  • About: I am over age, over weight, retired from medical field but caretaker for husband with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, which I thought bad until I learned that D word...dementia, yikes! He is 65! My mother is 86, over clever bright mind with new ideas that I need to tend each day that involves errands~ and, four older schnauzers that also need feeding, doc appts,. grooming and loving. Not bad, but in the process, I have given my own care to the wind and managed to gain 60 pounds (from not small to start) in the past year, have stopped all of the activity of last spring, biking, yoga, silver sneakers, etc. My desire to take care of me is there, yet it is SOO easy to plop in that recliner with some high calories when the house gets quiet and all are asleep~ I need some intestinal fortitude (hmmm, sounds like juice)
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: I am positive I can't do this alone, have already proved that~ I picked the first available guided reboot program even though it is but 15 days. Need to break my negative cycle asap.
  • Favorite Juice? none yet

Hi. I was wondering if you happened to see the link KeriAnne included in her Journal entry this morning about latest UCLA research on reversing Alzheimer's. Really interesting. I'm going to try some of the steps on my brother. With a 9 out of 10 success rate, that's something to look seriously at.

How did you end up doing on the 15-day reboot? Are you continuing on? How are you? How's your hubby?

Awesome - how's it going so far? I have a Breville and love it - the pulp is still a bit juicy at times, though, so I'd love to get one of the really hardcore ones that supposedly gets every last bit of juice out.

This group is inspired by all the amazing people I have met in this community who, like me, have or had 100 lbs or more to lose when starting this journey with our wonderful Joe Cross:) There are special challenges in this world for those of us who are "morbidly obese" and there are some incredibly inspirational people around here conquering those challenges every day. Come be inspired and inspiring!
