My Husband and I did a 3 day juice fast 2 weeks ago. We ate mostly raw foods for 3 days before. By day 3 I had really had enough and was looking forward to real food. we had salad as a first meal and I ended up giving in to a slice of fresh cooked bread. However my tummy didn't cope very well and I ended up in the toilet.
We are braving a 10 day reboot the 11th of may and then in July or August are going to do attempt a 60 day reboot after watching the movie last weekend.
we ordered a slow juicer on the weekend as we had borrowed a friends to see how it went..a champion...which we decided no way were we going to manage a 60 days of juicing with one of those. So recently borrowed another friends oscar and decided that style of juicer was sooo much better and oxidations lower.
we juiced whatever we could find in the shop which was a little of everything in each juice LOL no recipes as such
so is there any tips anyone has for a 10 day reboot? anything we could have done different?
I am 45 and have heel spurs and degenaritive arthritis in my lower back so don't do much exercise as well as hypothyroidism and some other health problems just starting. I also weigh 115kgs so am wanting to try and get healthier and lose some weight as well.
I have tried just about everything else...last year I lost about 15kgs but it took about 8 months I was exercising 4 times a week for abouy 45 minutes to an hour and the dr even tried duromine on me which didn't do much either. I had pretty much given up on ever finding something which would help...then a friend was talking about fat sick and nearly dead...so I looked up juicing and did the 3 days. I lost 3kgs over the 3 days and had a bit more energy so am keen to try for longer.
No my diet presently is not bad...I am not and never have been someone who sits and stuffs their face all day or eats 4 litres of icecream in one sitting or 2 pizzas at one meal and that's another reason it's been so frustrating for me trying to lose weight. My body just doesnt respond how it should and I am really hoping to change that by rebooting.
My husband is also slightly overweight, he was about 15 kgs more over weight when he met me due to stress mainly, but he needs to lose about 15 kgs to be in his weight range.
anyway yeah any tips or great recipes (bearing in mind we are in the outback and vegies are never very fresh and more expensive than Perth.)
