    Hey all!

Day 18/30 and I have been fighting cotton mouth since day 13. My tongue turned white around that time and nothing I do relieves it except for drinking Coconut water. The relief however is very short. Are others experiencing this and if so how are you dealing with it? I would hope that this would end before the fast ends but maybe I am just wishfully thinking. :-)

    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Hey all,

So I am on day 21/30 (possible extension to 45 or 60) and despite the stomach growls here and there I feel excellent. I almost feel as though colors are brighter, decisions are faster, sleep is deeper and my fingernails are clearer. Most of my friends think I am just talking out my a** but it's true. I was driving to work the other morning and it was if everything had more Snap to it.

I even feel as though I heal faster. My pups tend to leave marks on me (I tend to mediate tussles between them) and scratches and bites disappear much faster. I even have a 5 O'clock shadow much faster then normal. Almost feels as though I was abducted and replaced with a better version of my body.

The end of week three was when my nose stopped feeding my body those craving signals whenever I would smell food. I'm to the point where I am numb to it when it's in front of me. I still get a grumble but I no longer sit there biting my knuckles.

However, if I do have a craving it's Sushi...

Anyways, for those who have not passed the difficult weeks it gets MUCH better.

    Cheers,
    Brandon

  • Losing too fast... Input?

Ok, so I have heard this from many people and I need some input. I am being told that losing weight at the rate that normally happens during a juice fast is unhealthy. Ideas? Input?

  • In a predicament.. Ending a fast..

    Soooo, hello I guess?

In somewhat of a predicament. I am very close to ending a 60 day fast and work has decided to send me away on business for a week right as it ends. My plan was to be home to break the fast but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

How sick can I anticipate being if I try to jump into food? By food I do not mean burgers, pizza, etc as I do not crave that but seafood, etc. I'm not sure how to handle this and I cannot be ill but my choices and schedule will be VERY limited. I may have almost NO free time to search out much less get to a place that can cater to my dietary requirements..

    Ideas?

Hey all.. So I am on day 63 and my total loss thus far has been 42 lb's.. Not as much as others but with this loss I am now out of the obese category as far as BMI goes. So, I am pushing my fast out to 90 or 100 days. I do not weigh and the only reason I know what I have lost is that I weighed for the first time today. The comparison weight is from my Dr's office prior to the fast. So my question is for those that have tracked their weight and have done 90+ days..

I'm trying to figure out how much weight was lost between day 60 and day 90/100. If there is someone who has done this I'd like to hear from you.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Hey all,

I'm on day 87/100 and yesterday was a BAD day. Normally I make my AM/PM juice but rely on four local establishments to make my lunch juice. What I have found though is that there is no reliability in how they approach juice and normally I can stomach it..but yesterday was the worst. So bad in fact that I almost broke my fast because of how ravenously hungry I was. This wasn't a hungry like I used to experience where my mind was wanting something.. This time I felt like my body was going to throw in the towel if I did not fuel it. The juice that led me down this route was littered with pulp and by littered I mean it looked like mulch in a barrel of water. All this from a juicer that is most probably well over 1k + higher than what I paid for my Breville. Anyways, it looks like few of these healthy establishments know how to actually juice and in an attempt to cash in on this market will assign anyone to the wood chipper.

Anyways.. I'm guessing these industrial juicers do not strain the damn juice? Or is this a user error?

Hell, my first juice was fool proof. Could train my terriers to do it.

Just felt like ranting since it takes a lot to make me want food and yesterday was almost a wash for me...

  • Taste buds after a fast...

    Hey all...

So I am on day 2 after my 90 day and have been breaking in very slowly.. Apple and a small smoothie on day 1 and Apple, Banana and Figs on day 2 in very small portions.. It doesn't take much. Last night I was with friends and they wanted me to taste two items on the table to give feedback. I thought, why not. One was a gourmet beer which I used to frequent and two was garlic hummus. Portions were extremely small.. Maybe a thimble worth of beer and a fingertip of hummus.. Well, I have to say, the beer was the most horrific tasting thing I have had in the past three months.. On top of that, when smelling it all I could smell was yeast! The hummus was a tad better but very very salty..

For those that have transitioned back to food after a fast.. Were you able to enjoy any of your old food or is my beer palate completely screwed? I was a very light/social drinker so it wasn't often that I had this but I did partake and enjoyed doing so....

  • Tongue was white.. Now it's spotted.

So I am on day 25/30 most probably extending to 60 days... For the past 2 weeks my tongue has been white but gradually showing some pink here and there. Well, today I brushed it and it is a variety of Dark pink and light pink but it's spotted so about 60% of my tongue is light pink and the rest is dark pink dots. Is this normal? I know turning white is and I know turning pink is but spots?

    Hey all..

So, I started to track my juicing through a fitness band that I wear. It tracks miles run or cycled, steps taken throughout the day, 24 hour calorie burn, nutritional data as well as sleep. As of today I started to input my meal data and right after lunch it warned me that my intake was mostly carbs... So, I go to check my nutritional data and sure enough, as of lunch I am at 1109 cals and 265g of carbs.. My morning is higher in fruit content but my lunch and dinner is mostly green. Here's what I had today thus far..

Bfast - 1 apple, 1 kiwi, 1cup Blueberries, 7 Strawberries, 5 Carrots, 3 stalks of Bok Choy, 1/3 Cucumber, 3 stalks of Celery and 1 piece of Ginger.

Lunch - 1 cup of Snap peas, 1 bunch of Spinach Epinards, 4 Stalks of Celery, 1/2 Cucumber, 4 stalks of Bok Choy, 4 Brussel Sprouts, 2 Red Kale, 1/2 Apple, 1 Stalk of Fennel Anise, 1 cup of chopped Jicama and 1/3 Lemon.

Normally for Dinner I would have something similar but without Jicama and maybe a light mix up on the greens. For instance Broccoli, arugula, etc.

So, is this a big deal? I'm on day 27/30 but extending to 60 and I have had very good results. Just making sure that this is ok.

So far other Nutritional data for the day (through Lunch) show..

    Calories: 1109
    Carbs: 265
    Fat: 4.7
    Protein: 32.1
    Cholesterol: 0
    Sodium: 1160
    Calcium: 10.5
    Potassium: 6673.8
    Vitamin C: 236.4
    Iron: 3.4
    Vitamin A: 2851.8
    Vitamin E: 0.9
    Folate: 229.1
    Fiber: 58.2
    Sugars: 153.3
    Saturated Fat: 0.5
    Thiamin: 0.4
    Niacin: 5.7
    Magnesium: 132.2
    Zinc: 1.8
    Copper: 0.5

So there you have it. Any advice would be welcomed. :-)

  • Sick at night - Week after 90 day fast.

    Hey all,

So, the first week of breaking my fast was great.. No pain, easy introduction into some foods. Mostly fruits, veggies, quinoa, almond milk, lentils and a little shitake... Well, all was fine that is until Friday night..

Friday night I went to dinner and ordered very light.. Watermelon arugula goat cheese salad and a chicken broth egg drop soup. One hour after eating and returning home I had stabbing pains in my stomach. I was able to sleep and the pains resumed into the morning and only vanished after an hour into mountain biking.. So no pain until..

Sunday morning at 2 am... What did I eat Sat night? Lentils, quinoa, sauteed spinach and a small salad (all made at home). So 2 am comes and I have this pain mid torso right under my ribs to my waist line floating over into my mid back section.. After an hour or so I have a BM and the pain slowly subsides until..

Monday morning at 2 am... What did I eat Sun night? A little quinoa, banana, almond milk and some lentils.. This time the pain was much worse but in same area.. I became clammy.. Had a BM and it did not help.. About thirty minutes into it I ended up hurling after which the pain slowly started to subside. This pain was very intense..

Only thing I can think of is that I normally eat between 5/6 and these past three times were closer to 8 except Friday which was closer to 9... I had quinoa all week without any issues.. Not sure what's going on here.. I may start juicing at night to see what the hell is happening. I used to have an iron stomach but since my fast I'm very quirky...

    Ideas?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

  • Hair after 90 day fast..

    Hey there,

It's been about 6 weeks since I finished my 90 day juice fast and I have noticed my hair is thinning out and shedding quite a bit.. I normally have VERY thick hair but now it looks insanely thin. I read a few sites online that state that hair loss is to be expected after a juice fast and that it will thicken and grow back eventually. I have never heard this however I know my hair well and I also know that NO males in my family have ever had baldness so I'm asking this out of concern since I seem to be shedding more than my dogs at this point.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,
    Brandon
