Hi, everyone. I'm back. I had some surgery about 12 days ago to implant leads for a new kind of pain device. My trial ends tomorrow (on the device) and then I have to decide whether to have the permanent one put in, which means a bigger surgery. Unfortunately, it was difficult to figure out how well it was working because I only had one day of no pain and then it starting coming back.....

Enough of all of that...I have not been doing 100% juicing since the surgery. I had lost 21# (started May 1st) when I weighed myself the day before and have not weighed myself since then because there is a large battery pack attached to my back. I get this contraption taken off tomorrow so I will weigh myself on Tuesday to see how much damage eating and juicing has done. I'm very worried about going off this reboot entirely and keeping the weight off.

How many days have you juiced to lose 40#, deester? That's terrific. And how much have you lost now, LuRae? I've lost track of how many days you've been juicing; have you reached 60 days now?

Looking forward to being back with everyone now. On July 1st I'm leaving to visit my daughter for 10 days and won't be able to bring my juicer along. How in the heck will I manage that?!

Great to hear from you Swissmiss! Glad the surgery went well, sure do hope that it all goes the way you want it to. I know that RM does a lot of traveling and manages to juice only in her travels. You may want to reach out to her and see if that is something that's workable for you. She is on the 60 Days! Commit and Persevere! group mostly.

I've lost 19 pounds and am on day 53. I had hoped for better weight loss but I will continue to juice as I transition into my soon to be new routine in a week and hopefully continue to see some loss. I will plan on another reboot but not committed as to when as yet.

I am on rarely right now as my data is almost down to nothing and until it resets on the 13th I'm just checking in occasionally.

Enjoy your daughter and have a wonderful visit!

Off of 10 day reboot, transition and now eating. Have increased exercise now. Still losing weight but very slowly now. Plan on a 5 day reboot in July. Hope everyone is doing great. I've learned to cook large dishes and freeze portion sizes that can be nuked. Make one juice a day even now. Down a total of 40lbs.

Just finishing up dinner-juice and saw this on Facebook. Oh so true. Back to juicing for tomorrow, Sleep Tight and don't let the Bed Bugs Bite!

You got that right. My goal is to get off thyroid medicine as well as lost weight.

Day 20 and 11.8 pounds down. I hope my weight gaining days are past now that I found what I was doing wrong, at least until I make a large dent in the weight I need to lose. I also hope I can manage to keep at it after my son gets back with having to share the refrigerator and kitchen again. I am in a routine now and don't want to stop.

Glad to hear that things are heading in the right direction! Maybe you can schedule a "your time only" in the kitchen when he gets back. Just let him know that he's better off that way as you will live longer (and so will he... ha ha)! Maybe section off a portion of the fridge that is his only. Worked when I had to rent out a room! Or maybe a dorm fridge in his room? Just some thoughts...

Well, since it's my house and my kitchen, he will have to share. :) Since I have narrowed down some ingredients for my juices, that should help with the space in the refrigerator. I'll have to get it more organized for when he comes back. Right now, things are just wherever I found room when I went to the store, and I haven't had time to organize much with working and making the juice after work. By the time the juice is finally made, it's time to get ready for bed since I have to get up early for work. The green juice has been taking a long time with having to stop and unclog the pulp hole, but I may have had the adjustment too small for some of the ingredients. It's just a matter of experimenting to see what works.. I also run the green juice through the juicer twice to get rid of some of the pulp in the juice.

My son had mentioned that he should go on a juice fast too when I told him how much I had lost. He doesn't have a lot to lose but it is more than he is used to weighing. I just hope he doesn't want to share my juicer since it gets worked hard with just me using it. :)

Hello You Awesome 60 Plus Rebooters! I am still Juice Only, on Day 92 of 100 and feeling great. I am so impressed with your reboot journeys and I am here to cheer you on because you are worth it.

As some of you know, I attended a week long conference in April/May 2016 called the FAT LOSS SUMMIT. I am still reading and studying the material, and wanted to share one great resource with you today. One of the speakers was Marc David, M.A. He is the founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating in Boulder, Colorado, and the author of several books. He has been in practice for over 30 years and specializes in the full range of clinical nutrition challenges, eating disorders, weight concerns, body image struggles, and the most common food challenges such as overeating, binge eating, emotional eating, endless dieting, and weight loss resistance.

Please let us know what he says. That's a work day for me and I will be just leaving work if I get off on time when it starts. Do you know if it will be able to be viewed later?

  • LuRae

Shari, I did sign up for it but I won't be able to log in until one hour after it starts. I couldn't find anything that said it was going to be recorded for later use. I know that there is a sales push along with the seminar but as long as I'm able to say "no" then that doesn't bother me.

  • RM

LuRae, if you register they will give you the opportunity to listen to it later at your convenience. However, if something changes I will record it on my phone and figure out a way to post it to the reboot website. Do not worry about sales pitch, it will be a minor part of the event. Even Joe Cross has minor sales pitches after his webinars. Shari sign up anyway, so you can listen to it later. Nighty night.

Day 42 - Bummed out that I gained 3# since last Wednesday. I think I'll go back to daily weigh-ins so I can catch it sooner if there is a problem. Any chance that antibiotics can cause the gain? I still have another week to go on them for the tooth abcess. I'll put myself on a good probiotic as soon as I'm done. I'm sure ready for a new, no-problem day!!!

  • Shari

I weigh myself each day just to keep track of it since this is the first time I am doing a reboot. I feel your frustration. I think catching it is a good thing until you get to the weight you want to be.

I don't know about the antibiotics but you never know what kind of effects the drugs they give you will be. The last time I took antibiotics, the nurse in my doctor's offices recommended taking probiotics at the same time as I was taking the antibiotics.

  • RM

Absolutely the antibiotics can cause 'water weight gain'. Antibiotics cause inflammation, and anytime body areas are inflamed there will be swelling from fluid going to the area, including extra blood flow. Adding the probiotic now will help. I know, I know. I used to wait until the antibiotics were done, but found they really helped with symptoms during the antibiotic treatment. Did the surgery go ok? The antibiotics are important for you right now, so do continue taking them and complete them all. Do not worry about the scale right now. If you are drinking juice only every day, there is magic happening and you will notice it after the antibiotics are done. The antibiotics also make you tired and cranky, but they are important for you right now as a dental infection is very serious.

    Juice On.

RM - Dentist did not want to pull the broken molar tooth, he decided it was worth saving, so he posted it and filled it. Tooth just in back of that is capped and has an abscess but no way I can afford the $1800 crown so he's hoping that antibiotics will hold it at bay. If it continues to act up then I'll just have it pulled. My problem is I have a mouthful of old fillings that have become week and need replacing. Considering the majority have been around since the 60's guess I'm not doing that bad. Thank you for the wealth of info. I'll get started with the Garden of Life Raw Probiotics I have.

LuRae me too. I have alot of dental work I have been putting off due to money. I had a bad dental abscess in 2014 that haunted me for 18 months. I tried every natural (oregano oil) to un-natural (antibiotics), and it just kept coming back. I finally had it root canelled last year. Did not want to do it, but it was starting to affect my heart. Hang in Dude-ette...:)

Day 19 and I am back to the weight I was three days ago, 10.6 pounds down again. I hope the scale keeps going down since I found the coconut water problem and corrected that. Better late than never.

  • Shari

Day 18 and .2 pounds gained yesterday, but I saw one reason why that may have happened. I have been using coconut water with added sugar when I thought it was unsweetened. I read the ingredients on a smaller can of it in the store that only had coconut water in it and no sugar but decided to get the larger can thinking it was the same thing when it was not. I changed brands and bought Taste Nirvana since others said it was the best tasting, but it is very expensive, even at the cheapest price I could find local or online. I have read some posts on here that the juices contain enough electrolytes and you don't have to have coconut water. Any thoughts on that?

  • LuRae

Glad you found part of the problem! I've been buying my coconut water at either Costco or Walmart. I like the Trader Joes brand, best tasting, but only comes in the small 12 oz. Costco and Walmart have the bigger 33 oz. 100% coconut water, no additives so the sugar is natural. Tough to find organic at a decent price. My thoughts on the juices is if you're not hungry then coconut water would be a better alternative for getting the electrolytes. I did find this in the discussions: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/electrify-your-reboot... I wish there was a recycle effort for the containers,

Hi a super juicy day! Lu

Thanks LuRae. I checked WalMart's website but Wegman's was still cheaper on the Taste Nirvana @15.4 cents per ounce for a 16.2 ounce can. They had several other kinds, but I went with one that most people said was the best tasting. Some I am hesitant to try because of the reports from others saying they tasted bad. I checked on one called Harmless Harvest, but that was really expensive. I'll check the local WalMart and see what they have. I was checking around online and found one company selling Taste Nirvana for less than Wegmans. It's a tea company in New York. It's not a lot cheaper than Wegman's but every little bit helps. Reboots can get expensive.

Day 17 and gained a pound back yesterday after some amazing losses the previous two days. I'm not going to stress about this and see how today goes.

Day 16 and 10.6 pounds gone. That is my second highest daily loss since I started. Things are starting to go the right way now. I'll see what happens the rest of the week.

Thanks LuRae. Maybe it just took this long for things to pick up. I also eliminated the sweet potatoes as of yesterday. The recent weight loss has made me more motivated. I may have a few people here who would want to do this when they see my results.

Shari, that's wonderful. Great going. Guess we don't have to tell you to juice on!
