  • Why I've Joined Reboot with Joe: To get my weight back to where it should be and improve my cholesterol and A1C numbers. I am not diabetic but on the cusp. I would also like to cut my cravings for unhealthy foods. I come from a long string of years of guzzling pop/soda and eating lots of pizza and other junk.
  • Favorite Juice? Sweeter ones
  • Food temptation? If I don't talk about it, maybe it will go away!

Hope you are well! I am serving 200 kids lunch tomorrow at a picnic for our homeschool group. I have my juices packed and ready to take with me! Hot dogs have always grossed me out anyway, so I am actually kind of glad that is what we are serving! Lol. Have a pleasant day tomorrow! Cheers! Oh, and I found out today my juicer does not like kale. Hmmm....back to spinach. I couldn't get it to juice the kale at all. It kept jamming and then coming to a complete stop! It's a Jack LaLannes Power Juicer, and works really well otherwise. I don't have the money to buy a different one, so after the reboot, I will just smoothie my kale with juice from other veggies. I often do that, juice then toss it in the vitamix with a few handfuls of greens that don't yield much juice. It's a win win. Anywho, check back in tomorrow night!

Have fun at the lunch! That's a lotta kids! I'm glad for you too that it's hot dogs.

Oh hey, regarding the kale. Do you roll up the leaves before putting them in the chute? I had that same juicer before, and I rolled up the kale and other large leafies, and it worked great.

Well, I am off to get ready for work. I have lost 1.8 lbs just in the last couple days . I feel like I am in a groove now, and my desire not to mess that up (by eating) is a lot stronger than it was before! So I am excited about that.

    Happy Friday!

That is great! Weight loss is a bonus! I took my juice in an old Pom bottle and people were asking me all day about green pom juice! They were all so confused! I actually prefer not to share my juicing journey with everyone quite yet, so I didn't say much other than tell them what it was I was drinking. I didn't give the why's. I guess I need more of a success story before I feel like sharing. Are you telling all that ask or are you like me and prefer to keep it to yourself for now and just talk to others (on this site) who won't pick it apart, criticize, or tell me I am nuts....just curious. I did have someone ask me if I have lost weigtheir recently, funny thing is I haven't really. Maybe a pound or two, but my belt is fitting me differently. I feel lighter but the scale isn't moving much. I don't care tho, weight loss isn't my real goal. Cheers! Baseball game to go to tonight, for my son...those sunflower seeds will be staring me down, but I will not eat them! ;)

I don't really have anyone ask me, but I have told my friends. I don't think I have grossed anybody out with the juice, that I know of anyway. My friends who know about it are happy for my weight loss.

I am still struggling with slight headaches at times... are you drinking lots of water? I am drinking about a half gallon a day. It helps when I get hungry to drink a huge glass of water. I squeeze lemon into it.

Angiekm, I read your post in the SC about struggling a bit, yet sort of sticking to the path. So, I have been the same way. I have to admit, I have juiced daily, but it seems I am starting with a modified reboot and have been for weeks, but I truly WANT to do a juice only. I NEED to for my health issues. When I have eaten, it's not been bad foods, mostly meat or fish with veggies and fruits, some nuts, and a few sweet treats. I was wondering if you would like to set a date with me for a juice only reboot. I consider the last weeks as a way to get my feet wet. I am ready now. I say we start with a 10 day and truly commit to juice only, then assess how we feel. I see these amazing people on SC going for 30 days, and I want that! What do you say?!

Hi GreenShoes, yes I like that idea! I totally want to do juice only and see how many days I can do it. I think if we got a few days under our belts, we would feel more confident in doing more.

Ok! So, let's commit to 10 days, no chewing, then go from there. When would you like to start? I am good with any date from tomorrow to next monday. You pick!
