Just reading your wall posts makes me want a juice. I'm going into the kitchen and having a Tomatoe, kale, Celery, cucumber and pizza spice juice.

I had one of these contraptions years ago but sadly had to part with it before I left OZ to live in Bkk. Even my kids loved getting on it!

Began last night Maxene...ongoing, a family re-union of sorts.
I'm not blood but very close. So far, so good.

Announced I was on a dietary restraint and did not discuss reboot.
They accepted that, for a moment. Then the prying began!
    The "so" questions ensued.
['So, are you under doctors orders?'; 'So, that's just for today, right?': 'So, your not turning into a vegan, are you?']

I told them I appreciated having others I could talk with if needed and topped off my water.

    Seemed to work, so far!

    Thanks guys!
I'd have to admit that old eating habits still cast a strong attraction.
Even the veggies off the grill gather to whisper my name.
The meat looked good too and smelled better.
Maybe someday yes, the veggies. The meat not so sure.
Am certain: it's juice & water for me...today, this day!

The best execise gizmo I've ever tried I got second hand (on the cheap) for this reboot, a Gazelle. It is surprising how many positions and muscle groups it works out, offering cardio and some resistance, without beating up my joints! And, it really revs up my metabolism.

Hi Duke - good on you for staying strong. For whatever it is worth, I had roast beef yesterday at the resort buffet and it honestly didn't taste that great (in fact it actually tasted... well, dead). After 40 days on a modified reboot, my taste buds must have switched -- those big butter beans from the olive bar taste a lot better than meat - in fact, they taste surprisingly like steak! Haha! I'm thinking meat once a month as a special occasion treat after reaching my goals and am sticking to The Big Five: Veggies, Beans, Fruits, Nuts and Seeds. Restaurant Junkies like us have to stick together - and get a whole lot pickier about what we will eat. Juice on!

Hi < been struggling to stay where I want to be. I juice during the day but have a small pack of nuts for snack and maybe squash for dinner because I just cannot seem to get through the day any other way. Now its been 12 days and I am liking this and have lost about 7lbs . Today my friend wants to go out for fish and chips being Scottish cannot resist the temptation until today. I would go in a heartbeat any other time but,I thought (oh no you don,t this is a test and a great way to destroy what i have done so you are not on as we say in Scotland I have work to hard to give in now to a potato. So Duke we are not all great at staying on track but we can hang in there . I am about to start using my wii does anyone else have one we can network together

. So here I am on this site hoping someone can relate to me I also need some reboot friends

    Haven't acquired a wii as yet peggy2002z.
I relate to what you say: 'give in to a potatoe'.

For me, this Reboot is about a significant reboot in life.
Kinda like a change of seasons; with a real change or shift in me.

I look at the foods that got me where my body is and realize I did not know any better.
They look appealing because I'm familiar and they were habitual.
New choices are forging new habits.

As Joes suggests in his Reboot book, I've found it helpful to add some plant-based protein powder to some (not all) of my juices. That seemed valid as I'm excercising more as suggested on the topic of this site and by numerous rebooters. I've not done that with regularity since childhood. It helps so very muck! It must kick-in the endorphines because I simply feel great when I do. The body is spinning out a bunch of toxins during reboot and the lymph system is passive- it NEEEDS to pump and exercise is the ticket! Even light exercise.

Now as for that "potatoe", it reminds me of an electric fence:

Peggy, this site is full of friends. Come visit "Need Buddies For Support". You too Duke, I see you've already stopped by. Was wanting to read your page. Doing a great job and your determination is what will continue to make this a success for you. It's all in your head.

Reboot life and change of seasons says it all for me.

hi Duke, I know it can be tough and you might not want to discuss certain things but may humbly I suggest you be as generous as you can. people will be curious, they will want to know what you are up to as they care about you (or are just steaky beaks).

you may not need to say "I dont want to discuss it', a bit harsh, just answer the question in a relaxed fashion, then ask them a question about themselves to change the topic - people are much more interested in talking about themselves than grilling you.

eg "enough about that what are you doing next weekend, on the holidays, with your life, what have you cooked there, how are your children, mother; how is work, how is your crazy sister in law, etc etc . Gentle deflection!!!!

chug a heap of juice before and take a heap with you. let the host know before hand that you'll be bringing your own juice meal (polite as they will be catering for you and also takes the heat off from them). Relax - you are a grown up you can eat whatever pleases you. Part of this for me has been to become more my best self for me and more direct, but also less defensive, I hope this is helpful.

My friend says 'oh your talking about juicing "snore" so boring!" LOL.

How is your juicing going Duke? Have been getting enough protein? That's always a challenge for me, especially when doing a lot of exercise. Even now that I'm juicing. And back on solids, getting enough protein is a challenge (I'm not eating red meat and eating minimal animal protein).

Stay well and keep on the journey!

  • MovedOn

Going well Kevin. Still going through some "first five days" challenges, especially getting enough water! Added exercise...can tell it's helping clear out the lymph system!

  • Nivekl

That's great Duke! And yes, we're always working out the bugs!

Yes - water is so critical! I also found coconut water helped tremendously, particularly when I was working out a lot and sweating.

In your neck of the woods and this time of year, you almost need to wear a cooler pack just to walk outside, never mind exercising out of doors (Maxene too would know all about the heat!).

So stay cool, brother! Rock on and happy juicing!

That's right Kevin, it's why I bought the Gazelle and set it up on a shady spot on my patio with a fan blowing on me with chilled coconut water on i.v. drip. Well, kiddin about that last, but the bike riding had to stop till weight peels off.

Purple Carrots dunno why, yet they seem more than alluring.

Purple is a higher vibration, perhaps a frequency range I might could use more of. Dunno.

Is there anything violet that can be juiced?
