I really appreciate all the support from fellow rebooters. It is vital support needed during the reboot process as it is a mental challenge. You are all champions and deserve much more than any Thank You can deliver.
- About: I`m blessed with a beautiful wife and four children. I have always loved learning about fitness and nutrition my whole life trying to understand it`s impact on my body. I began sharing that information with others and have been working in the fitness industry since 1997. It is so very rewarding to help other people learn how to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle. I love being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature while pursuing some form of activity. Being active in the outdoors reenergizes my soul and brings me a sense of calming in life.
- Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: After watching `Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead` I saw a little bit of myself in Joe. I too had started a business in financial services and with trying to juggle the balance of family and two businesses, life and the passing of time has had it`s effect on me as well. The addition of extra unwanted weight gain, decreased flexibility & fitness level, have made me rethink my priorities. I want to be the best role model I can, most importantly for our children, my family and also for many people in life who truly want to change.

Over the short introduction into juicing I have been pleasantly surprised. I didn't feel any more hungry than if I had been eating food. Although mentally it felt as if I should be eating solids, that must just be the mind adjusting from the previous norm. I know I was getting more vitamins and nutrients than in my normal dietary intake and thus I feel the urge to continue juicing for my health and well being. I am convinced if we don't eat the vegetables in our daily intake then at least we should be drinking our vegetables and fruits. I'm ere ally interested in the long term affects to my health, I can only imagine my health will improve as time goes on and the more juice I add to my daily nutrition.
Day 4 - Ok, I made it 4 days and I have to travel over the next 4 days which I've been worried about since starting the reboot. I may start over when I get back. Still can't believe I made it 4 whole days. Amazing!
Day 3 - Went a little better I had a really tough time wanting to eat something though. I tried a few more recipes and was a bit surprised by how they turned out. Still tough though not eating any solid food.
Hey Mark .. I notice that much of what you drink is fruit. I've taken the stance that 80/20 meaning 80% veg and 20% fruit for all drinks. Nothing wrong with a little more fruit in the morning, but the rest of the day should be more veg than fruit. Hope this helps.
First week is the hardest (remember Joe said he was in bed for the first three days)
I feel the green drinks are delicious and really really grow on you too. Any time in tired I drink one, or even if I'm at home and think about food or eating I do a shot glass. Personally, I'm only drinking one fruit drink in the morning then green all day. I just feel more greens is way to go over juice. (Just my opinion) Last night I experimented and concocted: vegetable surprise/ 1 large sweet potato, 2 lrg tomato, 1/2 onion, 1 cucumber, 2 heads of romaine, 3 carrots, bit of basil. It was so good similar to a cold Tomato basil soup. I'm own day five and last night my fiancé commented on my energy level & tried all my creations, today I sent him off to work with one in the morning and one in the afternoon along with his healthy turkey sandwich. He called me mid morning before he usually eats his sandwich and said he felt amazing and wanted to watch the movie with me tonight. He may not dive in entirely but if I can get him to incorporate at least three a day w/ healthy eating he will improve and possibly then be all in . Good for your wife !!!! Good luck! It is all so mental (I miss food & chewing but I will not talk about it)
Day 2 - Well today I started with a orange juice because I could stomach another green juice right away. Then I had another fruit and cucumber juice for lunch. Now off to the gym to see how that goes. I'm hoping the reduced calories in my dietary intake won't effect my workouts to much. I have always lifted weights and done cardio on a regular basis so we'll see how this goes. Hopefully this will help with leaning out a bit. I have to say I'm not excited about liquid meals all day and having so many greens in those juices, i'd rather have more of the fruit variety juices, but feel that may be too much sugar. Any ideas?
Our kids have tried a few juices and I believe a morning Fresh Juice may become the norm around the breakfast table. The kids are getting a bit of bonus education about nutrition as well. My wife has joined me on this Reboot, so it's nice to have a support team with you at home. I think she's taking it easier than I am.
Key: Stay busy and stop thinking about your other food options. Leave the old habits behind and focus on the new you!
Day 1 - What a new experience. I was all excited and ready for change and then it hits you. Your not sure how to respond and what to think. I felt ok during the day except for the initial upset stomach from the red pepper I had with my morning juice and then the higher acid of a lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange and celery juice I had mid day. I really wanted to just eat some food though. I didn't experience any change in energy, just a desire to eat or chew on something.
