I am so slow in getting back to you, so sorry! I have been busy with my course, but MY! MY! your photo is GREAT!!!! Yes, I understand the last 30lb thing. I am there too. It's difficult because my budget has changed to accommodate my studies, so there's just not the extra funds to spend on juicing at the moment. AND it could just be that if I got back into exercise that I would lose weight without the need to juice, but hey, that's logical and I am not feeling logical at the moment. At least neither you nor I are putting weight back on, even with the faltering motivation. Again, WOW your photo looks FANTASTIC! Well done!

HI valiantjuice, how are you feeling? Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I have been a little unwell with a change of the season tummy bug. No matter, it's gone now. How's the detox going? AND WHEN do we see a recent photo of you? Love to see how you are progressing!

Hi Julieanne! Good day to you!

I posted a picture. I have a new laptop with different softward and still trying to navigate my way around it which is why I posted that picture without taking my kids out. That was Mother's Day.
With my job, I have been so so busy, distracted, unfocused...all the excuses I used to have 30 lbs ago which bugs me. I can't get in to a rythym. I'm thrilled with my weightloss, but I don't want to gain it back! I am still 30 lbs heavier than I was when I got married and, what I've learned from juicing, I think it is very realistic to get back there again! I want to do it.

You look like you are at your ideal weight! Good for you! Maybe I'll start a new group for those who want to join me in my final 30! :)

Hiya! Just to reassure you, no the fast hasn't been the cause of any potential heart issues I have. The B12 and Iron deficiency could have been monitored from the beginning but I didn't take care enough to get the blood test before doing the fast. Had I realized that I was already low in B12 then I would have taken something for that. It appears that the beetroot might have something to do with the dizziness as it is a vascular dilator. Vascular dilation is probably why my heart rate is lower during the workouts at the gym and why I have been feeling as though I could keep exercising for hours. Loads more oxygen was penetrating my system however this also causes the blood pressure to drop as the system dilates. Had wondered about that initially, will see what the cardiologist says next week. The beeturia experienced indicates that my stomach acid is weak (I knew that), which might explain why I haven't enjoyed the blood building effects of beetroot. I read that beetroot is recommended for folks with anemia and B12 deficiency, but I still have low iron and need B12 injections for the next few weeks. I do have enzyme tablets, so will be taking them more strictly ( I hate tablets) from hereon in. The doctor was relieved my heart xray came back well within normal ranges. It's just one of the waves on the ECG that is not in the normal range. I have no idea what to expect, the doctor doesn't either (she's a GP not a specialist). Will leave all diagnosis to those who do this for a living and not try to work it out myself. I am bound to be wrong and give myself an anxiety attack that doesn't need to happen. Lesson learned, if you have persistent dizziness, that doesn't subside with hydration or some food, GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! (luckily I have a strong willed daughter who won't take no for an answer!) I hope this puts your mind at rest ValiantJ. Take care!

Thank you so much. Yes, very helpful! Hydration always seems to do the trick for me so no worries at this point. Great information about beet root. I found a new recipe in Joe Cross' recipe book that is now my favorite juice. It calls for two beets and is so delicious. Good to know about beets.

Capsicum....um peppers? I think. Red, yellow and green peppers (bell peppers?). Is that right?

This week's favourite has been cucumber, beetroot, spinach, capsicum, carrot and apple. It's got a nice rounded flavour and I find it very satisfying to drink. The other favourite this week is apple and ginger frappe. I don't know if a frappe will appeal to you in winter but having all that ice gives the water intake extra zing! I find water harder to drink than juice - it just doesn't grab me at all. How are you feeling? How's your tongue? Are you still having the urge to chew? I have signed up for the 30 day fast because I can actually cook food for my grandson and not want to steal it from him LOL. My goal is to get into this dress I bought back in 1993. I bought it for the races but by the time I paid it off I was pregnant and couldn't wear it! Since then I have worn it twice - once in the lounge room! I want to wear this thing for my birthday! Do you have anything inspiring you? An old photo or dress or event?

Thank you for those recommendations. I will try them this week! What is capsicum? I've never heard of it. I am feeling pretty good. I've lost 11 pounds and for that, I am so so so thankful. I've been in a stuck yucky weight for too long.

I'm excited for you to get into your new dress...and by your birthday. What a great reward. We have an event where my husband is speaking in April so I have my sights on that weekend and, yes, a new Spring dress. My plan is to do this for 60 days, followed by a healthy "back to (the new) normal" plan. I'm wondering what I need a doctor for? I don't have any health issues like Joe Cross did, I'm just being extreme because I want to lose this weight. ;) I also secretly wonder if a bikini is ever in the cards for me? haha It would be great, but honestly, to look nice in any swimsuit would make me exhilaratingly happy. :) (what day are you on?)

Sorry, missed your question about the tongue. Each time I have done a fast it comes on at about day 3 and gradually disappears over the course of a couple of days. Today, for instance, my tongue is definitely less slimy and more pink. To combat the slime I decided to put more greens in my juice - mostly cucumber and silverbeet, not as much carrot and apple. It works for me, so give it a whirl if you think it might work for you. :)
