Sorry for the long absence. I have been back on real food now since the beginning of the month. I have not gained any weight and my entire appetite has completely changed. The things that tempted me before have mostly gone away. there are a few things I simply steer clear of (hot doughnuts, fresh bread, etc) I have purchased one candy bar since the fast and it was just "meh" nothing special. I LOVE KALE SALAD! I would have been hard pressed to even identify Kale at the grocery store prior to this project. I enjoy all sorts of raw vegetables

Well I am gearing up for another 30 day fast starting May 1. I hope to continue my journey to 185 lbs and reap more of the benefits of "drinking sunshine".

Fact: I don't eat when very busy.

Fact: After 12 hours I binge like a Dyson.

Lesson: Don't go 12 hours without eating.

Not that I plan on this, but I honestly think eating a doughnut would be better than the binge fest that occurs when my body suddenly realizes it is HUNGRY.

I keep juiceo n hand now. Juice and Coconut Water.

I am a little more optimistic. I just weighed in at 238. Hopefully I am leaving the plateau and continuing the journey towards my goal.

Hey Chris, sorry to hear about your friend. I'm hoping to do 60 days too. Day 2 and my cravings come and go. How are you? 52 lbs weight loss is incredible.

I hope that this chapter of my life is closed. We gave final respects to my friend who passed away last week. I am cautiously optimistic that I have passed the plateau and regained my path to my goal weight. Every diet I have ever tried has given me a plateau at 245 lbs. This lifestyle change starting with the 60 day reboot is no different. Of course, If you read my account from last week you know why the plateau lasted more than just two or three days. Today's weigh in is 241. Not bad. While I have been only recording my weight loss since the reboot there are five months from my hospitalization where I was fighting without a real planDuring that time I went from 293 - 274. MY year to date weight loss has come to 52 pounds. I am marching on to the goal of 180 - 185 lbs.

Why so quiet Chris? Well I'm glad you asked.

Life happened this week. Ironically it happened in the form of death. I was already having some difficulty with staying the course on my 60 day juice fast because of spring break and the lack of structured life. I received a call that a close friend and coworker of mine passed away. He was a teacher also. My Juice fast derailed. completely. I am still 42 pounds down, but my heart has just not been in the game. During one of the sleepless nights this week I discovered Joe Cross was going to be in town. I made it a priority to go and see him. I am glad I did. His lecture was fantastic. Some day I hope I can meet him in an environment more conducive to conversation. Thank you Joe. Your visit helped.

Spring break is coming up next week. I have already discovered that the weekends are the most difficult times to stay on program, so i am a little concerned about he entire week of holidays. Hopefully I'' figure out how to get into a routine as quickly as possible. We will be planting the vegetable garden and purging junk from the house. Guess we'll see how it goes. It's 31 days in. 29 more to go.

Someone commented on the group of friends I have at work. They said it was amazing how much positive energy there seemed to be in one place when positive energy is not necessarily found in abundance here.

Here is how I pick my friends. I surround myself with people I want to be like or people who are better than I am at what I love to do. On one level this is a fairly selfish approach to friendship. However it ensures I have more to give back to others and always keeps me striving to be a better person.

It wouldn't be fair if I only reported the great things and feelings. Today I feel horrible. I am tired, sluggish and irritable. ugh!!! It's day 27 and the day after a marathon day where I was up from 4:00am till 11:00pm. I know that may be normal for some, but not for me. My issues have nothing to do with juicing and everything to do with being exhausted. TGIF!!!!

This group is inspired by all the amazing people I have met in this community who, like me, have or had 100 lbs or more to lose when starting this journey with our wonderful Joe Cross:) There are special challenges in this world for those of us who are "morbidly obese" and there are some incredibly inspirational people around here conquering those challenges every day. Come be inspired and inspiring!
