  • About: I'm 37, going to be 38 in May. I have a physical disability called Tetra-Amelia. I was born without arms or legs. Doctors had offered no reasons as to why I was born without limbs. It was just a fluke of nature. Statistically, the chances of this happening were one in a million. My parents never sheltered me from the world. They didn't treat me like I had a disability. My life has been pretty normal. I graduated high school and went onto a 4 year college where I majored with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Graphics, with a minor in Advertising. After college, I was living on my own, and working at a part-time job, where I found my soul-mate, Joseph. Joseph never treated me like I had a disability. He saw who I was on the inside. He was caring and always looked out for my well being. Joseph and I have been happily married since 2008. In August of 2010, I started my own Graphic Design business. My life is pretty great, but I want more. I want to not be overweight, and I hope someday Joseph and I will have a family of our own.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I've struggled with being overweight all my life. I had low esteem throughout my life, until I met my husband. Since we have been married we have been trying to have children. I have tried so many diets and they would work for a bit, but all of them eventually failed because I would end up putting back on all the weight I had lost and then some. The reason why I want to try reboot, and feel really excited in trying reboot, is because I want to lose weight so my husband and I can hopefully be able to have children. I also feel that I will feel so much better about myself as well.
  • Food temptation? I love food! I especially love sweets! Anything with chocolate!

Hello there Marilee-( love your name by the way)

I was just surfing through seeing what's new and I thought I'd check in and see how your doing?? Have you started juicing yet?? I'm currently doing a modified juice fast... basically 2 juices and a healthy dinner with periodic all juice days. I'm diabetic so I'm taking the slow route till my health improves but I love juicing and creating juices. I'm with you..if I could make a chocolate juice...I'd juice 24/7 lol! Hope all is well and have fun with your juice!!

    Hi sci-girl!

Thank you so much for checking in. I really appreciate it. My husband and I started the 15 day plan on Friday (1/31). The first 2 days went well. On the 3rd day(Sunday) a family emergency came up and we were at the hospital all day. We were not able to made the juices/smoothes/meals for that day. On Monday, we continued the day 3 of the meal plan, and are still continuing it. My husband said he has lost 5 pounds since we started this on Friday (1/31)! Not sure about me. I haven't weighed myself yet. Yesterday, we started to go swimming to get some exercise in. I'm glad to hear that your juicing is going well too. Slow and steady is very good to get healthy as well! Thanks again for the checking in on me! Feels good know someone is caring about our progress. :)

Kiwi's juicing for health. New Zealand is a small country at the foot of the world but we face big issues with health. Using the healthy fruit and veg we have in this country and the power of our juicers we will get there. Discussions of local products, problems with equipment, supporting each other and locking into the "No. 8 wire" do it yourself Kiwi Passion and dropping that weight and grabbing on to health.
