Day 2: I felt amazing when I got out of the house and walked all the way to work. Not sure if it's my level of energy spiking up or maybe it's just a beautiful day out but one thing I know for sure, is that I'm looking forward to going to the fresh produce market nearby and picking up more veggies after work!

I wanna make a purple juice tonight :)

This was posted by one of the coaches on another board, I've decided to post this onto my profile for future reference <3

I truly value information like this.. At least if I hit a bump in the road (and I most likely will) I can go back and read this got some extra motivation :)

    ---------------------------

As you go through a longer Reboot, weight naturally slows for several reasons, but the primary reason are natural plateaus that occur.

It turns out that there are several types of plateaus, almost everyone goes through at least one of them.

The first type of plateau happens every time you lose about 10 to 15% of your body weight. This is because the metabolism needs time to 'catch up' with your new body weight. So you may stall in your weight loss for a few days until your metabolism revs back up... but you will continue to lose weight after that.

The second type of plateau happens when you drastically reduce calories (which sometimes happens on the Reboot!). You’ll lose weight rapidly at first, but then can reach a point where very little additional weight is lost – even though calories are being restricted. This type of plateau can happen within a few weeks of starting a diet.

Why does this happen? Severely cutting calories leads to loss of sodium from the body – and wherever sodium goes, water follows. That means the dramatic weight loss seen in the first couple week is primarily water, not fat.

The third plateau (which is very similar to the first and may be linked or go hand-in-hand) can occur weeks to months into your healthy eating and exercise regimen and is a result of your metabolism slowing down. The speed of your metabolism indicates how fast or slow you’re burning calories. Changes in metabolism may happen for two main reasons:

** Thyroid hormone activity lowers causing a reduction in your metabolism. ** The pounds that have already been shed decrease your body size, decreasing the amount of calories your body needs to perform its daily functions, such as breathing, pumping your heart, and moving around.

The good news is that you will get past these plateaus! With a little patience, sticking with your eating plan / juicing, and changing up your exercise routine (or starting one!) -- the weight should start to come off again.

A group for those interested in not only doing a reboot but using it as a tool to effect serious change in your life. Use this opportunity to kick cravings out, face mental demons, load up on tons of fruits and vegetables and start living the life you always knew you could! I just completed my first 60 day juice only reboot on Thanksgiving (11-28-14) and lost 40lbs!!!! I felt great and still do but am not mentally where I want to be with food yet and physically still need to lose about 40lbs. So, I enjoyed my month after Thanksgiving to Christmas eating a mostly vegan diet and am ready to kick off another 60 day juice reboot. All are welcome, newbies and veterans alike, and although I am doing juice only and hope others will join me, all rebooters are welcome whether you juice only or don't or if it is for 60 days or 3. Let's join together and encourage one another to freedom!!!!
