Oh boy, there is something terribly wrong with my stomach. A big TMI share coming up so read on only if you dare, it isn't pretty.

I've been trying to add a little bit of healthy food once a day back into my diet for these final 30 days, but anything I eat causes me to eliminate everything, liquids and all, through my bowels in series of very explosive episodes that runs for hours. I can't even drink water while this is happening or out it comes, too. I wonder if I have some sort of stomach bug or parasite? I accidentally used a rotten coconut in the first few days of the reboot while I was still in the Juice Plus phase and coconut flesh was an optional ingredient in the recipe and it made me sick in exactly the same way. The leftover flesh certainly looked very wormy although I couldn't actually see any worms just thousands of little wormy tracks..

I haven't been eating crap food either - a small bowl of little prawns I cooked myself with a few cubes of avocado and mango on rocket (arugula) one time and baked mushroom and asparagus with a poached egg another. I know they'll need a stool sample but trying to collect something is just too revolting to contemplate. It won't be like scraping a little bit of poo into a jar, that's for sure. And there's nothing left now so I'll have to eat something knowing it will make me sick again just to get the sample. The thought of putting myself through that again is awful.

I've suffered from IBS before but this is on a whole other level. I'm still juicing but I know I'm going to need to go and see a doctor and they will want me to stop and take drugs. But I'm not ready to stop!

Hey Stephanie, I am worried about you my reboot friend. When was the last time you used Probiotics? Google Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics. He is a microbiologist, and has won "Best of Supplement Award" for six straight years (again in 2014). His website is www.essentialformulas.com. Even if it is parasites, his probiotic blend can kill them.

Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

    Please keep me posted.

Thanks Marie. I was going to start on some fermented food (sauerkraut, kim chi, etc) for the probiotics but I'll read what Dr Ohhira has to say first. Thanks for the reference :)

I've only had juice so far today but I can hear my stomach gurgling away and it's starting to twist and cramp so I suspect I'm not done yet. At least I'll get that sample :-/

Hey Stephanie: You are still the best rebooter I know. I got up this morning, and juiced for the first time in days. I have been sick, so my refrigerator is low on everything. I had some slighted wilted spinach and dandelion leaves, so did that in place of kale for the mean green. I used extra cucumbers and celery, and it has been delightful. I seem to make one type of juice for the whole day, so hope that is ok. I need to get out today and buy enough produce for tomorrow.

I hope that you get the job you want. Totally understand your situation, about staying where you are. It sounds like you live in a beautiful area, as you are near the beach and Great Barrier Reef. Wow, can't think of a more beautiful area to live. What is the name of the city you live in? What is the population?

So, are you still rebooting on juice only or are you doing a modified reboot now?

I have a job interview next Tuesday, for a job in Phoenix, Arizona (where my mother lives). I will spend this weekend getting ready for that. It would be nice to have a job before I move there. Hope to be with my mom by Christmas.

    Thanks for your communication, Marie

I'm so glad you are feeling better. I'm low on veg this week myself, I didn't buy enough at the farmer's market last Sunday. I make the same juice for all day, as well. I wouldn't worry about it.

The city I'm in is called Townsville. I used to live in the Whitsundays, which is magnificent and about three hours down the road, but it is much smaller and for a time the economy was very bad and a lot of us lost our jobs so I came up here. Townsville is a city with a population of about 170,000 which is large for a regional city in this state. It's 1,500km (almost 1,000 miles) north of the state capital, which is Brisbane. Even though Townsville is in the tropics, it's in a rain shadow and very dry here for 8 months of the year and then rains on and off for four, two of them very heavy. We also get the occasional cyclone which is like a hurricane.

I'm only doing a modified reboot in the sense that I'm adding half an avocado a day now with a tablespoon of good oils (coconut, EVOO or macadamia). I'm doing it for my skin, brain function and joints. The prawns were just a deviation. I got a bit too excited about eating a little avocado and thought mmm a few prawns would go nicely with that, they're good for you!

Good luck prepping for your job interview :)

Your pictures are awesome. Truly. Once again you are my inspiration. How did the interview go? Marie

You are too kind! I'm not sure I deserve your praise today, I wanted to eat a little avocado each day after day 30 but today it turned into a fresh prawn salad after I bought six uncooked prawns from the fish market. All fresh, natural and healthy but perhaps a little naughty. I can't say I haven't eaten anything other than a mouthful here and there of fruit or veg anymore!

The interview went OK. I handled it alright and they were very friendly but they gave absolutely nothing away and won't be notifying applicants if they got through to the next stage until the week after next. The job starts in mid January. Fingers crossed! I applied for another position right across the country, about 5,500km away (can't get much further, it's north coast on one side of the country to south coast on the other) and I will definitely get their offer before I find out about this position, in fact they sent me for a medical today. It pays a lot more (almost double) but I would prefer to stay here. I like it and my 20 y.o son is here. Cross country flights aren't cheap in Australia and it would be over $1,000 return to come back and visit. Lots to think about.

Stephanie definitely do not beat yourself up about a few prawns and don't let it derail you! Think of losing weight as a marathon not a sprint. You will get to the finish line but you can't always be running full speed! Sometimes you will jog but as long as you aren't running backwards, it's all good! You are doing awesome!!! ;)

Here are the pics before my job interview today, on the sides. The top photo was taken a couple of months before I started and I'd put on another 12lb or so since then, before starting my reboot. The head shot was taken after one week of juicing.

It sure does, Maxene. In fact it feels so good I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not done yet because it would be easy to say this is good enough because I feel so great!

How's this for an update? I have a job interview on Thursday and I've lost so much weight, I don;t have anything that fits so I went and bought an inexpensive new outfit. Trying on clothes wasn't the traumatic disaster it usually is and I found something nice quite quickly (photos on Thursday). It made me curious to know just how much weight I have lost so I found a department store that sold scales and weighed myself. 15kg (33lb) in 27 days. Bam, take that fat!

Getting there, Eric, getting there. How are you going? You must be counting down the days now! Less than 20 to go yet? Have you thought about the type of 'diet' you'll will transition to? Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, everything in moderation? :)

Hey thanks, yes I have 16 days to go (had to check to see what day I was in, which is a good sign means I have been doing this a WHILE now!) and I will end on Thanksgiving here in the states of all days, so I will be coasting through my last day while others over eat terrible food :). I will be eating gluten free vegan after this is over and plan to eat 2 raw meals a day be it a juice or eating and only 1 cooked meal. I actually ate like that before, I just had a head injury and some hormone issues and fell off any sort of good structure. However, when I am on a good path I am SUPER aware of every ingredient I put in my body, I am a major label reader and try to avoid buying much food that even has a label and cooking from scratch. I have been thoroughly enjoying cooking for my partner now that I can handle that I am so aware of every flavor and smell to the point that I can cook her an excellent meal from scratch without the need to taste it to assure it is good. So yes, I am doing quite well, the thought has even crossed my mind to extend past the 60 days but I think a more realistic goal is to take a small break eat vegan and then come back for another reboot soon until i get to my goal wieght.

    Hope you are well!!!

P.S. Every since I have been on this sight my notifications have been inaccurate and sometimes I am not even told when someone has commented to me, promise I wasn't purposely ignoring you!

Many of you know I felt like I hit a plateau last week that continued for five or six days where I couldn't see any results. Because I didn't take any before photos or weigh or measure myself, it's hard to track the changes. But the past two days things seem to have kick-started again and today (day 19, no deviations) I put on my bike backpack for the first time since I started the reboot and would you look at that ;)

hiya fellow Aussie. Re the sideways pic, just square it off and post it again. The rectangle shape will usually always make it sit sideways. Hope this helps.

Day 15 done and dusted. I started on the 15 day Juice Plus reboot so even though I knew when I started I wanted (and needed) to go for 30 to 60 days, all day I wanted to feel like I was finished. Last night I went out for dinner with my son and tonight I went out for dinner with my father and his wife, who were just visiting for one night. Both nights I managed to watch them eat pizza (last night) and Greek seafood (tonight) and stuck to water. I know by how much I wanted to eat that food how much I need to continue! Juice on.

You are solid as a rock 4 Stars

You know I heard somewheres Joe say that once you hit your target weight its ok once or twice a week to have the bad things we crave -

So the objective for me is rewards don't come without completing the journey

  • Stephanie

Thanks Dond, we all have to return to 'normal' eating at some point but for most of us what was normal before our reboot needs to change. Hopefully we can retrain our tastes and switch to a desire for healthier food during the time of our reboot. My base meals used to be pretty healthy (although they included dairy, grains and meat - foods I'll need to decide if I want to reintroduce) but it was the crap I ate on top of it that was my undoing, mostly sugary foods like chocolate and ice cream. Oh yeah and portion sizes. Portion sizes for the 'healthy' food and portion sizes of crap. I'm not sure if there should be any room for some of that stuff at all once I return to eating. I think I need to find healthier treats!

I thought since the Holidays are coming up as well as the end of the year and I would rather start the year off on a positive note then as a desperate resolution, I will do nothing but juices, smoothie and salad until the end of the year. I know just juices alone would give me faster weight loss but I am trying to focus on health and not just weight alone as well as something that is sustainable for the long haul. I would love company and support if anyone else is interested? Join me and we can encourage and support each other. :)
