- About: I was sick of being sick and fat! In June of 2012, I weighed the most I've ever weighed: 234 lbs. I never even got that heavy when I was pregnant with TWINS! I was embarrassed to go anywhere, I was severely depressed, I felt lost, and I desperately needed help. I started off with a 40 day fast and I've also completed 2 or 3 smaller 2 week fasts, and a few smaller fasts. I've gone from 234 lbs to under 170 lbs and I feel amazing now! I no longer suffer from psoriasis, I sleep much better at night, my skin looks amazing and I've gone from a size 20 to a comfortable size 12. I also don't have the stomach pain that came with my Crohn's disease. Life is just overall better! And I know I couldn't have achieved all of my dreams, had it not been for the support I got from the Reboot with Joe forums! I have also started coaching others who are looking for support with clean eating and fitness AFTER you finish your juice reboot and I love it!!! There is no better feeling than having a client be successful and to see them reach their goals! TeelaHerman.com
- Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I joined the Reboot with Joe forum during my first fast in February of 2013. I truly believe I wouldn't have been as successful with my 40 day fast had I not joined the Reboot with Joe and checked in daily. I gained some wonderful friends and got amazing support from people who had already been where I was. The Reboot with Joe is a godsend!!

Hello I am new here. I have been doing a juice reboot for 7 days now and I have discovered a wonderful unexpected benefit. I have escaped from the kitchen!! I have a partner and a 16 year old and I do all the meal planning, cooking, shopping, clearing up -with some help. of course but I am responsible for it like most mums. But I decided to tell the two of them what I was doing and leave them to it as far as food goes . Now they are responsible for what and when they eat for the next 20 day! Ha They have realised what a chore it can be to have to decide what to eat- cook it- and clear up. While I make juice once every two days and have masses of more TIME! I feel so much more relaxed. I am not going back to my old ways so when I am back on solids we will have to come to an arrangement! Thank you!
You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I am on day three of a 60 day ReBoot that I was medically cleared to do. I have no health issues but do realize that I have been pushing myself to the brink and pulling myself back so often that sooner or later something's gotta give. I started at the weight of 225 and am down 10 lbs as of today. I feel great and am blessed to stay home which makes juicing and lowering stressors easier for me. My goal is 125 but more than that HEALTH! If I like my health, vitality, and appearance as well as my energy at a weight above 125 than so be it. That's great too. I've been keeping my head in the game, or rather, in this juicing life by doing the ReBoot Certification and watching both FS&ND films until, as was said in the film, it seeps into my soul. So far so great! Thank you again!
Wow, that is just awesome you went 40 days! I must admit, I am having some thoughts today about eating. (healthy along with juicing) But that was not my plan. my plan was and still IS to fast only for 30 days! It is only 4 days for me. I sure hope it gets easier. It is the hunger and the thought of eating solid foods that is getting to me. It will pass. It happens throughout the day, and than after it passes, I feel content. But I feel really weak, and your post is motivating to me! I cannot fail on this. It is something I really need to do to melt the fat off my body. Happy Juicing!
I went 100 days on my first Reboot. I don't recommend that , BTW. The eating part will pass. After the first 10 days, the juicing becomes a routine. It will get easier. I lost most of my cravings in the first 20 days. The last one was on the 40th day ...it was movie theater popcorn. OMG, the body's response to that smell was simply powerful. After that, I had no more cravings at all. Gritz100 told me that the first 10 days was the detoxifying time. After that, the body started to heal. I have to agree with that based on what I found on my journey. You will do fine.
your doing great !!! Drink more juice if your still hungry.
...I am a newbie, so how does this work? Do we just start talking to other members for advice, etc? Im preparing this week for my reboot with more raw veges and fruits and less milk, dairy, and processed foods like Joe suggests. Next week I start my reboot. I have done fasting like this numerous times,(just by myself w/no support). The longest I stuck it out was 21 days. Support would be wonderful! When I seen Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead1&2, I was taken in immediately and said Im doing it! So here I am.I would like to go 40 days if I can, we will see.Its a financial concern for me as the cost of organic produce is so high! Any suggestions?
Nothing in this world is truely organic, the air it grows in is bad. Don't worry so much about organic as you worry about fresh vegetables. You can rinse them with lemon and water and they're fine. And we looked around and found the cheapest Market in town it's a little bit far away from us but it saves a whole lot of money. You can do it congratulations and I hope you do great.
Absolutely - what an achievement. Well done.
Love the website and your intro :-)
I am here as I want to get better as well :-)
I am very keen on beginnig the juicing Experience unfortunatly I will only be able to purchase my juicer at month end. What advise can you offer me? I downloaded the 10 day challange reboot guide and I am looking forward in it changing my life. I have tried so many things and I figured this is worth a try.
My blender is being shipped and I have been using my Vitamix until I can start juicing. I figure consuming the vegetable and fruits only is a plus until I get my machine. I am just adding tons of water. Could you just go to a juice bar?
I would love to get any insight as to were to start with this juicing. I am a newbie and need all the help i can get!!!!
Omg!!! I'm a newbie 2. This is my 3rd day but I've only had 1 day of juicing. Problem is I'm up at 2AM, my 88 year old dad is sleeping. The juicer makes crazy crazy noise so I eat fruit in the am. But yesterday I got very light headed and had palps! I ate some broccoli heads with garlic olive oil. All juicing says drink immediately. ....any suggestions/ help!!
Hi Carmen, since you can't use the juicer during the night, make your juice earlier and keep it in the fridge. Do it just before he goes to bed so you have 2 good portions of juice. Also, don't forget to drink water to keep your stomach busy.
I had trouble in the beginning of my Reboot, my juicer also makes a lot of noise and trying to work my schedule around juicing was difficult. One thing that helped me is I made all or most of my juices in one day, usually a Sunday. I found that you can freeze the juice if you are not going to be using it right away. If I wanted a certain kind of juice and it was frozen I would move it to the fridge the night before, next morning it was ready to drink.
Perhaps my answer is late. I have prepared all juices for that day early in the morning. Wherever I would go, I would take the bottle with me. My old juicer broke and I have opted for a SLOW rotation juicer. Works best on leafy greens and not noisy. It has the tendency of not doing a good job on juicy fruits such as pineapple but all in all it is ok.
You need a good juicer to extract ALL or most of the vitamins from it. Light headache can be a sign of not eating enough. You also need to drink plenty of water during the day. Go over the steps you need to do and see where you may improve.
We are just getting started today!

I'm Teela. I live in Texas and I am a wife and mother to three young sons.
I am a total newbie but I've had my juicer for just over a week and I've really broken her in! She's AMAZING and I'm in LOVE with her! Heehee
I've probably lost 4 lbs in the last week, and I've only replaced about 3 meals total and just added a BUNCH of fresh fruits and vegetables.
I am going to do a 40 day fast starting on Feb 13th and I am PUMPED! I can't WAIT! Less than one week!
I hope to meet a lot of new and amazing friends along my way. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and I'd love any support anyone would like to offer.

I'm so mad and angry. I need help before I give up.
I did great the first few days of the fast, lost about 9 lbs and then that's it. I've not seen any weight loss since Day 6 or so, in fact, since starting my period, I've GAINED weight.
Someone help!!!! I know I shouldn't be so obsessed with the number on the scale but OMG WHY AM I GAINING WEIGHT!?!?!?!?!? My husband had the audacity to say it was because I'm drinking too much juice!!!!! Great, so I was a fat blimp stuffing my face....and now I'm a fat blimp drinking fresh and expensive juice!?!?!?! Argh. I want to give up, run away and never come back. I need some support, motivation, advice, help, SOMETHING!

I had a nasty inner ear infection that was close to rupturing my eardrum on Day 4. I went to urgent care and stupidly didn't mention my fast. He put me on 500 mg ammoxicillin 2x a day. I'm on Day 8 of the juice fast (day 4 of antibiotics) and my ear is not better, my throat now hurts, and my other ear seems to be bothering me.
I made an appointment with my family care doctor today and plan to tell him about my juice fast but I was curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I'm hoping my doctor doesn't recommend I go off the fast. I need help. Ay tips? Advice? Encouraging words? Similar stories? Help a fellow juicer out. Aside from this darn infection, I feel WONDERFUL!

This will be my third juice fast. I started and completed a 40 day juice fast in February. Then I did a much smaller 4 day fast recently and now I'm looking to start a guided group reboot for 30 days starting May 1st.
Less than a year ago I weighed 234 lbs. I was miserable, depressed and I hated myself and my life. I wanted weight loss surgery but that was not an option (husband's company doesn't cover any treatment of obesity). I was a few pounds away from being technically morbidly obese.
My husband had me watch the amazing documentary FSAND and something clicked. It all made sense and for once in my life, I felt like there was a way I could possibly get my life back.
I lost some weight on my own with portion control and then by replacing a meal or two here or there with juice and by Feb. 13th when I started my first official 40 day fast, I weighed 193 lbs. at the end of my 40 day fast, I down about 25 lbs. I went from a size 18 to a size 12. I went from an XXL shirt to a large. I am also no longer obese!
I don't have an official goal weight but I have a goal RANGE and I still have a way to go before I get there. I'm hoping to find as many people who want to join me and a few friends. We have a group on Facebook right now (only because this type of forum is very confusing for most people once you get more than a page worth of replies) And this is a blog I wrote that explains what the plan is http://my40dayjuicefast.blogspot.com/2013/04/30-day-may-2013-juice.html
You can also see my before and after photos, my weight log, recipes and much, much more.
I can't wait to meet and get to know some fellow juicers and start this 30 day journey to a better health together!
