  • About: I was sick of being sick and fat! In June of 2012, I weighed the most I've ever weighed: 234 lbs. I never even got that heavy when I was pregnant with TWINS! I was embarrassed to go anywhere, I was severely depressed, I felt lost, and I desperately needed help. I started off with a 40 day fast and I've also completed 2 or 3 smaller 2 week fasts, and a few smaller fasts. I've gone from 234 lbs to under 170 lbs and I feel amazing now! I no longer suffer from psoriasis, I sleep much better at night, my skin looks amazing and I've gone from a size 20 to a comfortable size 12. I also don't have the stomach pain that came with my Crohn's disease. Life is just overall better! And I know I couldn't have achieved all of my dreams, had it not been for the support I got from the Reboot with Joe forums! I have also started coaching others who are looking for support with clean eating and fitness AFTER you finish your juice reboot and I love it!!! There is no better feeling than having a client be successful and to see them reach their goals! TeelaHerman.com
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I joined the Reboot with Joe forum during my first fast in February of 2013. I truly believe I wouldn't have been as successful with my 40 day fast had I not joined the Reboot with Joe and checked in daily. I gained some wonderful friends and got amazing support from people who had already been where I was. The Reboot with Joe is a godsend!!

How long have you been on the juice diet?

  • TeelaHerman.com

    hey pt. McCarty!

I started my first 40 day reboot in February 2013 and I've done smaller reboots since then, but my first reboot was the longest. I also just started a 30+ Day reboot today, actually.

Since starting my first reboot, juicing has been a part if my daily diet. Not only did I lose weight while rebooting, I changed my lifestyle. Trust me, you won't regret starting this.

Hey there, Jeannie! Great job at making it to day 4! The first few are always the hardest. I have the recipe to the juice here: http://my40dayjuicefast.blogspot.com/2013/03/anti-cellulite-juice.html

If you like grapefruit and celery, this juice is delicious! It's helped me though many weight loss plateaus during my first 40 day reboot. I actually drink this and a version of Joe's Mean Green daily during my reboots.

Let me know if you try it! I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for your reply to my post. That's great that you were able to meet Joe. I hope someday to have the same opportunity after I finish with my goals. His Movie, books and YouTube posts have been incredibly motivational! This forum is also incredible too. Thanks for playing an active part. :0)

It was pretty amazing! He is such a down to earth guy.

Check this out! There was a random guy in the line waiting to meet Joe. The guy says, "hi Joe! We've met once before..."

And Joe cut in and said, "yeah, yeah! I thought you looked familiar! It was you and 2 of your mates, right?"

And the guy was blown away and said, "that's right! My friend and brother in law."

And Joe said, "that was about 3 years ago, wasn't it?"

The guy then replied, "yeah. It'll be 3 years next month."

    Hahahaha. Crazy, huh?

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply, can I ask you for advice if I need it as you sound like a pro juicer now :0) x

hey Kel! You are more than welcomed to ask me for advice. I'm not a nutritionist or doctor or anything like that, just a simple stay at home mom who's been actively juicing for almost a year. It's just truly become a passion of mine and I really enjoy helping others. I love it when I get stumped with a question because I get to learn more about juicing. ;) I'll send you a friend request so I'm easier to find. :)

I'm Teela. I live in Texas and I am a wife and mother to three young sons.

I am a total newbie but I've had my juicer for just over a week and I've really broken her in! She's AMAZING and I'm in LOVE with her! Heehee

I've probably lost 4 lbs in the last week, and I've only replaced about 3 meals total and just added a BUNCH of fresh fruits and vegetables.

I am going to do a 40 day fast starting on Feb 13th and I am PUMPED! I can't WAIT! Less than one week!

I hope to meet a lot of new and amazing friends along my way. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and I'd love any support anyone would like to offer.

I'm so mad and angry. I need help before I give up.

I did great the first few days of the fast, lost about 9 lbs and then that's it. I've not seen any weight loss since Day 6 or so, in fact, since starting my period, I've GAINED weight.

Someone help!!!! I know I shouldn't be so obsessed with the number on the scale but OMG WHY AM I GAINING WEIGHT!?!?!?!?!? My husband had the audacity to say it was because I'm drinking too much juice!!!!! Great, so I was a fat blimp stuffing my face....and now I'm a fat blimp drinking fresh and expensive juice!?!?!?! Argh. I want to give up, run away and never come back. I need some support, motivation, advice, help, SOMETHING!

  • Amoxicillin and juice fasting???

I had a nasty inner ear infection that was close to rupturing my eardrum on Day 4. I went to urgent care and stupidly didn't mention my fast. He put me on 500 mg ammoxicillin 2x a day. I'm on Day 8 of the juice fast (day 4 of antibiotics) and my ear is not better, my throat now hurts, and my other ear seems to be bothering me.

I made an appointment with my family care doctor today and plan to tell him about my juice fast but I was curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I'm hoping my doctor doesn't recommend I go off the fast. I need help. Ay tips? Advice? Encouraging words? Similar stories? Help a fellow juicer out. Aside from this darn infection, I feel WONDERFUL!

This will be my third juice fast. I started and completed a 40 day juice fast in February. Then I did a much smaller 4 day fast recently and now I'm looking to start a guided group reboot for 30 days starting May 1st.

Less than a year ago I weighed 234 lbs. I was miserable, depressed and I hated myself and my life. I wanted weight loss surgery but that was not an option (husband's company doesn't cover any treatment of obesity). I was a few pounds away from being technically morbidly obese.

My husband had me watch the amazing documentary FSAND and something clicked. It all made sense and for once in my life, I felt like there was a way I could possibly get my life back.

I lost some weight on my own with portion control and then by replacing a meal or two here or there with juice and by Feb. 13th when I started my first official 40 day fast, I weighed 193 lbs. at the end of my 40 day fast, I down about 25 lbs. I went from a size 18 to a size 12. I went from an XXL shirt to a large. I am also no longer obese!

I don't have an official goal weight but I have a goal RANGE and I still have a way to go before I get there. I'm hoping to find as many people who want to join me and a few friends. We have a group on Facebook right now (only because this type of forum is very confusing for most people once you get more than a page worth of replies) And this is a blog I wrote that explains what the plan is http://my40dayjuicefast.blogspot.com/2013/04/30-day-may-2013-juice.html
You can also see my before and after photos, my weight log, recipes and much, much more.

I can't wait to meet and get to know some fellow juicers and start this 30 day journey to a better health together!
