Day 18. Juicing is not an issue. Seems pretty easy so far though I'm not sure why. I think it must be God's grace since so many others have such difficulty and since I had such a problem getting to this point.

Reading Nouwen again. It made me realize how very afriad I've been about abandonment issues. I'm replacing prospect of lonliness with "a chance for solitude" as I think about the prospect of future widowhood. That is so freeing for me and I praise God for this truth.

I never understod before the biblical concept of fasting. How could not eating food effect you spritually? I still don't understand how but it certainly does. Possibly everyone worships food to some degree.

I'm thankful for the many bloggers on this site. So many who share their journey with utter transparency making it easier for us to do the same. Also thankful for the encouragement I've received. The difficulties that many face in their health and circumstances make my own burdens lighter.

Today is day 17 and I've decided to keep a log about the journey...it's a little late but better late then never. The first 4 days sure were hard with symptoms including severe nausea ( lost my cookies), sinus headache, runny nose etc. By day 4 I was starting to feel human! Day 5 I went on to full juicing and I've managed by the grace of God to stay on it.

Noticed a lot of changes including that I am now "pain free!" but I'm really monitoring my actiivity level. My sense of smell has increased to the point where I think I could compete with one of those drug sniffing dogs the police use!

It has been a journey and part "weigh" through I decided not to check the scales anymore. Psychologically, it's a real downer when expectations are not met. So hubby has the scales safely put away in and undisclosed location. Down with digits!I also want to really focus on my true goals which are to regain my health and energy.

Somewhere along the journey, as I noticed my husband cowereing in the corner, I realized that I was pretty angry. Since food is no longer available as a darn fine "numbing agent", this became an issue for me to deal with. It's lead me right back to my favorite author, Henri Nouwen. In his words, I've decided to deal with the angst and conflict that life brings from a very special place with the words "You are my Beloved" first and forward in my mind.

Thanks for the warm welcome, neighbour! I couldn't see a way to reply to your comment, so I'm just posting here. Glad to hear you're doing so well on your reboot. I'm feeling pretty good so far on day 1, lol!

Glad to hear from you. When people facebook or use twitter you don't see a "comment". If you look at the very top you can post to the group or use the group wall. Good luck with the juicing!

This is for people who have finished a reboot or who want to change their eating habits with modified juicing. The Group Picture is of a glass mug of healthy hot garlic soup with sprigs of parsley. I've just finished a 10 day juice reboot and am now eating lots of salads and hot soup. My challenge is night-time grazing. I'm cultivating a better eating habit by: 1. Drinking at least one healthy veggie/fruit juice a day 2. Eating a salad a day 3. Eating more veggies than meat or grain 4. Eating no later than 8:30 p.m. 6 days a week (I work late hours) 4. intermittent fasting one day a week (only veggie juice) 5. Every 6 - 8 weeks I want to do a 3 day juice cleanse This list isn't meant to dictate the same for everyone. How are you "moving your dial" by cultivating your own better eating habits?
