  • About: I was a smoker until about six years ago when I quit. Up to that point I my weight rarely exceeded 150 Lbs. Within six months of quitting my weight shot up to over 200 Lbs. Thanks to several sources such as the health message spread by the Seventh-day Adventist church, the "Amazing Health Adventure" lectures by Dr. John Clark from Northern Lights Health Education, and the movie "Forks over Knives", my wife and I became vegans over two years ago. Between eating healthy and doing a lot of bicycle riding, I got my weight back down to 165. However, the winters are hard. Can't do much riding so my weight it back up to over 170. I've seen Joe's movie before, but at that time I thought I was doing okay on my own. But now with spring coming on I'm ready to get back in the saddle. Last year I rode over 3500 miles. This year I want to break 4000.
  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: The extra weight I put on over the winter is making it difficult to breath. Especially under exertion. By doing a reboot, I can shed that weight quickly and which in turn will allow me to work up to doing those long rides on the bike that I'll need to do to break my record. Last year I rode 95 miles in a single trip. This year I want to break the 100 mile single trip. My wife also has put on some extra pounds and wants to ride more with me this year, so this will benefit both of us. On the plus note, even though we are both vegans, the food looses a lot of nutritional value in the cooking process. Juicing raw veggies will help boost our intake of essential vitamins and minerals tremendously. I plan to do a reboot every three months after this initial reboot.
