- About: I'm a wife and stay-at-home, work-at-home mom to a very active preschooler with some special needs. I love reading, writing, and travel, among other things. I've recently been on a journey to downsize/simplify my family's life to have the freedom to do more things. I've also realized that I need to downsize myself as well so that I can do more things with my husband and daughter in the future.
- Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I've struggled with my weight most of my adult life but the past 7 years have been especially bad due to job loss, depression, struggle to become a mother, etc. It seems like when times of crisis come along I stop taking care of myself because I feel that other problems are "more important". Of course that isn't true, I need to take care of myself so that I can better handle the problems that come along. It's just doesn't come easily to me to think that way. I've tried numerous diets and some have worked, for a while, but I always gained it back. I feel like rebooting is superior to many of the other plans I've tried because the increase of nutrition will help my body heal itself and hopefully reduce some of the cravings I struggle with.

This group is inspired by all the amazing people I have met in this community who, like me, have or had 100 lbs or more to lose when starting this journey with our wonderful Joe Cross:) There are special challenges in this world for those of us who are "morbidly obese" and there are some incredibly inspirational people around here conquering those challenges every day. Come be inspired and inspiring!

Even if you think that your comment might be funny or written in a joking manner, it may actually be hurtful and insulting to someone else. We don't all share the same sense of humor. This support group is for anyone who is eating a whole foods plant-based diet. I began on December 1, 2015 and am following the 6-week plan set out in Eat to Live written by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Whether you are following him, Dr. McDougall, Dr. Neal Barnard, or anyone else - and are eating a whole foods, plant-based diet...and want to talk about what you are doing, please join me.

My body likes it when I'm juicing, so January 1 will be Day-1 of 30 or so. If you would like to join me (a seasoned juicer) for the first month of the year, please become a member of the group and commit to the month. I'd originally planned on starting on the second, but why wait. The first of the month sounds good to me. My only request is that food is not talked about. Retraining the brain is key and talking about the food we used to eat, want to eat or did eat isn't beneficial to anyone. You can mention the ingredients that go into your juice and what kind of protein powder you may be using, but other than that, all talk of food is out. I'd love to have you join me in this challenge.
