Hi again Mary, I am really interested to know what you have noticed in your body having made and drunk bone broth and also how you make yours?

    Cheers Roz

    Hi Mary,

You look absolutely radiant, and I know this pic is probably the original one but somehow that juicing effort is shining through!

While we were on our reboot, Stacy suggested I add some oil to 2 daily juices, and then add 1/2 avocado each day to a juice or a broth, because of my heart palpitations, and because I am in the risk zone for type 2 diabetes according to my blood tests I sent her! I have to say that I was very grateful about this and it made all the difference in my days as I was having loads of ups and downs and not feeling all that great....then when she asked us what our plans were after the 15 days, I said I wanted to do 555 or 5 10 5 again and she said I would probably do much better if I simply added a meal to my juice days and continue juicing so I could be nourished and then still stay on my weight loss plan, so have done just that. So the bone broth is a new addition, and I think it is great!

I came across it from info sent to me via diet doctor, describing a recent seminar in S.A. and when I looked up all the doctors, I came across Jason Fung who has info on youtube all about diabetes and obesity, which I found to be extremely interesting, so decided to follow the bone broth fasting as well. I have not started full days with broth only as yet, but I have made it and do love it so it is interchanged with the veggie pulp broth I make, and some organic veggie broth I buy at Costco. I cannot yet attest to results I have had as it is early days, but it sure tastes good. Stacy says Intermittent Fasting is all the rage, and her comments are also in our private website too!

By the way congratulations for continuing on, this is fantastic. Have you lost lots of weight? Are you feeling strong these days and I hope you make it to your goal, and it sounds like you may very well do so!!!!

    Juice on with great success.

Yes I am feeling better for the most part. I wish I had a little more energy, but perhaps I am not moving around enough while here taking care of my parents. I will hopefully be inspired to hit the treadmill at my place when I get back home. I know I also need to start doing some weight training but it is hard to know how to start. That will be my next obstacle to tackle. I did actually watch a program featuring Joel Furman on PBS today called "End Dieting Forever". I am thinking I might head in that direction once I decide to stop the reboot. It is still vegan but it mainly focuses on "G-BOMBS" (Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds). It is just a thought for now, but trying to look ahead as to what is next for me.

Day 24 and still going strong. Orange juice (Joe's Morning OJ) for breakfast (1 yellow pepper, 1 orange pepper, 1 large carrot, 1/2 green apple, 1/2 lemon). I LOVE this juice! The green ones are hard to take for me but I make it through them. I enjoy the gazpacho for my mid afternoon juice. Then since Day 15 my dinner has been the Green Island Smoothie in Joe's book with some of my variations at times. I use 2 large handfuls of spinach (prob 3 cups or so), 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado, brown rice protein powder, frozen mango cubes, 1 cup coconut water, and sometimes throw in a few blueberries and a small chunk of fresh pineapple. I got a nutri ninja blender and it works wonderfully for this. I appreciate that Joe's books say that whatever works for each individual in this pursuit is good. Some may say the addition of the smoothies doesn't qualify for the reboot, but from the different examples of what people at Joe's business did in their own reboots I think it does because I have been completely raw vegan for 24 days now. And the smoothie's extra fiber has helped the constipation that became an issue with the straight juicing (after the first several days of 'cleaning out' at the start of the reboot). Hope everyone is doing well and feeling fine. Juice on!

Just completed Day 18. Feeling good and in this for the long haul. I have a dr appt in mid Feb and am determined to stay with the juicing until at least after that (over 30 days) so I can see how it has affected my bloodwork. If everything turns out well then I may continue for another 30 days as long as I feel good. Juice on!

I have blood work coming up again on March 5th. I too am hoping for some big changes. I ended up on blood pressure meds in December. I'd like to get off them. Hopefully that will happen.

Today is Day 14 and I am excited and amazed that I have continued for so long. Hopefully I can keep at it for at least 30 and perhaps 60 days. I did the first 10 days at home which was probably good since they were the toughest. I made lots of juices ahead to bring with me - along with my juicer- as I traveled to my elderly parents' house to help take care of them for a couple weeks. I am amazed that I have been able to stay with this completely while fixing meals for them these past 4 days since I always considered myself to have next to zero willpower - I guess that is proof that all these amazingly healthy veggies and fruits are what my body has been craving for - so it is quite content and not giving me any reason to stray from this new healthy lifestyle. Juice on!

This is a support group for those of us with a little snow on the roof, but anyone is welcome. I just think the Senior group needs representation. We want to stay vital and keep the Grim Reaper away from our doors as long as possible. I believe good nutrition is paramount to this goal. If we help each other, I KNOW we can succeed. I've been Juicing for a year off and on, so I have seen the benefits.

A group for those interested in not only doing a reboot but using it as a tool to effect serious change in your life. Use this opportunity to kick cravings out, face mental demons, load up on tons of fruits and vegetables and start living the life you always knew you could! I just completed my first 60 day juice only reboot on Thanksgiving (11-28-14) and lost 40lbs!!!! I felt great and still do but am not mentally where I want to be with food yet and physically still need to lose about 40lbs. So, I enjoyed my month after Thanksgiving to Christmas eating a mostly vegan diet and am ready to kick off another 60 day juice reboot. All are welcome, newbies and veterans alike, and although I am doing juice only and hope others will join me, all rebooters are welcome whether you juice only or don't or if it is for 60 days or 3. Let's join together and encourage one another to freedom!!!!
