  • About: I am Jenn or Jenny - doesn't matter! *Wink*. I am in the NYC area, but a mid-west girl by heart and birth. Going for 60 pounds in 60 days!! Am right at the half way point. Just starting part II, the next 30 days for the whole Month of March I am juicing only!! I will repeat another 60 day reboot, but will deal with that later. I am taking it one juice and one step at a time!! Overall goal, weight loss! I am thanking the heavens, I do not battle any health issues, other than being quite overweight!! I love the freedom and strength that these silly little plants and veggies have given to me!! I love their colours, their textures, their tastes, and their nutrients. They are my saving grace. Rock on friends, and juice on!! -
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: To regain overall health and to lose weight. Also want to really be an example for my family. Have got them also to drink the juice, because of the nutrient value. As a whole, my family is healthy, and correct body size. It is only me, that is always in the shadows because of being overweight. The funny thing I was not overweight my whole life. Rather was an athlete. So, in my mind, I am still very competitive, and I know I could do so much more. Or I could recover faster. So, the goal is to get 60 off for now. Then work on another 60.
  • Favorite Juice? Really I have not found a juice I don't like. I do love fennel!
  • Food temptation? Fried and savory are my downfall!!!

Well thanks for the comment.....but I did not slip. Not so far, thank god! It was Michelle and Katiejay that talked about a small slip or speed bump!! I was also encouraging them not to give up or start all over simply for that!! And I agree some days, sawdust might seem enticing...thank god, though for the juice. It has held me over and I have been able to continue this journey with no slip ups!! On my last week!! Yeah

Hi Friends!! Happy Monday morning to you juicers!!

Weekly Monday weigh in: 4.5 pounds loss!! Day 49 of 60.

Had a busy weekend, lots of outside activities. But, never wavered on my juicing!! Matter of fact, yesterday at the temple I attend, they had a fancy Sunday feast. This was a special feast. So, the temple had every possible delicious vegetarian/vegan food available. I even helped in the preparation of several food items. Great times were had!!! And yes, I had my bottles of juices and just drank them with the same celebration!! One lady that I had not seen for a while told me, "you look so skinny!!" Wow. How nice that was.

So it seems, my body is sort of going through a phase. Where I am loosing 4.5 every week. At first I was disappointed. But, since that is nearly 20 a month - I am not going to complain. I feel strong, I see my body firming up, and that is what I want. Instead of shedding weight too fast, I will be satisfied with a little slower, but maintaining muscle, and helping my body to firm up!

As April is nearing, I am planning to really get regular in my exercise routine. The last month has been on and off. This is my April goal, to really be regular in cardio and muscle building.

Today is a simple update. I love the color of beets when I juice them. So vibrant!! I love the color of sweet potatoes when I cut them in preparation for juicing!! So pretty. And plain carrot juice is so pure and nutritious looking. It all seems so crazy and simple. Our parents told us to eat our veggies and fruits.......and now we come full circle. So, we are now appreciating the lessons we were taught as kids!! Just wish Mom would have mentioned to leave all the unhealthy crap off the top of the veggies......you all know what those toppings are!!

Enjoy your hump day folks!! Juice on....the weekend is coming near!

    Hi Jenny,

Thanks for the inspiring words. You are a great inspiration. I also am trying to lose 90 in 90 if I can hold on, and when I see what you are doing it makes me want to keep juicing and going on. I am determined to be a success story! I know you will breeze through the next 30 days just like you did the first 30.

  • OrangeCrush

Hey Mike: 90 in 90 that is awesome! And why not!! You can do it!! I will join you half way into that. After I finish my 60 day, (March 27) I am going to take about a 4 day 'vegan' break. Then join back for another 60. So, I will need your support through it all!!! When it gets hard, one thing I try, I think of it in only 10 day blocks of days. After 10 days, I try to juice something really special that I like. Or, do something special with the family to celebrate. Before, we might eat unhealthy to celebrate but now, we are doing healthy activities to celebrate!! BTW, has your system calmed down from all the mustard greens?? They are tough to juice, I have only juice them once! I prefer kale/spinach/red leaf lettuce etc.

  • Jen M

I only have about 25 pounds left to get to my goal, so I am starting my fast on Friday for 30 days. after that I'm going to do a mixture of juicing and raw eating for a month, and hopefully that will do it!

  • OrangeCrush

Hey Jen, was thinking about your parents today. Isn't that crazy? I was thinking, they say, the family that prays together stays together, and I think the family that juices together also stays, grows, and learns together!!! Say hi to the folks for me!! You start Friday right? Congratulations girl!!! You will blow through 25!!!

@Janegray: AAAAh, that was so kind of you!! I appreciate you, really I do. Not too many people know I am juicing. I am the silent type. I do my business, and hold tightly what I am doing. But, on this forum, was hoping to be able to share my ups, and downs!!! So, your post, urging me to celebrate really means a lot! I will indeed to a happy dance Ms. Jane Gray!!!

Thanks for your interest and support. My intention is to create a group that goes beyond a classic 3/10/15/30/60 day reboot regimen into a reboot juicing/eating lifestyle shift. No need to re-gain pounds and re-do hard-earned rebooting efforts. I have reversed all disease, diabetes, chronic ailments, and have maintained and sustained a 150 pound weight loss with Daily Reboot Green & Rainbow Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFood eating lifestyle. (WFPB - means whole food plant-based ingredients, plant-based foods as close to their natural state as possible). . Please see the original feature at Reboot with Joe success profile at: http://bit.ly/1czS3JJ .

And the Two Year Anniversary Success Profile at: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/reboot-success-story-dan-miller/

There is also some behind the scenes footage, a video testimonial and a Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead commercial spot to view at ---> http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/dan-miller/

I completely understand and empathize where you all might be coming from - I have so been there and done that. The hardest part is just making the decision to commit to your self. It seems that once you make the decision to overcome confusing eating habits and make a change....the quick results and new found energy pumps you up to follow through, prevail and find success.

After watching my beloved Joe Cross & personal saviour Phil Staples in www.fatsickandnearlydead.com and with further reading of Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat to Live", "The China Study and WHOLE" by T. Colin Campbell and, watching the recommended "Forks Over Knives' documentary, I discovered that eating plant-based wholefoods and drinking green vegetable juices will in fact aid you to overcome highly addictive hyper-palatable foods like animal-derived products, dairy, fats & sugar and to overcome poor eating habits like; the excessive consumption of animal protein products, oil & cholesterol, refined sugar, high sodium and other nutrient deficient junk food, all which led to my obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and my wife's battle with osteo-arthritis and auto-immune diseases.

Be sure to review all the posts below starting on page one through to the present... there are videos, viewpoints, comments, pictures and links to aid you in your personal journey to lose weight and gain optimum health with Reboot Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFoodist attitude. I could make a number of suggestions while undertaking a reboot juice feast regimen or simply incorporating more fruits & veggies (whether juiced, blended or eaten whole) into your daily meal planning. First of all – Be Kind to Your Self! It took many years and lots of poor food choices to become overweight – It will take some time to lose it. Your body must be allowed to come into balance with phytonutrient dense plant-based foods. There will be plateaus during your weight loss journey – you’ll think nothing is happening, but it is. ************Avoid the scale to avoid disillusionment.......... Clean out your pantry to avoid temptation.****************

The weight will come off with reboot vegetable juicing and a plant-based food choice – but must be allowed to integrate and work with your level of conscious nutrition.

Free yourself from added eating stress and change the way you approach it. Forget dieting and just start a process of "Incorporating ~ Eliminating". Start incorporating a larger quantity of (cooked or raw, juiced or blended) plant-based whole foods like: green and rainbow color fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans-peas-legumes, nuts & seeds . Start eliminating and weeding out the SAD diet foods like: drive-through junk & hyperpalatable fast food, animal products (meats, seafood, shellfish, eggs), animal-derived products (dairy, butter, cheese, ice cream, whey, casein, lard), oil fat/sugar/sodium-laden processed, refined and packaged foods. .........>There is over 40 years of research supporting that a WholeFood–PlantBased (WFPB) eating lifestyle will rejuvenate & regenerate your whole body, will alleviate chronic annoying symptoms, and reverses degenerative diseases like: obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Reboot Juicing is a tool to discover and compliments a shift to including more plants into your daily eating habit.

------> Not only is plant-based whole foods the healthiest way of eating that has ever been studied, but it’s far more effective in promoting health and preventing disease than prescription drugs, surgery, vitamin and herbal supplementation, and genetic manipulation. A PlantBased Reboot Juicing lifestyle entails; No counting calories, No drowning in minutiae about what to eat or what not to eat --- just simplify and make wise health-promoting choices........ DRINK Vegetable Juices & EAT Plants!

This group is open to all exploring extreme weight loss with reboot vegetable juices and incorporating more plant-based nutrition. I have found that combining Reboot Juicing with a Plant-based whole food eating lifestyle has worked for extreme sustained weight loss and achieving optimum health - the results have been phenomenal.

  • Reboot for the month of April. NO "FOOD TALK"

    Members: 117

    Latest activity: 07/06/2016 05:46 PM

Let's start spring with a swift kick and do a reboot for the month of April. Our group began in March; some started and some left...but many stayed. This group is for anyone who wants to do a full juice fast. That means no solids are eaten OR talked about. If you feel that you need to be eating while juicing, there are other groups that have that as their focus. If you slip while on your reboot, just tell us that you slipped without going into specifics...and continue on. "Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible. Suddenly you're doing the impossible." St. Francis of Assisi
