  • About: I'm 37 years old, and I feel most of the time like an 80 year old. I have aches and pains, and I'm at my heaviest weight of 220 lbs :( I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time. I have 4 kids and a wonderful husband that I need to be healthy, happy and stick around for, the youngest is 2 1/2 years old. He has so much energy, and I have none, something has to change.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I saw the documentary, not even sure what I was searching for when it found me. But, I have been obsessed with learning everything I possibly can about juicing and how to safely do it, and what benefits it will have on my body. Yes, I'm excited to lose weight on this, but even more so, I'm excited to detox my body and let it repair itself after all the damage I've put it through in my lifetime. I read where people say it's amazing the care we put into our cars, or our houses, material things...but we won't do monthly or even daily repairs on our bodies. I'm done with all of that...this will be one of the hardest things I will ever go through, and my will power I'm not sure is all there, but I'm a firm believer in, mind over matter, and I will be successfully completing atleast a 30 day juice only fast. I have God on my side and when I start to feel weak I will turn to Him through it all, together with Him I've got this!!! I just ordered my juicer yesterday, and I'm so excited to get started!!!

Hey Vona, Just wanted to see how you were doing! Sorry I bailed on the forum for a bit. I stopped juicing after seven days. I did a liver flush and just couldn't down the juice anymore. But I am still on lots of vegetables and doing pretty good. Just thought I would say, "hay"!

Hey there :) Glad to see you again! No need for sorry's just glad you're doing good :) I'm raising a 2 1/2 year old little boy that pushes the limit every minute of every day, and most days I stay composed and I'm good, but here the last couple of days I've been spiraling, and I find myself eating things I shouldn't, but still in moderation LOL...my weight goes up and down, so I'm staying off the scales for a bit.

Hey there my beautiful support friends :) I just wanted to say that even though I have only lost a total of 6 lbs so far, my weight has been going up and down with different ingredients in juices...I have found I LOVE Joe's Mean Green, and now I have another favorite, it's called Morning Tang.

    • 1 orange bell pepper (capsicum)
    • 1 yellow bell pepper (capsicum)
    • 1 large carrot
    • 1/2 green apple
    • 1/2 lemon, peeled

YUM!!! Yesterday I made a big cobb salad for lunch for us, and today we had roasted sweet potato with brussel sprouts, garlic, and red pepper sauteed together, YUM...

Hubby's last blood work shows that now is he not pre-diabetic, but he's no where in the vicinity of it anymore :D

Hi Vona, not sure where you live, look for a co-op where you can buy vegetables and fruits cheaper. I went to one a few weeks ago and was surprised at how much I got for $20! Trader Joe's has less expensive fruit and veg too. And if you live in an area with farms during the summer months they can offer a box of produce fairly cheaply at intervals depending on how many people they have using their service.

Hi there Leslie, not sure what a co-op is lol but the farmer's markets are shut down for the winter around here, so walmart and kroger are my go to places unfortunately, thank you for the belated birthday wish :) This is the first year I actually feel older :(

Happy Birthday to ME! LOL I have felt so sick and just uggh today, I know it's because my body knows it wants the veggies and fruits and yet I still continue to pummel it with junk food and things I know are not healthy for me. I need an intervention I think LOL But easing into it will definitely help, and having hubby by my side during it will give me more accountability :) So, here's to succeeding and never giving up!

Hi Vona! Sorry about your struggles! I recommend you follow Joe's plan and eat the foods on the 10 day menu and ease into juicing. I found that the most successful start of a juice fast. I recommend his book with the 15 day plan in it. I was lucky enough to print out the plan when it was available here, however it must have been less popular and he shortened it to a 10 day plan, same food at the beginning followed by juice. My group juice fast is coming to an end. If you are interested in doing this together, let me know. I can try to find the pdf I downloaded if I didn't delete it and snag the information for you and post it here or on my page just let me know. We can plan to start Thursday if you are working so that symptoms of detox will be over by the time you go to work on Monday. Or we can begin Monday, just try and eat only what you would juice between now and the day you choose so detox will be lessened.

Hubby and I are going to start again on Saturday, I've still be juicing everyday but I can't bring myself to not eat, so yeah I think the reboot plan would be smart, is there any way to do like a juice for breakfast and lunch, then at 3 pm when we would normally have another juice eat a small healthy veggie based meal, then a juice for dinner? or do I need to follow everything the reboot plan says?

Ok, so today I'm struggling, I had my breakfast juice but couldn't handle not eating, so I ate, and now I feel like my body is yelling at me again, I have no energy, I've decided starting on Saturday, I will be doing a breakfast juice, lunch juice, then at 3pm when I would have another juice I'm going to have a small healthy meal and then a juice for dinner, so that my body is not sleeping with a big meal on my stomach, and it'll be light meals from here on out. Since day one I've had a hard time just sticking to the juice only, but I know I've been doing my body good with the veggies and fruits I've drunk so far, this just seems to be a smart approach for me, I went from 220.4 down to 214 lbs and that was awesome, then I couldn't stop grabbing food here and there, it was mainly stress eating, but still...no excuse, this weekend marks my new plan and until then I'm still juicing. Leslie I'll definitely try a slice or so beets in my juices to get the benefits of it.

I was weak last night, I went all day yesterday not even wanting to eat, and last night before I realized what happened I went and got something to eat. Uggh, it's ok, today is another day! I am down to 216.4 lbs.

Day 4 here, woke up, I'm up to 216.6 that's my fault, not getting my water in and eating a few bites here and there of not healthy stuff, but as of this morning I've given this all to God, with Him I will succeed. I had my Cali Kicker, and my breakfast juice, it was:

    • 1 ruby grapefruit
    • 1 orange
    • 2 carrots
    • 1/2 inch (1 cm) piece of ginger
