  • Anybody else reading food recipes?

    I am 24/60 in my juice fast, and have found myself reading recipes ... both the suggested meal plan recipes from this site and also any recipe about food that comes my way. I already know what breakfast I'm going to make when I eventually eat solid food again (the Cherry Cinnamon Apple Bake), and I've even prepared the cherries and have them safely frozen for that future day! And I'm really excited by the Zucchini/Tomato Bake as well as the roasted veggie dish. I am not that dedicated of a cook, but find myself right now carefully reading about how to make certain cookies or oatmeal or zucchini croquets, etc. And I've noticed that I'm missing the smells of cooked food.

    I read that one woman while juicing was making cookies and brownies to bring to the office. Now, I am not going to do that, but helping others cook sounds like fun, even if I don't eat anything.

    Just wondering if this is just me or are other people food obsessed?

  • Losing Weight After the Reboot

    I have quite a bit of weight that I need to lose, and while I'm only on Day 21 of my 60 day reboot, I'm wondering what is the best plan for continuing to lose weight after the 60 days is over. Continue juicing for 2 meals and then eating a plant-based dinner? Or starting an "Eat To Live" diet? Thanks!

  • Allergy Issues

    I am on Day 48 of my juice fast, and for the past week or so have been having issues with drainage from my sinuses (which is causing my asthma to flare up). The pollen count in my area (Pacific NW) is low, so I don't think it is seasonal allergies, and I've started irrigating my nasal passages with salt water. I am surprised, since there is no dairy now in my diet. I'm primarily drinking the Mean Green, Citrus Green, Gazpacho Juice and Sunset Blend juices, with a fruit juice in the morning (normally made up of either watermelon or pineapple with kiwi and berries). My question is if possibly juicing could be producing the extra mucus ... either through some allergic reaction or my body trying to get rid of toxins?

    My sister has problems sleeping when she juices for more than a couple of days. She drinks one cup of coffee in the morning, even when doing a juice fast, but doesn't think that drinking coffee in the morning could be keeping her awake 16 hours later. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
