  • About: MS, RD, CSSD, LDN. Hello Rebooters! Welcome to the Reboot - I'm excited to be with you through this journey! Here's a little more about me: I'm a registered dietitian, wellness coach, and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and have been working as an RD for over a decade. I also have a masters in Nutrition Communications with an undergraduate in Nutrition as well as Exercise Science. When I'm not working with juicers, I see clients in my private practice and in my many consulting jobs. My home town is just outside of Boston, where I live with my husband our two young sons. In my free time I love to be physically active, paint, sing loudly, and experiment with food! As a huge advocate for juicing and plant-based diets, I believe that you should give your body the best! And I simply adore nutrition; food nourishes our bodies both physically and mentally. Our bodies are made to function in wholeness and wellness - healthy eating shouldn't be a chore but rather easy, natural, and delicious!

    I missed my web seminar for aug 2 (today) I thought we could replay them at a later time to watch. Does anyone know how to do that?

    Hi George!

    I've received both of your messages from today and yesterday and have responded to both - but this website is not "intuitive" - so it's hard to find the replies. You can find the replies by clicking on your "Inbox" once you're logged into the Community part of our website. You log in, then you'll see the Inbox to the upper right hand side of the page, under your username.

    Unfortunately, you can't watch the replay yet because our team has to upload it and that happens when they are back in the office usually the next morning. So you'll be able to access it today (8/3) around 10am EST. To watch the replay, you go to our group site and click on the orange "Watch Replays" button. To get to our group site you log in, click on your username, then scroll down and you can see the link to our group under your profile.

    I hope you are able to find all this stuff!! Let me know if you're able to find the messages as well as our group site!

    Well my internet has been down but I am a lean mean juicing machine. I am down 12 lbs and love the mean green juice. I don't see how to get around in here very well though. Who is my group. One button says to start a group and name it....then what? Aren't there general posts for people on THIS fast? Thanks. Laurie

    Oh gosh - I can't believe your internet has been down! First you want to log into the Community page. Then click on your profile (you'll see your screen name in the top right in a box). On your profile page, scroll to just below your profile, and ourur group link should be right there (It will say "30-Day Guided Reboot"). Click on that! Let me know if you can find it... !!

    Hi Rachel. So tomorrow is it! Yay! I did a fast once for my husbands health and one interesting thing about it was that they didn't want us to chew. Can you tell me what happens when you chew and why that would be a requirement? Thanks Laurie

    Hello there! We begin on August 2nd, very exciting!

    We actually would like you to chew when you are able! This is not a fast, which is technically not eating anything or drinking anything with calories. The Reboot it is simply having juice for a specific period of time. And during this journey, chewing your juice can actually be a good thing! Chewing juice, or moving it around in your mouth, stimulated more digestive enzyme from your saliva to mix with the juice and allow for better digestion and absorption. When we just drink it down, it moves too quickly and not enough digestive enzymes go with it.

    So for our Reboot journey, feel free to chew chew chew!

    Hi Neha,

    I did see your question and I answered it at 5:30am EST this morning. You have to look in your Inbox to find my reply, it's hard to find at first. I'm so glad you are enjoying the first day! Here is what I said (plus a link to where I wrote it at the bottom!) Let me know if you have additional questions.

    1. While we recommend avoiding all foods that are not vegetables or fruit (nuts do not fall within this category), this journey is certainly one that can be individualized. If you feel you really need them, then taking in 1 oz per day would likely be okay. But rather than using nuts, it may be better to choose a vegan unsweetened protein powder, such as pea protein powder. You can split up one scoop between your juices throughout the day to help keep your blood sugar more stable.

    2. Vitamin D and Fish liver oil you can certainly continue to take since these are not found in high amounts from the menus. For now, it may be best to stop the vitamins and potentially the primrose oil (why do you take this one?) until the journey is over.

    As for recommendations for weight loss: I've found that some women do better having 4 juices (the menus call for 5). So start with 5 juices and keep an eye on your weight as the journey continues. If you find your weight is not moving much on the menus, try going down to 4.

    Hi there!

    Welcome to your second Reboot - a 30 day to go for gold! Yes, since you ate all produce for 3 days prior to starting this journey, jumping into all juice is okay.

    Also, you can certainly use ground ginger instead of fresh. Try to purchase a new container of it so that it is as 'fresh' as possible and therefore with a bit more antioxidants and nutrients than one that has been sitting for a bit in the cupboard.

    I made juice a week ago ant pt in mason jars in fridge. Is it ok to drink today? Or should i toss? That's a lot of money to waste.

    Hi Prosperity,

    We recommend only keeping juices for 72 hours if kept in the fridge. This is due to decreases in nutrient content as well as potential for bacteria to proliferate. If you feel that you may not be drinking a juice within this period, I recommend freezing it - as juices can last up to a couple months if frozen. Just be sure to leave enough room in the jar for expansion of the juice to ensure that it does not break!

    Hi Sheila! What group are you in? Typically to find your Guided Reboot Group you can click on your name (upper right corner) to get to your profile page. Then scroll down below your profile and you will see all the Guided Reboot groups that you are part of. Simply click on your group to get to the Group Page!

    Hi Kangenwatergirl! You can find the journal by going to our group site (simply click on your name to get to your profile page, then click on our group "February 23rd 15-Day Guided Reboot"). Then you can find the Journal option below the Resources section (top left side of page).

    HI Rachel, I just signed up a couple days ago and have added a juice to my daily intake. I am very excited to join in the group,I need the support Im sure. I ama vegetarian except eggs, but I have lived on pre fab food.Now I have Hashimotos and meds have not helped the way I feel. I am a Mom of 5 boys, the youngest is 17, and 2 grandkids. I am graduating with my BSN in May. Am I in the right place..starts tomorrow??
