  • About: Hello there! I am Melissa, a 32 year old mom from Tennessee. I am married to my smoke diving fire fighting husband, Jonathan. We have a quirky little boy, Lucian, who is soon to be 3. We've been married for 3 years. My husband is on this is journey with me and I am so blessed.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: My goal is to lose 100lbs in 365days. This is the heaviest I have ever been and it is causing so many health problems. I get winded trying to play with my son. I don't want to be the 'fat mommy' picking her son up at school or always sitting on the bench instead of jumping up and down cheering at soccer games. He deserves a mother who can be involved. M weight and health are also affecting my fertility. We have been trying to conceive for about two years unsuccessfully. I am hoping that getting back in shape and to a healthy weight that we will be blessed with another little person. :)

Hey, just checking in to see how things are going. I haven't yet had a full day of juicing. No matter what I end up eating something. I am stilling losing weight but I really want to go a full day without eating. How did you get past this? Was it a problem for you?

Things are great on my day 5. I've just been really busy today. I stayed up too late last night and overslept this morning, but I made it to the gym for an hour of cardio. This morning my scale greeted me with a weightloss of 10.8 pounds. I'm feeling over the moon. While I was at the gym I saw a girl from my congregation walking on the walking track and then she went to the juice bar all during her lunch break. She told me that I am inspiring others and that feels incredible!!! I'm a little behind on my juice drinking because I woke up so late, but I'm still going strong. Hope you're having a great day as well. I have decided to extend my fast to thirty days :)

It's day four and I've lost 9lbs! How does that happen?! I'm feeling great and even went to the gym for the first time in a long time. I did a solid hour of cardio which has me pretty energetic now. I am planning on going ahead and juicing a lot today so the produce I have doesn't go bad. There's a lot since my husband decided that the juice wasn't for him. Now I have enough to go twice as long. Blessing in disguise I guess. :)

FireWife, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Day three sucked for me too, but I just ended day 4 and I feel much better. Hang in there.

Things went downhill for me very quickly on this day three. I couldn't seem to get as much juice down as days one and two. I had four juices instead of five. I had had cravings all day and can't seem to shake them. My jaw is aching so badly that I took Tylenol. The meds will hopefully also help my nagging headache. Every time I think that this journey isn't important I take a look in the mirror. I have wrecked my body. With food. I indulged myself and treated myself until my body is unrecognizable. I laid on my side and took a photo and I think this may be the breakthrough that some people talk about. I am 32 next month and if I keep at it I won't see my son get married, I won't enjoy grandchildren, I am sentencing myself to death because of the pleasure I get from food. Even though that pleaser is gone as soon as I take the last bite. I just have to hang in there. I suppose I am also discouraged because I have so much to lose.

Good morning juicers! It's day three of my Reboot and I'm feeling alright. I weighed myself and I'm now up to a 7.4 lb weight loss since beginning this journey. I know it's far from 100, but it's a wonderful start. I have decided not to put an end date on my reboot. I'll know when it's time to transition back and I think that's going to be closer to my goal. As far as how I feel bodily , I have a bit of a headache, which I'm hoping my morning juice will clear up. I'm also pretty tired and have a lot of lower back pain. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia so I think that may just be the cold weather. I am really hoping that getting all of the toxins out that are causing inflammation remedies the terrible joint pain. My son, Lucian, is sick this morning, he woke up in a vomiting fit. He's going to be three in February and I know it scares him to throw up. I feel terrible because I am afraid he may be detoxing off junk as well since I haven't been letting him have junk food since I started my juice fast. I've traded his old favorites for healthier versions. It could also just be the flu, his step brother is in public school where all the germs live. Well, my day is looking pretty full at this point, I'm so proud of myself for sticking in there! Stay Juicy!

Well. It's dinner time and my husband has quit the juice fat. He said he just feels too bad. I feel yucky too but I know it's part of the process. Maybe he's just not ready. I'm are whatever he comes home with is going to be delicious and I'm just over here with my mean green. Thank goodness for this forum or I'd be going it alone. So thankful.
