  • About: I am 45, single, never married, no children - 2 furbabies (cats) and I am on a journey to regain my health, lose weight and have the life I know I can!
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I saw the documentary just after entering remission from 5 years of battling cancer. I was searching for a way to get healthy and this was it. Juicing helped me discover I have a sensitivity to both gluten and lactose - it completely changed my life. I feel in control now of my health and my life so I want to help others if possible
  • Favorite Juice? Mean green - I drink it daily
  • Food temptation? everything - everywhere!

decided to get a new look for the new year a few weeks ago and today I finally got around to mailing off my donation for wigs for women fighting cancer. Being a cancer survivor 3x's it is something near and dear to me I was lucky to never lose all my hair but it did get very thin and has taken 3 years to get it back to how it was pre-chemo.

My Sunday routine keeps me sane ... wake up feed cats ... warm lemon ginger water, walk, hot herbal tea, breakfast smoothie .... I dance to my fave tunes while I clean the house, bubble bath, green juice for lunch, home spa time mani/pedi/facial/hair conditioning .... I need to incorporate the reading for fun (not work or school).... then watching my fave TV show Downton Abbey/The Good Wife. Love my Sunday at home recharging my batteries to tackle the upcoming week.

Settled into my maintenance routine still - searching for a job has really been a stressful depressing time but proud of myself for maintaining my weight loss thus far even if I have not lost anymore. If all goes as planned I start a 6 month contract job Feb 9th. Juice onward!

Whoot! I have lost the 5 lbs I packed on over holidays! Even with the stress of finding a new job I have been able to stay focused. I am not on a juice only reboot right now - just sensible/clean/healthy eating. Started my morning with cup of warm ginger lemon water, followed by a banana, blueberry, spinach smoothie with coconut & aloe vera waters, currently drinking my herbal tea to warm me up after my morning walk (celestial season gingerbread spice with stevia and unsweetened almond milk-my healthier "rip off' of the Starbucks gingerbread latte), juices ready for the day (24 oz each carrot & orange, mean green) Zero pitcher of filtered water - (I try to consume 2 (16) oz glasses a day), I add 2 oz each coconut water and aloe water to my juices and smoothies - staying hydrated. Planning a veggie stir fry and baked fish for dinner.

My fridge :) Eat the rainbow!! (grapefruits, lemons, carrots, oranges, apples, spinach, bananas, blueberries, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, squash, broccoli, pineapple - all liquid sunshine!!)This is about a 4 day supply so I shop every 3 days to insure I never run out. My new way of life for me and it is AWESOME!

I unfortunately put on about 5 lbs over the holidays but not the end of the world - I did the "crime" now time to do the "time" :) I am still 54 lbs lighter than when I started Dec. 2013 and still off all meds I was on previously!!! I lost my job Jan 2nd and it was kind of expected business was very slow last 3 months so I have been focused on finding a new job (my 4th job loss since 2011 - mortgage industry very unstable still). Classes start Jan 20 - 5 more to go to a new degree and hopefully a more stable future in digital forensics/computers. Also unfortunately had to halt the sessions with the trainer :( but I am still walking everyday, going to yoga and Tai Chi and using my elliptical a few minutes each day - building up my stamina little by little on it ( turned one side of my garage into a mini gym/work out area) and having 1-2 juices everyday and eating my healthy meal once a day. I plan to start a 15 day juice only mid January hopefully I will have a new job by then but not working from home anymore is going to be a huge transition. I have already mapped out a plan to stay on track. Preparation/planning ahead is going to insure my success! #juiceon everyone 2015 is our year to shine bright:)

A new year is always a time for reflection on where I have been and reevaluation of my goals and how to go about achieving them. At the close of 2014 I am just simply incredibly thankful. Don't care if it sounds "hokey" it is true. I am in a good place - a much better place than I think I have ever been in my entire life. 2014 has been a year of tremendous growth and discovery for me and I look forward to 2015 - I have faced many, many difficult challenges in my life and life certainly has not dealt my the easiest or most fair hand but I have finally let go of so much of the bitterness and anger which was rooted mostly in fear that was holding me back. The sky is the limit - so what if I try and fail miserably? At least I tried and there is no shame in that!! Juicing has been an incredible too in my journey this year - unlocking better health, confidence and helping me tap into what was holding me back deep down inside - which is why so many are so PASSIONATE about it - it is not just weight loss it is can be a total game changer! so happy 2015 everyone and #JUICE ON!!!

After having tried every diet on the planet (latest the HCG after 6 wks total 20 lbs lost -excrutiatingly hard &expensive) I came across FS&ND documentary a few Sat.'s ago, watched it (& a few other "food/health" docs). I checked out this website. I was inspired to bring the juicer out of the closet (aquired through expiring frequent flier miles but never used), purchased $22 in veggies & fruits (kale, cucumbers, lemons, celery, carrots, pineapple, grapefruits & apples) whipped up Joe's green juice - which was actually good to my pallette and off I went. 7 days later I have spent a whopping $45 total (with fruits and veggies still unused) - I feel great, lost 5 lbs - never suffered many symptoms mentioned in other posts. I had a headache day 2 which went away easily. I drink 3 -16 oz green drinks a day & 2 -16oz carrot, pineapple and grapefruit as breakfast & dessert. Taking it to work was easy in a sealed bottle in the old lunch bag with cold pack. Still taking my fish oil , vitamin and B12 (all doctor "prescribed"). I am excited to try new recipes experiment to make my own. I will be a juicer for life - atleast 2 meals per day will be juicing - it is soo much easier than cooking and cheaper than eating out - I am single with no children so it is perfect for me!

  • My daily progress - Goal to lose 100 lbs by 45th birthday (4/2014)

Starting today - I have a feeling this will be a total life changer for me.
Very excited!! Very inspired by documentary and the all the posts on the site - some good tips.
Goal to lose 100 lbs by 45th birthday (4/2014) - want to have more energy and be healthy.
Tomorrow start working with personal trainer. Sit at a desk all day - need someone to teach me how not to hurt myself exercising lol
Made a pitcher of green juice last night - 1st glass last night - not bad at all - 2nd glass this morning - trying to drink a glass of water after each glass of juice to avoid headaches if possible - hoping my detox wont be too bad - already made many changes over past year (no sodas, cut down sugar /sodium, no junk/fast food) but only lost 20lbs - so time for a change
Skipping my usual morning detour through SB to get coffee was hard - replaced it with a green tea with liquid vanilla cream stevia (tastes like a cream soda without carbanation)
Hoping to inspire someone and keep others motivated - WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!

This group is inspired by all the amazing people I have met in this community who, like me, have or had 100 lbs or more to lose when starting this journey with our wonderful Joe Cross:) There are special challenges in this world for those of us who are "morbidly obese" and there are some incredibly inspirational people around here conquering those challenges every day. Come be inspired and inspiring!
