• About: I've struggled with wait for most of my adult life. Up and down and up and down again. I am passionate about life and love and being here for my grandchildren and beyond.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I watched the movie "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and it really shook me up. After seeing several friends in horrible health and attending six funerals over a period of a month and a half, I decided to make a huge change. I am a husband, father and man of faith. Committed to this life change by any means necessary.

This is the start of day 10. Into the double digits! Weird day yesterday. I couldn't get in my normal four juices and water was down because I was all over the place. Weight stayed the same between Sunday and this morning...269.2

I wanted to put this up here to show the progress as part of my updates. I started out at 286.5, but didn't take a photo of the scale that day. The first pic is day two weight, the second is this morning, beginning day 9. So, from the start weight to today, down a little over 16 lbs.

Day 7 is almost in the books. I was a little tired late in the day and felt a little jittery. Overall good, but an interesting feeling.

Detox brings it to us, doesn't it? I am on day 23 and am finding that with each amount of weight lost there's suddenly an emotional sore spot from the time I was last this weight. I have been an emotional eater so it shouldn't surprise anyone that under the fat is an unhappy or stressful occasion that I didn't process. I suggest a dream journal or diary if you are an emotional eater. Plus whatever other outlet that works for you - therapist, massage, acupuncture, kinesiology, affirmations or chanting to name a few I have used with great success. Not having food, alcohol or distractions it's great to have a plan for when you feel blah! Well done getting to day 7!! WOOHOO!! If you need an extra bit of motivation, "May I Be Frank?" is another documentary that follows a man through a 42 day detox. :)

Let's start spring with a swift kick and do a reboot for the month of April. Our group began in March; some started and some left...but many stayed. This group is for anyone who wants to do a full juice fast. That means no solids are eaten OR talked about. If you feel that you need to be eating while juicing, there are other groups that have that as their focus. If you slip while on your reboot, just tell us that you slipped without going into specifics...and continue on. "Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible. Suddenly you're doing the impossible." St. Francis of Assisi
