  • About: I am a Mom, Grand mom, former Massage Therapist and a Vacation Property Manager. I have been interested in health and nutrition for a long time. I am 65 and have had a couple of fairly hefty dis-eases in the last 4 years, and have been overweight for several years now. I am feeling a very strong need to change my mind about all this.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I saw Joe's Fat Sick and Nearly dead on the Food Network, one of my fav shows just after having some hefty illnesses and I too, felt fat sick and nearly dead, so thought I would start to reboot with juicing my way to health. I previously signed up for a 15 day reboot Feb 2015 which was great and now want to do the 60 guided reboot for a pre-diabetic condition that I find myself in currently. Want to reverse this Big Time!

Hi Roz! Hope you get more energy soon. I also have high energy and low energy days it seems. After 31 days of juicing I have transitioned out to eating more cooked and raw veggies and fruits. I even had some steel cut oats with flax seed meal and almond milk for breakfast today. It was wonderful. That used to be my breakfast before I started the reboot - except I always had organic milk on it. I didn't think I liked almond milk on my oatmeal but after not having any dairy since Jan 13th the almond milk wasn't bad at all. I have been dairy, sugar and caffeine free since Jan 13th. I did eat some homemade veg soup this evening that I had in the freezer. I used a little organic grass fed ground beef in the soup - so that was the first bite of meat I have had since January 13th. I plan on that being the exception rather than the rule, but I would have to say that the soup tasted really good. I have been enjoying raw jicama strips, red peppers, sugar snap peas and cucumber strips with guacamole for lunch, and today I added some roasted red pepper hummus to the raw veggies also. I have to say that actually chewing on veggies was a welcome treat after 31 days of juicing. How many days of juicing have you done so far? Hope all is well with you...

    Hi Darlene,

I did not get any emails that I am aware of???? hmmmm.

I hope you are feeling much better now, and know that we apparently have really great and really not great days...boo hoo. Saturday I was not at all well, Sunday I was fine and worked all day, today seems good so far but tummy is rumbling as I speak, and will see what tomorrow brings? i do not have 100 percent energy, and get very fatigued in the evenings and have been going to bed by 8-9 and then up at 4;30-6...and hoping it will level off at some point!

    Have a better day tomorrow.

Hi Roz! I hope the reboot is going well for you. I also have Graves Disease and multi nodular non-toxic goiter since I am taking the methimazole (Tapazole) to control it at present. I am hopeful that this healthier way of living will help my body to mend itself and get rid of the many toxins that have been lurking in my fat for years. Best of luck to you! Juice on!

    Hi Mary,

Thanks for sharing and I was on Tapazole for 18 months, and luckily the symptoms went into remission, and doc thinks that should hold for life. I am so grateful too, and so far so good! Iasked Stacy about eating all the kale and she said for hyper thyroid it was OK, so we are good to carry on....and yes lose that harbinger of nasties, the fat!

Cheers and best of luck on your reboot too!

A group for those interested in not only doing a reboot but using it as a tool to effect serious change in your life. Use this opportunity to kick cravings out, face mental demons, load up on tons of fruits and vegetables and start living the life you always knew you could! I just completed my first 60 day juice only reboot on Thanksgiving (11-28-14) and lost 40lbs!!!! I felt great and still do but am not mentally where I want to be with food yet and physically still need to lose about 40lbs. So, I enjoyed my month after Thanksgiving to Christmas eating a mostly vegan diet and am ready to kick off another 60 day juice reboot. All are welcome, newbies and veterans alike, and although I am doing juice only and hope others will join me, all rebooters are welcome whether you juice only or don't or if it is for 60 days or 3. Let's join together and encourage one another to freedom!!!!
