  • About: I am a 52 year old guy that works hard and has done well in business but I have not taken care on myself. I have a battle with food and better health thinking, it is one of those things that felt like I could not get control of. Thanks to the whole Reboot effort I finally feel like I can do this. I have tried everything else and it never stuck or felt right - more like a trick. This and the whole reboot movement is about changing my relationship with food. I now feel like I have the chance to change. Reboot has been a chance to "break the habit" of eating and living the way I have for years. My lovely bride of 28 years is also on the reboot journey and is doing great (plus it is a big help to me). I have two lovely daughters - and now one of them is having one green juice a day too! I also have friends and family now doing the juice and eating healthy too. I travel a great deal for business and have found it fun to take juicing on the road with me - meeting fun and interesting people all over the US.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: My Goals and why I started the Reboot path: A. Getting off all my medications B. Becoming more active and mobile C. Reduce the stress on my body D. Eat healthy, live healthy E. Stop having to use those darn seat belt extenders on flights F. Freak out my Doc I first watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead after my sister in-law had seen it and said "David I think you will get a lot out of this and I know you want to get healthy..." So I watched it and within 5 months I was at Camp Reboot in New York. That was a life changing event. Since the start of Aug in 2013 I went on a 60 day juice only reboot - dropped from 320 lbs to 265 lbs, also my cholesterol has dropped to normal (in 35 years it has never been there) and my blood sugar levels went from 165 and 190 to 90. I have been on a plant based diet since the end of my 60 day reboot and feeling great. I'm now walking and have more energy - wanting to get up and do more. I am still on my journey

Virginia is for lovers....and juicers! Sometimes it's hard to find a good support group, especially when making particularly big or difficult life changes! Online groups are absolutely wonderful for support! Especially because you meet so many people, all going through the same thing, that you wouldn't have met otherwise. The more people you meet, the more you find out how supportive people are and how willing to help and support people they don't know! It's a great feeling! Likewise, it's also nice to be able to find people in your area that you can get together with in person as well! So this is for anyone juicing in Virginia! Maybe you can list any good farmer's markets you have locally, or running/exercise groups, or support groups! I hope this helps anyone who is trying to change for the better! I also hopes this brings out new or existing local support groups to join!
