• About: I began struggling with weight issues in the 3rd grade. I did well in the 4th and 5th grade when my mom and everyone started aerobics then in the 5th grade I had to wear a back brace. I was 5'4" wearing adult clothes and shoes and while being a healthy weight, 120 pounds, I didn't feel thin. I didn't fit into cute preteen clothes and shoes. In the 6th grade I had back surgery. No aerobics, no sports and I gained weight. At 17 years and 5'6" I weighted almost 200 pounds and the story begins with yo-yo diets. By the time I was 34, I weighed in at 306 pounds and my height dropped to 5'4". Then in 2007 after some success with weight loss I almost died from the medications that were helping me lose the weight. And here I am, 45 years old, 5'4" and 259 pounds. I choose the screen name Dori150 because my goal weight is 150. I weighed 150 when I was 14 and I looked and felt my best at that time in my life.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: My best friend watches food documentaries and is very health food conscience. Because of her I was exploring documentaries about food production and stumbled upon Fat, Sick and almost Dead on Netflix. I watched it twice. I was inspired and moved to tears. Then I googled the movie and found RebootwithJoe. I think this is the answer to my weight loss challenges. I believe this is a lifestyle I can adopt. I have a 10 year old son, so I was really excited to see the section about how to include children in this lifestyle change.

This group is inspired by all the amazing people I have met in this community who, like me, have or had 100 lbs or more to lose when starting this journey with our wonderful Joe Cross:) There are special challenges in this world for those of us who are "morbidly obese" and there are some incredibly inspirational people around here conquering those challenges every day. Come be inspired and inspiring!
