Optimistic cat

  • About: I have been over weight since the my first pregnancy when I was just 16. Before that I was very active, done ALOT of sport, dancing daily and 8stone/112lbs. I put weight on fast when I left home and got pregnant. As the years have gone on I have yoyo dieted but never lost more that 2 stone then put that back on quickly plus an additional few pounds. Following a fall that resulted in a break in my knee I have had to have two surgeries on both my knee's and the recovery has been hard, even moving to a ground floor apartment so that I no longer had to struggle with stairs! I'm only 45....two failed marriages and four beautiful grown up children. As I type this I'm crying because although my children love me, they have never truely seen me at my best and definitely never seen my slim! I have fast many times before for 3 or 5 days but with consultation from a doctor the hospital I work at and the support of my partner (who is also going to give it a try but not as rigid...he doesn't need to) I'm gonna give it a go!! Currently...i'm depressed!! I have the most beautiful partner I could ever ask for, my four beautiful children, a job as a nurse that I adore and a lovely home but I'm unhappy and I've realised just recently following a lot of pain after a shift on a ward that HEALTH HAS TO COME BEFORE WEALTH! My current health problems are morbid obesity, extreme joint pain especially in my knees, constant acid reflux, lethargy and depression. My current meds are for pain 7 a day and reflux 1-2 per day. I also take a calcium supplement daily....when I remember!!!
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: Recently watched the amazing and very inspiring FSAND....what an eye opener! I have bought myself a juicer and although I'm not 100% motivated (I'm only 99%] I am raring to go. I have just finished watching the documentary AGAIN and noticed the website. I've succeeded short term on "dieting" due to group support so I'm hoping the forum on here will be my life line!
  • Favorite Juice? I would thing fruit based rather than veg...but I will try anything!
  • Food temptation? Fast food!!!!!!!!!!!

misskitty, you can do it! I thought that I messed up when I ate the fruit for the 2 days however I found out that this is called the modified reboot. Not that I'm trying not to juice. I still lost weight, blood pressure went down and a rash about 1" in diameter is almost gone.

Today is day 9 for me. I ate a pear, kiwi, 2 apples. I ordered a used Breville BJE510XL off of eBay and the seller has a 100% satisfaction rate. I should be getting it on Wednesday. I need to get water today. I have stuff to juice with but the clean up and it had to juice apples because my juicer makes it like apple sauce. I don't know what to do. Shall I start anew on Wednesday and eat the stuff that I have for a salad and just raw or start back again. I sorry to hear about your abdominal pain. I went out to get 2 Redbox movies and wanted to get chips and french fries. Yesterday all I had again was water so that probably why I ate those things this morning. I'll talk to you later. I'll get on here in a couple of days.

Doing great Optimistic cat, going thru menopausal symptoms and reboot you are a courageous lady. Wow! I haven't sweated in a long time because I lived a very sedentary life. Just juicing makes me look like I just got out of the swimming pool. I hope that what juliecat says will work for you as well or as they say "This to shall pass". Other than the sweats how are you doing?

thought I was going to end up in a&e dept last night. I had really bad abdominal pain. I was told I had a spasm and started on buscopan but my own doctor is seeing me tomorrow. I'm ok. Trying to stay focused but at the moment there's more water and herbal tea than juice today. How are you getting on? You sound full of the joys of spring xx

Hey there, just wanted to say thanks for your posts! You're a few days ahead of me so you have been a big help in letting me know what to expect. Your humor and candor is refreshing and inspiring and I am rooting for you. BTW I can relate about the sweat - at times I would sweat so bad it would run in rivulets down my head. I know that's gross but I have really thick hair and it just makes it worse. Haven't had any sweats for the past 2 days though. Maybe that will happen for you too!

hey Juliecat, my sweats were due to having a run on my treadmill that has been used as a clothes hanger since I moved in a couple of months ago! The menopausal sweats are looming though, every so often at work lately I have been sweating just sitting in my clinic doing nothing!! WHAT A RIDE!!!! Lol thanks for rooting for me, that's so sweet. First person to ever do that lol. This is an amazing journey and talking to you all about it is better than any sliming club I've ever been too! Mind you I used to get weighed in then go for a kebab afterwards as a "reward" that just catches up with you in the end which is probably why I've never lost more that 2-3 stone before giving up. Lol! I would eat a kebab like a crack addict snorts coke rite now lmao! (I wouldn't) the thought of it makes me sick to be honest. I've found myself watching loads of documentaries on Netflix and you rude about the food industry and food addiction....real eye opener. If you get a chance please find some. I can give you some suggestions, "food for thought" & "the skinny on obesity" which I watched last night and it blew my mind! Watching these doco's are making me think about the future and I I need to address my eating habits. Well worth a watch.

I better update my page.....not a good day today so I hope you have a read.

Big hugs my friend. JUICE ON!!! Xx
