Hi Barbara--Great to hear from you too. Would love to share with you on Facebook; but will need to get an account.....and learn how to use it. I think I will set that as a goal for 2014. My daughter and son-in-law will freak out when they learn I'm getting Facebook. LOL

Well, today my Omega 900HDC masticating juicer arrived...and I think I am in love. "Piece of cake" to operate, efficient, and clean-up is a breeze. Love it! There are so many to choose from...a fellar can go berserk deciding.

It is encouraging when your family sees the difference in you; then they want to try juicing. How proud you must be of your daughter. You and her are both setting a good example for the future. Our daughter is breastfeeding right now; but as soon as she 'weans'; she is jumping in again. You are right about the time factor...any short cut will be welcomed by your daughter. Our daughter's husband is a stay-at home dad (she's a colo-rectal surgeon), so fortunately he does the juicing for her.

When we transition, I'll be pickin' your brain for sure. Keep up the good work and learning about plant-based nutrition. See ya' friend :) Izzi

Izzi, glad to hear about the juicer. I don't understand when one wants a masticating - does it do everything - fruits, veggies?? Do you get more juice with them?

And wow, you have a surgeon in your family! I think that is so great that she is open to all this! And kudos to her for breastfeeding - am so glad to see a resurgence in that again. I was the lone ranger when I did it in this part of the country and the doctors didn't know as much about it as I did. All I knew was that it was the natural thing, therefore, the right thing for my babies! Good for her! My daughter has done that too, am so glad.

I absolutely love being in touch with my kids and some of my "old" friends who have mastered FB. I so wish I could get the rest of them to do it! Such a great way to stay in touch, and photos and videos are super easy to share from smartphones. It does take a little effort at first, but believe me, it's nothing compared to this juicing business, haha. I look forward to you getting that done :)

I am trying real hard to figure out just what I should be eating daily, haven't really found a "formula." Eat to Live helps a lot, as does the cookbook. I also got the Forks Over Knives cookbook and like it too. Some mighty delicious things and if I could get my hands on more variety, oh boy! Even so, it's great. I have come to the conclusion that if I just try to keep it natural and somewhat diverse it will be fine. I am going to try to make some almond milk today and see how that goes. Kale chips are wonderful! And easy.

I had planned on getting some work done today, but all this is important too! Take care!

Hi Barbara---Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Aren't granddaughters the best? (and grandsons too... I only have granddaughters though.) You do activities just like I do with mine. Living in the 'boonies' certainly does have advantages. We have so many adventures.

Yes, so far our average freggie bill is $105 per week for the both of us. (We are beginning Day 44 of Juice fasting on 12-1-13.) I do utilize as many organics pending their avaiability.

Did you ever decide on which juicer to purchase?

P.S. I haven't touched the China Study again......the time just slips away....but will try to read eventually. I know that it is really a good book. (My husband happened to have it in his library...Yippee!)

Here's to good health friend. Keep in touch.

Hi Izzi! I am always so glad to see a note from you. Yes, granddaughters (have four, one on the way) are wonderful. I have one grandson too, but we hardly ever get him. Do you happen to do Facebook? My kids made me do it and now I am so glad. I post a lot of photos - mostly grandchildren, wildflowers, sunsets, horses and chickens. Would love to share with you. Sounds like we may have a lot in common! Idea on how to do that? I see a facebook icons on here but . . . I don't know.

I am doing nothing on a juicer for now. I figured I might try the Breville from Amazon eventually and return it if I don't like it.

I got The China Study on my Kindle, but also got a copy from library for my husband to read. Trouble is I only read about three pages before my eyes slam shut at night and I am not retaining much . . . but am getting the idea. Probably only 30% through it. I think I will buy a hard copy and have it for a reference book.

Great news! At Thanksgiving my daughter (lives five hrs. from us) saw how great I was feeling and my wt. loss and went home and bought a juicer yesterday already! She is so busy, working and two little ones, so am trying to help her get started without investing as much time as I had to. She wants to juice and eat healthy! I am thrilled and you know this is going to trickle down to those little girls!

Look forward to hearing from you again! Keep on juicing and feeling well!

Hi Hopefull! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I am thrilled for you with the 25 lbs. I did 30 days of just juicing and then this week started to transition. I feel like all I do is grocery shop or chop veggies and now look for veggie recipes! But it's worth it. Both my husband and I feel so different - it is amazing, isn't it? Hard to believe or know unless you are doing it. I try to share with other people but for the most part they don't want to hear it. They just think I am "ruining my health"! They want me to have solids and (animal) protein! But I am sticking to my guns this time.

Started cleaning out cupboards yesterday, more today, and donating all the food we will never eat again. Now if I could just buy a giant refrigerator! Our main goals now are to get off all medications, and I feel confident that is going to happen. My husband quit taking his blood pressure pills two weeks ago and he checked it today and it was normal! My weight isn't down where it should be, but I feel it will still come off, just more slowly, and I am okay with that. I am still juicing 2-3 x a day to be sure we are getting all our veggies in.

Don't you just wish everyone could know about this?! How long do you think you will just juice, or are you just playing it by ear? That's how I started - I was going to juice for 3 days, haha. Good hearing from you, Hopefull.

Thanks for your interest and support. My intention is to create a group that goes beyond a classic 3/10/15/30/60 day reboot regimen into a reboot juicing/eating lifestyle shift. No need to re-gain pounds and re-do hard-earned rebooting efforts. I have reversed all disease, diabetes, chronic ailments, and have maintained and sustained a 150 pound weight loss with Daily Reboot Green & Rainbow Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFood eating lifestyle. (WFPB - means whole food plant-based ingredients, plant-based foods as close to their natural state as possible). . Please see the original feature at Reboot with Joe success profile at: http://bit.ly/1czS3JJ .

There is also some behind the scenes footage, a video testimonial and a Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead commercial spot to view at ---> http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/dan-miller/

I completely understand and empathize where you all might be coming from - I have so been there and done that. The hardest part is just making the decision to commit to your self. It seems that once you make the decision to overcome confusing eating habits and make a change....the quick results and new found energy pumps you up to follow through, prevail and find success.

After watching my beloved Joe Cross & personal saviour Phil Staples in www.fatsickandnearlydead.com and with further reading of Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat to Live", "The China Study and WHOLE" by T. Colin Campbell and, watching the recommended "Forks Over Knives' documentary, I discovered that eating plant-based wholefoods and drinking green vegetable juices will in fact aid you to overcome highly addictive hyper-palatable foods like animal-derived products, dairy, fats & sugar and to overcome poor eating habits like; the excessive consumption of animal protein products, oil & cholesterol, refined sugar, high sodium and other nutrient deficient junk food, all which led to my obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and my wife's battle with osteo-arthritis and auto-immune diseases.

Be sure to review all the posts below starting on page one through to the present... there are videos, viewpoints, comments, pictures and links to aid you in your personal journey to lose weight and gain optimum health with Reboot Vegetable Juicing and a Plant-Based WholeFoodist attitude. I could make a number of suggestions while undertaking a reboot juice feast regimen or simply incorporating more fruits & veggies (whether juiced, blended or eaten whole) into your daily meal planning. First of all – Be Kind to Your Self! It took many years and lots of poor food choices to become overweight – It will take some time to lose it. Your body must be allowed to come into balance with phytonutrient dense plant-based foods. There will be plateaus during your weight loss journey – you’ll think nothing is happening, but it is. ************Avoid the scale to avoid disillusionment.......... Clean out your pantry to avoid temptation.****************

The weight will come off with reboot vegetable juicing and a plant-based food choice – but must be allowed to integrate and work with your level of conscious nutrition.

Free yourself from added eating stress and change the way you approach it. Forget dieting and just start a process of "Incorporating ~ Eliminating". Start incorporating a larger quantity of (cooked or raw, juiced or blended) plant-based whole foods like: green and rainbow color fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans-peas-legumes, nuts & seeds . Start eliminating and weeding out the SAD diet foods like: drive-through junk & hyperpalatable fast food, animal products (meats, seafood, shellfish, eggs), animal-derived products (dairy, butter, cheese, ice cream, whey, casein, lard), oil fat/sugar/sodium-laden processed, refined and packaged foods. .........>There is over 40 years of research supporting that a WholeFood–PlantBased (WFPB) eating lifestyle will rejuvenate & regenerate your whole body, will alleviate chronic annoying symptoms, and reverses degenerative diseases like: obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Reboot Juicing is a tool to discover and compliments a shift to including more plants into your daily eating habit.

------> Not only is plant-based whole foods the healthiest way of eating that has ever been studied, but it’s far more effective in promoting health and preventing disease than prescription drugs, surgery, vitamin and herbal supplementation, and genetic manipulation. A PlantBased Reboot Juicing lifestyle entails; No counting calories, No drowning in minutiae about what to eat or what not to eat --- just simplify and make wise health-promoting choices........ DRINK Vegetable Juices & EAT Plants!

This group is open to all exploring extreme weight loss with reboot vegetable juices and incorporating more plant-based nutrition. I have found that combining Reboot Juicing with a Plant-based whole food eating lifestyle has worked for extreme sustained weight loss and achieving optimum health - the results have been phenomenal.
