I am back on some food and now am juicing morning and lunch. This seems to be helping my bowels to regulate. And much relief to my backside! Juicing 100% was literally a pain in my rear. But, I lost weight and am determined to continue losing. at 243 and holding. I love juicing! I will be purging my system at least twice a year with another juice fast! I think it is great for the colon and digestive tract as a whole!

Juiced up 3 days worth and ready to keep it up for another week. Week 2 here we go. The really loose stools are really irritating my backside. Since I'm a driver I have hemorrhoids. The multiple runs to the bathroom in between deliveries is getting very inconvenient as well. I started at 253 and weighed in at 243 yesterday. So there has been some great progress. My ideal weight is 225, which was my football weight. I have amended my thirty to fifteen and am going to South Beach Diet after next week. This fast has been VERY GOOD for me and I know it cleaned me out like a Roto-rooter and Drano! I am going to fruit juice morning and mean green afternoon and have a South Beach dinner(which is fruits/veggies/lean meats/ no processed carbs) with the family and I think that should regulate my bowels and eliminate the time sucking runs to the privy. Thank you Joe for opening my eyes to the food disease which we here in America are stricken with! Juice On!

Day 7 and whoops! My wife called her mother yesterday and got all freaked out about me not getting enough protein. They were worried that I was doing damage to my heart. Well, my already screaming stomach didn't need much of a push so I caved. I had 2 hardboiled eggs, a handful of salted peanuts and about 4 oz of leftover plain pulled pork. All protein, yet it was FOOD. So now I feel like I failed. But, I am determined to carry on. So here I am typing and drinking my juice. I will be purchasing some protein powder from the healthfood store today to alleviate my wife's and mother's fears. So I can push through this 30 days. DadGumIt anyway!

Day 6 and feelin' fine! Had a orange/lime/lemon mix over banana in the blender for a special breakfast which really filled me up and was bout to skip my morning green juice, but thought I better keep those greens zipping through. I am definately cleaned out, if you know what I mean. :)

Well, day five almost over. I have had hunger pains much of the afternoon, but it's more my mind messing with me than anything. I was faced with a huge obstacle this afternoon. Believe it or not my nemesis was a bag of kettle chips sitting near me. Part of me just wanted to tear into that bag. The sane part of me said this is not conducive to a fast. I think I am having salt cravings, so will allow myself a 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt to punch out that craving. Well, mean green here we go.

I meant to ask, did you ever give up the coffee yet or have you decided to wait a bit? Day two was BAD for me in that area but easier on Day 3. If you only drink your morning coffee, it shouldn't be TOO bad for you. I was a caffeine JUNKIE... and now I'm paying for poisionous temporary energy boosts... I will kick the habit though, I am becoming stronger as each day passes. Our body is our temple.....

Yes, I have not had any coffee. Day four almost over. I think this is the longest I have ever gone without eating in my 38 years. I am really wanting this to stick and not be a crash diet. I am thinking about using South Beach as soon as this cleanse is over. I really like the South Beach because you use fruits, veggies, and lean meats. Anyway, Juice on!

Well day three and so far so good! Just got a little light headed about 5 hours into work so I guzzled some water and that helped a bunch. MY stomach says "WHY AREN"T YOU FEEDING ME!!!" Well, it will get over it!

I'm not a religious guy, but I went to a Jesuit high school named after St. Peter. I remember something that Jesus told to Peter, and it resonates with what we are trying to achieve here. Our body is our church, and temptations will not ruin it with the rock being our reboot. Jesus said, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

I love those verses and appreciate you reminding me of them. I will keep repeating those words because on day 3 here I am having a hard time. My body says "Why AREN'T YOU FEEDING ME???!!!" But, my mind says "You can do it!" Mind over matter. If Jesus can fast 40, I can at least get to 30 :) Hey! I'm not religious either, I just love the Lord!! Matter of fact, My job requires me to work Sun through Thursday so I make it to church only once in a while. But I talk with God every day. It's about the relationship with Him, not all the pomp and circumstance and traditions surrounding what we call church. Be blessed my friend!

Well, day 2 wasn't too bad. Even with my family talking about thanksgiving and giving me a hard time already. Yet, I am unmoved!!! 28 more days to go!! Mean green here we go!
