    Diary of My Reboot
Well I saw "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" last Friday when I was sick with allergy, virus, or R.A. fatigue symptoms (not sure which). Was amazed watching this film. I was diagnosed with RA in 2007. Watching the film I noticed some the same meds that I went through over the last several years. Developing severe allergic reactions to all sooner or later.
I am super excited to have a juicer arrive at the house today. Hope to start a Long Weekend plan or Express plan first to see how it goes. Hubby picked up some organic fruit n veggies today so tomorrow I will get use to the juicer.

DAY 4 Well my plan to wait until a weekend when I got my juicer and made a Mean Green juice I was floored how delicious it was. So I started that juicing that day but I got hungry at work. So I did not go juice only until the next day. I think I can go for a full 60 day Reboot and kick R.A. to the curb.

Day 7 - juice only, have lost 12 pounds in 7 days. Feeling good!

Making juice is getting easier. The first few days it took me a lot of time. I save some time because now I prepare enough juice for my entire day on the days that I work. On weekends I juice enough for morning and early afternoon. Then I juice a fresh one for dinner.
Also have noticed that I save a lot of time not having take time out to prepare or to eat a meal.

My husband is going to do "juice only" on this 3 day weekend with me. He has been doing 2 juices a day with a regular meal for dinner. Easing into it :^)

Today's juices: in my Mean Green base I substituted 5 leaves of Collard greens for Kale, more protein in collards. 3 stalks Celery, 1 cucumber, 1 inch ginger, 1 small lemon, 2 apples. With this as a base I added on to make two juices one savory and one sweet/tart juice for my work day.
1.) Veggie + Mean Green juice added handful of Cranberries (helps my R.A.) 6 asparagus, 1 yellow squash, 1 tomatoe, 1 amall sweet potatoe and 1 small yellow potatoe.
2.) Fruit + Mean Green juice added handful of Cranberries (helps my R.A.) 3 asparagus, 1 red pear, 1/4 pomogranite, 1 amall sweet potatoe.

Having two different flavors of juices helps me not get bored. Some times I will combine them at work to get a glass of yet another flavor. Hate to say it but this is starting to get fun. LOL

    Day 8 - Juice only
Today I decided to have some fun and go back to the basic Mean Green juice recipe to see how it tasted to me now. Yummy, a very clean taste. I have been adding different things to get a variety of flavored juices.
    # 1.) Mean Green (substituted collards in place of kale)
    # 2.) 1 Cucumber, 6 Collard greens, 4 Celery stalks, 1 Tbsp Ginger, 1 Key Lime, 2 handfuls cranberries, 1 Beet, 1 Red Pear, 1 Apples
Gives me enough juice for the entire work day.
Last night at the end of my day was the first time that I felt too full to drink my last cup of juice. Was strange because I usually drink every last drop. LOL, I mean literally scrap out every tidbit and wish I had just a little more.

Day 9 Juice Only for me and I am feeling really good today. The RA flare up yesterday cleared up today. Yeah!
Day 2 Juice Only for Len, my husband. Before that he was doing one regular meal a day. He is experiencing some early "juice only" fasting issues. But he is determined to get through them.
Hey, I had a thought of that today, what would I do if a hectic day interrupted my juicing schedule. I guess I would try to find a big veggie salad with a Pomegranate juice in the grocery's here.

    Hey Everyone,

Day 13 - Juice only, Down 14 lb on day 12.

Had an extra long weekend and have company in town this week. Still on juice only and loving it.
Really exciting news, my husband joined juice only last Thursday and on day 4 of his "juice fast" his doctor removed him from his blood pressure medicine. Awesome!
Spent this morning watching FSND with my company from out of town, my best friend from grade school and through our high school years. She has been very supportive during her visit. She did Dr Dean's diet she said was similar but with whole veggies and fruit. Within months she was able to get off all of her medicines. That was a couple of years ago. But last year after having a long time house guests, helping a relative in need out, she fell into bad eating habits (theirs). Think this refresher may help her to get back on the healthy track again. I hope so, she is a good friend and I want her with me for many healthy years to come.
My juicer I found on sale is a Tfal and is easy to clean up. Trying quite a variety of juices. Tried the for breakfast juice the 2 Pears, 1 Fennel bulb was one my husband found on this site was surprised me how delicious it was.
I still through in 1 or 2 handfuls of fresh cranberries in everyday in to a juice. My R.A. has not cause any flare ups in the last few days. In the past found that I had to limit the amount time spent gardening because of the amount of pain I would endure the following day or two. Otherwise I would have to wear wrist braces after to get through the following day. Well ? Monday I even did some gardening for about 3 hours. No pain that night and no pain the following day. This is wonderful results already.
My 60 day juice fast will end Dec 31 and I know that is a way off yet. But I am beginning to believing that I will start the New Year off in 2013, free from Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I am thankful for this juice fast.

    Hey Everyone,
Just catching up, have been busy with holiday planning and preparations. I will be juicing tomorrow, Thanksgiving day, do not want to break my momentum now.
Day 20 of 60 day Reboot - down 18 pounds, 29 pounds left to go.
Today was funny cooking some make ahead items and checking for taste with out swallowing any bits or pieces. Everything I am making to take to my daughters is all whole foods.
My husband finished his 10 day juice only last weekend. Now is doing juice two times a day and one regular meal. He is doing all whole foods except for one night he has 3-4 ounces of quality grass fed beef with beans, rice, saut?ed veggies and a leafy green salad. His blood pressure has stayed very good after getting off his bp meds 10 days ago.

I am thinking of upgrading to a better juicer now that I know we will be doing juicing for the long term.
What is everyone's personal experiences and preferences in quality juicer models?
    * I am THANKFUL that I watched "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and was able to use the information in that movie and here to do a "Juice Fast"! *

Yes, I am going for an entire 60 day juice only fast to cure my autoimmune disease. Today is Day 26, lost 22 pounds and I am feeling better than I have in 6 years.
I have pretty much just fallen in to "this is just my routine" attitude now. I look forward to my morning fruit juices always. The two pears with one fennel bulb is my favorite so far. And find myself smelling freshness of my lunch in dinner juices they smell soooooooo good. I try different vegetables added to the basic mean green juice to keep from getting bored. Also I am juicing more and more organic veggies and fruits as my tastes are becoming more sensitive to additives.

Juicing until New Years Eve 2013!
