Have read the coffee/caffeine comments and they are instructive but not definitive on the subject of caffeine (a adenosine antagonist by binding to adenosine receptors). Adderall, also a stimulant, operates differently, by, in addition to other related actions of somewhat similar effect, inhibiting re-uptake of norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin.

I am a senior adult with ADHD and have taken a medium/high dose of Adderall for many years. Although it is a daily prescription, I purposely take it inconsistently, meaning that, as per doctor's advice, I purposely and sometimes accidentally skip a couple of days a week to give my brain a break. I am generally "fat, tired, and nearly dead" and am specifically about 90 lbs overweight. Have been on a low carb diet for a couple of weeks, just saw Joe's movie, and am considering going on the reboot.

Besides "checking with my doctor", are there any special considerations for someone taking a medium/high dose of Adderall? Will taking Adderall affect the reboot process? Do not expect that you have solid answers on this, so feel free to speculate and think out loud on the subject. Thanks.

[This must be a common issue, and surprised that it is not addressed already in the FAQs]
