  • About: Hello! I have juiced since 2010. I've done a 30 day, 15 day and a few 7 day Juice Only feasts. After a move across country, I fell off the wagon, injured my back in 2013, and suffered until a few months ago. I was on pain meds and began eating crap foods out of boredom, lack of motivation or desire to be fit, and let's be honest; PAIN SUCKS YOUR WILL TO BE HEALTHY. (I guess). I began juicing again in June 2015. By juicing, yoga, PMA (positive mental attitude), I am feeling much better AND I've dropped a bit of weight 3 years of couch potato'ish behavior caused. I'll full-time juice until I feel I'm healed, and I will never stop a daily juice EVER again. I have 2 amazing kids, 2 step daughters, who each have children. We have a full house and I am a very lucky girl. My husband and I are both on "the juice" together, although he eats some unprocessed foods while away from home. I tend to juice each night for the next day, because my work day begins at 5:00 am each morning. YAWN. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and learning about your juicing journey.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I joined the Reboot with Joe because I want to meet like-minded people on the same journey I am on. Support each other along the way. Understand the quirks of juicing in the real world i.e. around coworkers who don't understand, around meat eating people who believe animals are the only way to get protein. For motivation. For accountability. To help me through those times I feel I MUST EAT. :) and to have a good time.
  • Favorite Juice? ginger, green apple SHOTS in the AM.
  • Food temptation? anything after 5:00 PM

Hi IrishHippie & thanks for 'friending' me here. I'm fairly new & don't get on here as often as I'd like but I check in when I can. I can relate to your pain/injury story as well. I had a sciatic injury a couple years back that grounded me for several weeks; not fun. I've never done a full-blown reboot but I have one planned in September (taking time off work & the whole bit). Now I juice daily & yeah my coworkers all give me the "sympathetic" smile when they see me with my juice (like PLEASE don't offer me any of THAT haha). I'm currently reading Dr Furhman's book Eat to Live and wow it's eye-opening & challenging. I'm pretty sold on moving to a whole foods plant based diet. Still not there 100% but moving in that direction. Went to my first ever farmers' market here; it runs year-round here & wow it was fun. I plan on becoming a regular. You are blessed to have your hubs juicing w/you--that's so great. I'm single again so don't have to worry about that...except perhaps when the time comes to 'meet someone new' and they find out I'm one of those crazy juicing ladies. Hopefully there's a crazy juicing guy out there for me ;) Great to meet you & best of luck as you juice on!
