Wow, I read this article three times and still not sure I understand it. I learned what ABCs were (Age Associated B Cells), and that there is something inside B cells called transcription factor (T-bet), that causes ABCs to develop which in turn cause autoimmune disease. B cells (B lymphocytes) are a type of white blood cell that mature in the bone marrow. When transcription factor (T-bet) is turned off, then autoimmune diseases do not occur. I do not think researches have yet figured out how to turn off the transcription factor. Maybe that will occur in the next grant?

Here is my latest Metabolizer Cocktail: 1 large ripe tomato, 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime or lemon juice, handful of fresh parsley, handful of romaine lettuce or spinach, 1 green onion, 1 clove garlic, 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste), 1/8 teaspoon mustard, 1/8 teaspoon turmeric, 1 inch of ginger, 2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil, 1 tablespoon chia seeds. This makes one serving and is the perfect booster cocktail containing just the right amount of fat-stoking cayenne pepper, mustard, turmeric, and ginger to raise heat production in the system and kick fat burning into high gear. I sometimes drink 3 of these a day and the bloat comes off easily. Enjoy.

Happy Thursday Evening Everyone. This afternoon was my first day without dental or jaw pain. I just lived through TWO ENTIRE weeks of dental and jaw pain. Yikes, it was awful. I can never get that time back. I am on Day 9 of 12 of the Steroid treatment, and can not believe it took 9 days to have a few hours without pain. My left jaw just completely locked up and was in total spasm. Very strange that this all happened because of a simple dental cleaning. I think the hygienist did something that affected my left dental bridge, because that is what hurts. I have never been sensitive to cold or hot before, and now I suddenly am. I think the bridge is loose or something. Anyway, once the inflammation is down enough that I can open my mouth again I will have to go back to the dentist and have them x-ray and investigate this area to identify the trigger. Thanks to everyone for your prayers in helping me get through this.

Haven't tried this, just came up in my AIP group and has multiple people raving about it: Nomato Sauce - tomato-less marinara

some people cannot have tomatoes or peppers due to inflammation issues.

Dahlia, everything OK? Haven't seen you in a while.

RM, how is your jaw? Praying much better!

Shari, how goes your juice fast?

Sophie, after my weight-in on Saturday, I gained for 3 days straight, then lost a small amount yesterday. I'll see how the rest of the week goes. This one is certainly proving more challenging with temptations, but I have stuck with it.

How do you feel on this juice fast, Shari? Good for you for sticking with it when it's challenging!

This one is proving to be more challenging as far as temptations go, but I feel fine. If I lose another pound by Saturday morning, I will have lost the same as the first two weeks on the first juice fast. This one will be a total of 35 days, so I'll see if I can lose the rest of the weight by then. I have a family reunion to go to after that. My daughter wanted to know via text message if I wanted to go out to lunch or dinner for Mother's Day, but I told her I was in the middle of a juice fast and asked to postpone eating until I was finished. I am waiting for her reply.

How are you doing, Sophie? How is your health now?

Thanks for checking in Sophie. I have had a terribly painful two weeks. A simple dental cleaning turned into a nightmare of dental pain and jaw pain. I do not know how, but the hygenist did something that loosened a dental bridge and cause horrible nerve pain. This then set off muscle spasms of the masseter, and horrific jaw pain. I mean horrific, to the extent that I could not open my mouth at all and had to cancel all my work and live with a cold ice pack 24 / 7. I am on Day 9 of 12 with steroid medication, which is awful. I have never been on steroids before, and it is eating up my tummy, giving me heartburn, and complete loss of appetite (not in a good way). This afternoon was the first day that I did not have pain. Mornings are the worst, but do not know why. Once my jaw stabilizes, I still have to deal with fixing that bridge problem. Wow, I wish I had never gotten my teeth cleaned. I had no idea this kind of problem could occur.

Dear God, RM, how horrifying! I cannot even imagine how horrible this was for you. Thank God you now have relief.

RM, it sounds like you should not go back to that dentist, or, at least, not to that hygienist. That is awful.

This is good to know. One of my juices during this juice fast contains a beet.

I use very few processed items, for those I do buy I carefully read the labels. Here is a helpful piece on the 6 Most Common Gum Additives in Food: Which Ones to Avoid.

Sophie, this is an excellent article on gum additives. I did not understand that there were so may different kinds of gum additives. I printed this article off; it is a keeper.

I have not tried these, but they look pretty and if they work would be fabulous! Mosquito Repellent Mason Jars

Sophie, this is fabulous. I do not live somewhere with mosquitos, so wonder if it will work with other types of flying night bugs. I assume you would use this at night? I simply love how beautfiul it is.

Cool! Going through some previous blood test results in prep for Functional Med doc appt next week, found I had all the right tests for Thyroid done 2013 - results well in normal range for each. Figure this is a good baseline for comparison with new set doc will run.

Hmmm.. or maybe not. Watching an excellent talk on Lyme by a noted specialist: Demystifying Lyme by Dr.Klinghardt, and I saw something about normal to low Thyroid on testing is not necessarily accurate in chronic Lyme patients (around time of 48:53)

Guess I'll know more after my appt and testing! This is just one of several possible reasons for why my weight refuses to budge.

Sophie, do you have Hashimoto's? I have my annual physical in June 2017, and will have them do all the appropriate (normal and special thyroid tests). I am curious about this too. Keep me posted on your functional doctor appointment.

Happy Saturday Everyone. I had a painful week with my TMJ/TMD. It started last Friday when I simply had my teeth cleaned. My jaw has been in spasm all week, even with some wonderful cranial sacral treatments. Unfortunately, I had to go on some steroids Thursday because the muscle spasms and inflammation got worse. I had to cancel all my appointments for the week and could not work. Spent alot of time on the sofa with an ice pack. I absolutely can not miss my Monday and Tuesday meetings, so am praying that the steroids kick in my then. I have not been able to open my mouth or chew without pain, so remain on a liquid or soft food diet. I need to save up some money to buy a new dental orthotic to prevent this from happening again, but that will not be until July so need to survive until then.

I made this yummy sweet potato fritter with poached eggs and spinach this morning. I highly recommend it. http://www.by-rosie.com/sweet-potato-fritters/

That sounds like a interesting combination, RM. I'll have to try that. Of course, my son and his fiancee cook Thai food, and eggs get added on top of some things you would not think a good combination too and they are good.
