  • About: I'm in my 40's and live in Dorset, UK with my partner and daughter, and 3 guinea pigs. I've been interested in complimentary medicine since 2002 and my home is full of crystals. I used to weigh almost half my body weight, so definitely carrying around more with me than I would like.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I suffer from fibromyalgia, I'm taking lots of supplements but they're not really helping, I'm also overweight...I need help! Someone recommended Joe's movie to me and I was so amazed and inspired by it, I had to try it! 3 years ago I lost weight on a low carb diet and felt much better for it (before I had fibromyalgia) but then I visited family abroad and starting eating carbs again. I eliminated all grains, sugar, alcohol, tea, coffee, sweeteners, potatoes...I've been meaning to go back on it but just haven't taken the plunge, this will get me there! I learned Macrobiotic cooking in the '90s, which is about eating to be balance...vegan, seasonal, local and organic, and cooking according to the seasons too. I remember how much better I felt and how I could feel the energy of the food just by looking at it and let that guide me on what to eat. So I want to go local, seasonal and organic as much as possible on this diet. I have a Sage Nutri Juicer Pro and planning to start 7 May 2014.

Wow...this new way of eating is amazing! I just had for lunch, roasted cauliflower with sriracha chilli sauce, home made hummus (I will never buy it again!), roasted red pepper and rocket salad. I am so incredibly full, I shouldn't have eaten so much! I was amazed by the cauliflower, it was so tasty and moist. I tried on some old clothes that fit me better than the last time I lost weight, which is a great feeling, and my old rings fit me too! The next weight to load is the biggie...between this weight and the next 30 pounds down I'd been through hell and back. Although I have done a lot of emotional releasing, it does feel like a further release to lose the weight associated with those years. Exercising later...

Managed to go swimming this morning...yay! 50 minutes of gentle excercise. I need to get going on wi-fit again too, I used love doing Step Reebok but the step with the wi is smaller, I have lifts for it to make it higher though. Was dying for a cheese sandwich this morning...time to make some more green juice!

Lunch today and very yummy! Veggie meatballs from Joe Cross' recipe book, mango salad with roasted peppers, olives and red onion, and pea shoots. I'm vegan and grain/sugar free for the next 90 days at least. No coffee, tea or anything processed either.

Phew...I made it through the 60 days! I was tempted to give up a few times, had a few snack attacks on poppadoms, didn't go swimming as often as I would have liked but managed to shed 27 pounds and my fibromyalgia symptoms...and I call that a success!

Although I still kept wanting to eat regular food (cooking dinners for my partner and daughter was really hard!), my tastebuds have now changed and I no longer like the taste of meat...amazing for me as I used to love it! I'm very pleased about that though because I would love to be vegan...I feel happier knowing I'm not contributing to any animal cruelty through eating meat products myself although I will still buy free range for my family.

My fibromyalgia pain loss must have been gradual as I didn't notice it until I cheated 3 weeks into the reboot and had a bite of pizza! The pain was back with a vengeance the next day, and the same thing happened with a simple taste of shepherd's pie and chicken risotto while I was cooking them. I do have a lot more energy too! No more having to think about what tasks I have to do and whether I will have enough energy to complete them all.

It took me a while to get to grips with using my juicer, I have the Sage Pro (Breville outside the UK) but folks here helped me through...thank you everyone for all your help and support! We are so lucky to have this site, with the books too, it so incredibly well set up and amazing that we have this use for free. Like the rest of us, I owe a lot to Joe.

I'm going to follow Joe's lead for the next 90 days and have a plant based diet. 3 years ago I was on a low carb diet and feel much better when I exclude grains from my diet, along with unprocessed foods, potatoes, sugar, tea, coffee and alcohol. I won't be having any soy products either, except soy sauce. I have Dr Joel Fuhrman's book, Eat to Live, and his cookbook too. I'll keep with juicing too, it might make a handy breakfast.

I'm sort of following the Joe's transition plan from his Juice Diet book...I didn't have a smoothie this morning as I don't have a blender but I may try making them in my Magimix food processor. I had half tomato this morning and it tasted wonderful...and really filled me too! I made the banana muffins but the mix was too dry and they give me heartburn. The avocado cream of mushroom soup is excellent! It's amazing to be able to taste vegetables so much better now.

I'd love to lose 60 more pounds...30 pounds takes me back to 2000, and 60 pounds takes me back to my teenage years :) Juice on folks!

How's it going Jennifer. What day are you on now? I am starting the 3 day quick start reboot tomorrow, Wednesday. I have been doing my transition period (not very well) but am determined to do 3 days. After that I will have new plan. I am very pleased with my Bosch juicer. How is your sage one?

Sorry, I've just seen this! 3 weeks now...day 22, and lost a stone. Think I am in less pain with my fibromyalgia too. I getting to grips better with my Sage, I'm getting enough juice out and I'm not feeling hungry so it must be working ok...I am tempted by real food though! How are you doing now?

I have got a Bosch juicer. From john Lewis. I am amazed at the amount of juice it produces. 2 apples makes full glass about 200ml. Beet root in with apples curly kale lemon tastes good.

That's brilliant! It took me a while to decide...I thought about the John Lewis Bosch, then I saw a new model was coming out on Amazon but I really wanted to buy it from John Lewis...I emailed them to see if they were going to stock the new model but they had no plans to. In the end I went all out and got the Sage nutri juicer pro...I thought this would help me stay committed too!

Hi Jennifer, how's this? Most weekends we come home from work to our house in - wait for it- Winkton. Small world. It is so gorgeous today. I am pleased that I got through yesterday with juices I, like you, plan to start reboot this week but am accustoming myself to juices first. I haven't bought book yet but have tried juices from Jason Vale. I am surprised and delighted at how nice they have all tasted so far.

Oh how funny is that! I moved from Norwich to Christchurch 6 years ago, and my daughter used to go to school in Bransgore. I have a friend in Stony Stratford and my sister lives in Chinnor. There's a farm shop in Sopley that I haven't tried yet, I don't know if they're organic but there are 4 companies that deliver, local, seasonal and organic fruit & veg...MyVegBox deliver on a Saturday. I picked up my juicer yesterday and I'm going to play around with juicing today!
