  • About: I have struggled with my weight all my life, and I am determined to fix that this year. I have never been obese, but I have always (since 7 years old) been varying degrees of over weight. I am very interested in the connection between mental health and nutrition, and am actually studying it in school. I have always known a lot about it, but I have had a hard time sticking with anything myself. I feel like if I am going to be giving people advice on this very topic in the future, I need to get it sorted out once and for all and stick with it. My plan is to start with juicing to get off the excess weight, and then I am going for fitness all the way!
  • Favorite Juice? I am a sucker for the fruity ones..
  • Food temptation? coffee and chocolate!

Okay, so I didn't quite make it to 30 days.. but I did make it to my original goal of 21 days! I decided to stop for a number of reasons I won't get into, but I will say I do not feel defeated and I'm glad about my decision. I'm eating mostly fruits and vegetables, a little bit of whole grains and a bit of nuts. I am going to continue on like this for the foreseeable future.

This summer I'm going to be living in a very small, very remote, town. In which I will be trying my best to eat well - but its very difficult. Fresh food is VERY expensive. My plan is to maintain my weight during this time, which is a goal in itself, I've never not gained weight while there. So, my intention is to maintain, and then when I get home in September, do another juice fast to hopefully get down to my goal weight. I'm really only 10 pounds away from my goal weight. So hopefully by this time next year I'll just be focusing on improving my fitness level! But if I've learned anything from diet-media, the last 10 pounds are the hardest. I think I've read upwards of 100 articles or magazines titled "How to lose those last 10 pounds", "drop those last pesky 5!"... etc. So we'll see! I'm hoping juicing will help with that a lot.

I'm on day 6! Feeling great. It's been mostly easy so far. I'm finding it interesting that the main reason I am missing food is due to missing the time in the kitchen and the creativity. I love to cook and it's my main creative outlet. I'm going to need to pick up the guitar again or a paintbrush to make it through the month!

The beet taste between orange and red, well the juice from both is astounding. The orange beet produces a Yellow juice and it tastes the same as the red, however, the red smells so much more. Both are not bad. Good luck Ms. Jen.

We'll be on the same schedule then! My experience in the past with juicing has been that day 3 is the hardest... so all downhill from here, right!?
    Have a great day!

Will mixing smoothies into the juice fast greatly hinder the effects?

This group is intended to help people find a reboot partner. The buddy system has been a driver of success for a plethora of people striving to meet their own personal goals- whatever they may be. Here we hope to help people find a buddy or small group of partners to work together as they reboot. With the intimate support of another individual(s), you can reach your goal with the consistent long-term support from like minded individuals- no matter who or where they may be. Consider your new friend a reboot pen pal of sorts, someone you can connect with, communicate with, and find support from when you feel alone or like you want to give in to old habits. And the best part... your personal journey and support may direct change the life of another by helping them reach their goals.
