  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I've joined Reboot with Joe for the supportive commuity and the really terrific recipes that are always showing up. Although I've been juicing for several years, and have juice-fasted a couple of times before, I'm still overweight by about 30 lbs though, so this spring I'm jumping into a longer cleanse. Juice fasts are like a personal retreat. Strangely enough, I enjoy them!
  • Favorite Juice? Pink-a-licious!
  • Food temptation? Bread -- really good artisan bread...with olive oil.

To continue the journey, I recommitted to the reboot on 5/5/14 I started the day at 176.5. Day 2 started at 175.5. Day 3 started at 173.5. Day four started at 175. Ugh. Day 3 consisted of 64 oz. of juice, about the same or more in combined tea, water and coconut water. I aslo rode my bike to/from work. 20 miles that TrackMyFitness says burns between 700-800 calories. So where did those 2 lbs come from? This is feeling like dejavu from the first two weeks. Maybe juicing for weight loss doesn't work for everybody. Two suggestions from friends. The pH thing and the salt thing. I have enough juice to get me through tomorrow, so I'll perservere, but if I wake up tomorrow w/o any loss, I'll break the reboot Friday eve with salad, and migrate to the pH miracle or the "Eat to Live" path and see if solids makes any difference. Unbelievable. How can I remain so steadfastly robust?

Well, the tracker isn't responding, so I'll log here. Ate a lot over the weekend. Put on a couple of pounds (back to 179). Am now only 3 lbs down total 21 days later. The first 16 of those days were completely cheat free juice days, but with minimal exercise. Still a pretty poor showing for a strict juice fast. Anyway, I still have a long road ahead to lose the remaining 27 lbs. Am cleared to ride my bike again, so back on the saddle for the daily commute. It's an 18 mile round trip each day. That should help stimulate some weight loss, as long as I behave!

Ah...so that's where they go when I click "share with community"!

Today is day 15 of a reboot. I haven't set a time limit. I was going more for a certain weight (150 end, beginning at 182). The weight loss for the first 15 days has been fairly abysmal, only 7 lbs., so I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm traveling on business this week, and have arranged to have fresh juice delivered to my hotel, so I'm in the game at least through Friday. If I'm seeing significant weight loss at that time, I may continue on toward my goal. If the weight loss stays so anemic, I'll shift to a modified phase, somewhat like the first week in the structured 15-day, and kick up the exercise.

Organic pineapples are really, really expensive! I know canned pineapple is essentially dead. How about the frozen organic chunks? Do they still have comparable enzymes and nutrients vs. fresh?
