15 days, 11 lbs lost. Feel pretty good and sleeping great. For some reason this last weekend was really hard to get thru. Ideally I would like to make it until the end of May. We shall see.

So, I'm back! I have been on a vegan diet since my last reboot. However the weight hasn't budged in fact I have gained 2 lbs. I've been following the 80 10 10 diet and where I like it and feel great, I just feel as tho its time for another reboot. I'm not sure for how long. I'm going to start on a 5 day and take if from there. Here we go!

25th day today! yay! I start a mini vacation today and will be adding a small meal to transition out of just juicing. See how this goes. I almost don't want to since its been going so good. However I know that in a few days there will be a birthday event (mine) and I will be eating a meal. It will be at a vegan restaurant, but I want to be ready :) a cup of Lentil soup for me today. Lost 16 lbs so far and still no migraines or anything else. JUICE ON!!

Congratulations Raqyz! I am so proud of you. Day 15! That is fantastic. Are you eating any additional vegetables or fruit? Or only having juice at this point. How long did you have foggy thinking? Were you ever weak or tired? My first three days had a lot of fatigue issues. I kept going to bed one hour earlier, and then 2 hours earlier, and then added a 3-4 hour nap during the day. I did not make it through, I am sorry to say. I had to do some writing at work ( a legal brief ) and just had to get my brain clear and working. I am back on again, and will keep on trying to stay juice only.

Thanks for all you do for the Reboot Community.

Thank you! The first 3 days were the worst for me, around the 5th day tho it was all so clear and I started to feel great. It's been only juice, coconut water, and I made a broth out of the pulp a couple of times for something hot. But that's it.

Day 15 and its still going good. No hunger and I've lost 11 lbs. I have found that I need to be easy with the beets, we don't get along very well, & everyday is a challenge. I did this to lose weight of course but also to hopefully put an end to migraines. The last reason is that I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago and have tried to wean myself off of hormones but always have to get back on. I searched and never could find if juicing would help alleviate the side effects of getting off of them, but never found anything. So when I started the juicing I went all in, no hormones no migraine meds nothing. I'm pretty excited that I haven't had a migraine, (last one lasted 3 days), I had a headache on the 3rd day of juicing but I knew it was the caffeine leaving my system. I'm not saying that anyone else should just stop their hormone therapy, I'm just saying this is my experience. I've haven't had any hot flashes, no pains, nada. I have more energy and feel so alert. I'm not stopping yet tho, my goal was to make it to the 7th of Nov. So we shall see, it's getting closer all the time.

    Fasting Detoxification Stages

Here is an overview of the detoxification stages during a juice fast. The time periods are a general estimation. This article was written by, Mr. Tom McGregor, author of Eating in Freedom.

** Stage 1 (Day 1 To Day 2) On the first day of fasting, the blood sugar level drops below 70 mg/dl. To restore the blood to the normal glucose level, liver glycogen is converted to glucose and released into the blood. This reserve is enough for half a day. The body then reduces the basal metabolic rate (BMR). The rate of internal chemical activity in resting tissue is lowered to conserve energy. The heart slows and blood pressure is reduced. Glycogen is pulled from the muscle causing some weakness. The first wave of cleansing is usually the worst. Headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue are signs of the first stage of cleansing. Hunger can be the most intense in this period unless the enema is used which quickly assists the body into the fasting state by ending digestion in the colon.

**Stage 2 (Day 3 To Day 7) Fats, composed of transformed fatty acids, are broken down to release glycerol from the gliceride molecules and are converted to glucose. The skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body. People with problem-free skin may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food-satiety center in the hypothalamus. You may feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. This effect is temporary. The desire to eat will disappear. Lack of hunger may last 40 to 60 days, depending on whether you are on water or juice. The body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take a much-needed rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. White blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs. The cleansing organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Periodically, the lymphatic system expels mucoid matter through the nose or throat. The volume excreted of this yellow-colored mucus can be shocking. The sinuses go through periods of being clogged, then will totally clear. The breath is still foul and the tongue coated. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and impacted feces on the intestinal wall start to loosen.

**Stage 3 (Day 8 to Day 15) On the latter part of an extended fast, you can experience enhanced energy, clear-mindedness and feel better than you have felt since childhood. On the downside, old injuries may become irritated and painful. This is a result of the body’s increased ability to heal during fasting. If you had broken your arm 10 years before, there is scar tissue around the break. At the time of the break, the body’s ability to heal was directly related to lifestyle. If you lived on a junk-food diet, the body’s natural healing ability was compromised. During fasting, the body’s healing process is at optimum efficiency. As the body scours for dead or damaged tissue, the lymphocytes enter the older, damaged tissue secreting substances to dissolve the damaged cells. These substances irritate the nerves in the surrounding region and cause a reoccurrence of aches from previously injured areas that may have disappeared years earlier. The pain is good as the body is completing the healing process. The muscles may become tight and sore due to toxin irritation. The legs can be the worst affected, as toxins accumulate in the legs. Cankers are common in this stage due to the excessive bacteria in the mouth. Daily gargling with salt and water will prevent or heal cankers.

**Stage 4 (Day 16 to Day 30) The body is completely adapted to the fasting process. There is more energy and clarity of mind. Cleansing periods can be short with many days of feeling good in between. There are days when the tongue is pink and the breath is fresh. The healing work of the organs is being completed. After the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or render it harmless, the body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue. While a short fast will reduce the symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal. Homeostatic balance is at optimum levels. The lymphatic system is clean except for a rare discharge of mucus through the nose or throat. After day 20, the mind is affected. Heightened clarity and emotional balance are felt at this time. Memory and concentration improve.

**Stage 5 (Breaking the Fast) The sticky, toxic, mucoid coating on the intestinal wall is loose, and the first meal frees it from the intestinal wall. Toxins enter the blood through the colon. The gallbladder dumps its waste in a heavy discharge of bile. This can cause an instant bowel movement upon eating followed by intense diarrhea. If the symptoms are too uncomfortable, an enema will help. (reposted from DesktopCommando's & Cynisterkitty's post)

Thanks for your interest and support. My intention is to create a group that goes beyond a classic 3/10/15/30/60 day reboot regimen into a reboot juicing/eating lifestyle shift. No need to re-gain pounds and re-do hard-earned rebooting efforts. I have reversed all disease, diabetes, chronic ailments, and have maintained and sustained a 150 pound weight loss with Daily Reboot Green & Rainbow Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFood eating lifestyle. (WFPB - means whole food plant-based ingredients, plant-based foods as close to their natural state as possible). . Please see the original feature at Reboot with Joe success profile at: http://bit.ly/1czS3JJ .

And the Two Year Anniversary Success Profile at: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/reboot-success-story-dan-miller/

There is also some behind the scenes footage, a video testimonial and a Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead commercial spot to view at ---> http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/dan-miller/

I completely understand and empathize where you all might be coming from - I have so been there and done that. The hardest part is just making the decision to commit to your self. It seems that once you make the decision to overcome confusing eating habits and make a change....the quick results and new found energy pumps you up to follow through, prevail and find success.

After watching my beloved Joe Cross & personal saviour Phil Staples in www.fatsickandnearlydead.com and with further reading of Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat to Live", "The China Study and WHOLE" by T. Colin Campbell and, watching the recommended "Forks Over Knives' documentary, I discovered that eating plant-based wholefoods and drinking green vegetable juices will in fact aid you to overcome highly addictive hyper-palatable foods like animal-derived products, dairy, fats & sugar and to overcome poor eating habits like; the excessive consumption of animal protein products, oil & cholesterol, refined sugar, high sodium and other nutrient deficient junk food, all which led to my obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and my wife's battle with osteo-arthritis and auto-immune diseases.

Be sure to review all the posts below starting on page one through to the present... there are videos, viewpoints, comments, pictures and links to aid you in your personal journey to lose weight and gain optimum health with Reboot Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFoodist attitude. I could make a number of suggestions while undertaking a reboot juice feast regimen or simply incorporating more fruits & veggies (whether juiced, blended or eaten whole) into your daily meal planning. First of all – Be Kind to Your Self! It took many years and lots of poor food choices to become overweight – It will take some time to lose it. Your body must be allowed to come into balance with phytonutrient dense plant-based foods. There will be plateaus during your weight loss journey – you’ll think nothing is happening, but it is. ************Avoid the scale to avoid disillusionment.......... Clean out your pantry to avoid temptation.****************

The weight will come off with reboot vegetable juicing and a plant-based food choice – but must be allowed to integrate and work with your level of conscious nutrition.

Free yourself from added eating stress and change the way you approach it. Forget dieting and just start a process of "Incorporating ~ Eliminating". Start incorporating a larger quantity of (cooked or raw, juiced or blended) plant-based whole foods like: green and rainbow color fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans-peas-legumes, nuts & seeds . Start eliminating and weeding out the SAD diet foods like: drive-through junk & hyperpalatable fast food, animal products (meats, seafood, shellfish, eggs), animal-derived products (dairy, butter, cheese, ice cream, whey, casein, lard), oil fat/sugar/sodium-laden processed, refined and packaged foods. .........>There is over 40 years of research supporting that a WholeFood–PlantBased (WFPB) eating lifestyle will rejuvenate & regenerate your whole body, will alleviate chronic annoying symptoms, and reverses degenerative diseases like: obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Reboot Juicing is a tool to discover and compliments a shift to including more plants into your daily eating habit.

------> Not only is plant-based whole foods the healthiest way of eating that has ever been studied, but it’s far more effective in promoting health and preventing disease than prescription drugs, surgery, vitamin and herbal supplementation, and genetic manipulation. A PlantBased Reboot Juicing lifestyle entails; No counting calories, No drowning in minutiae about what to eat or what not to eat --- just simplify and make wise health-promoting choices........ DRINK Vegetable Juices & EAT Plants!

This group is open to all exploring extreme weight loss with reboot vegetable juices and incorporating more plant-based nutrition. I have found that combining Reboot Juicing with a Plant-based whole food eating lifestyle has worked for extreme sustained weight loss and achieving optimum health - the results have been phenomenal.
