Reboot for the month of April. NO "FOOD TALK" Created By katiejay

Let's start spring with a swift kick and do a reboot for the month of April. Our group began in March; some started and some left...but many stayed. This group is for anyone who wants to do a full juice fast. That means no solids are eaten OR talked about. If you feel that you need to be eating while juicing, there are other groups that have that as their focus. If you slip while on your reboot, just tell us that you slipped without going into specifics...and continue on. "Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible. Suddenly you're doing the impossible." St. Francis of Assisi

Just popping in I am on day 9 and I have been at a stand still for the last 4 days.. But I am not discouraged I have recently lost 32 pnds from juicing and clean eating and at my lowest weight since I was in high school. I have lost 7pnds so far and have 21 days to go.. Feeling great though :-)
I am currently on day 26 of a 60 day reboot. It is my very first one. It started out so well (I'm down 31 pounds now) and I was determined to finish my reboot without cheating or quitting. It was soooo much easier than I thought it would be and I was well into my 3rd week before I just wanted to take a big bite out of something! And the feeling is only getting worse. Now I'm seriously thinking about only doing a 30-day reboot. I know that would still be an accomplishment but I also know that if I don't meet the initial goal that I set for myself, I will be disappointed. I'm trying to see exactly what 60 days can do! How will I ever know if I don't stick with it? I know that if I quit after 30 days, I will probably never do a stint as long as this ever again. Also, my 35th birthday is in May and I'm trying to look and feel as good as possible! I already feel amazing, though.
I guess just typing this message has helped to renew my willpower a bit by reminding me of what I'm trying to achieve, but any tips or tricks you have could probably help.
Remember that will power is a muscle, that needs to be exercised! Right now, you are doing just that! When you really want to chew, try a piece of natural gum. Or perhaps have a cup or hot herbal tea. I find that stealing away from the chaos (and the kitchen), and going into my room to spend a few minutes in God's Word, specifically the Psalms really helps me.
Hang in there, you can do this! You are almost 1/2 way there!
I am only on day 10, but what keeps me going is that I feel like if I stop and start again, I would have to go through the hardest part again. I'm afraid I will avoid doing it again anytime soon! You have come so far, it inspires me to keep going, too. Jjust keep on going as long as you can, day by day. If you can do 26 days, you can do as long as you need or want to, you are on a roll. It's much easier to continue than to stop and then have to start again. Everyday is a day closer to your goal!
Good Afternoon Everyone ,
Wishing you all a happy Wednesday . Can you tell me what Juicers you guys are using? i see some Breville Juicers on ebay and some are reasonable priced..while others are charging more for postage that he price of the Juicer itself ...they must plan in posting to Mars or the Moon !! lol.
I see some 850 watts, 900 w, 1000 w, do you get more juice from a high wattage juicer or is the juice thicker ? i own a Cookworks 700 w which i bought in Argos last October for e40. in Ireland .
I find the Mean Green to be a little Watery at times..maybe they are all like this/ and when i store in my Fridge Freezer the solids tend to drop to the bottom as i am sure they all do this and it needs a good stir before drinking...does this happen to everyone ?
or are the more expensive juicers produce better quality juice ? all replies welcome . i care my juicer and wash and clean after every use i know when it packs in i will be going for a Breville so i want it to last me a while first...at 700 w it should be a reasonable juicer..2 speeds. I wash the strainer under the tap and clean from the outside with a Toothbrush and all the pulp just washes away from both outside and inside and indeed put a small plastic bag [supermarket] inside the pulp collector easy to remove afterwards and burn in my fire . Feast or Famine
I don't claim to be an expert, but I have had 2 juicers. The first one I bought years ago and it was a Jack Le Lane. I don't know what the watts were, but it was a standard, basic juicer. I recently upgraded to the Breville Duo, which is 1200 watts , variable speed, and has two different disks. One disk is for juice, one disk is for soft fruit smoothies (bananas, mangoes, berries, etc.). I love, love, love my Breville juicer! I also have a Breville blender which I absolutely love, I just think they make quality appliances. My friend just bought the Breville Juice Fountain and loves it, too. The main thing I notice with a better juicer is that the pulp that comes out is a lot dryer, it's extracting way more juice from the fruits and vegetables. The motor is powerful, doesn't jam, and is a lot quieter. The components of the machine are really sturdy, more stainless steel and less plastic. I'm sure others people have different opinions, but this has been my experience so far.
I hate floating pulp in my juice so I strain it after it comes out of the juicer. Makes for a noticably smoother juice :)
Today is my first day of a 30 day juicing fast. This is my second go at a fast my first was Feb 9th and it was a 7 day fast. It turned my life around. Within the 7 days I lost 14 pnds after ending my fast I started eating clean and continued juicing and since then I am down 25 pnds. I have been focusing on toning and my workouts. My starting weight before the first fast was 242 I am currently 217. My all time high was 300 pnds. So cheers.. :-)
Holly - what you've done so far is great. You're peeking at the 100's that are just around the corner. Good for you! Kate

Hi everyone I am going to start juicing tomorrow.
I need to switch to plant-based and juicing because a test I had done yesterday shows that I'm starting to lose muscle. My doctor wants the extended juice fasting to take a back seat to healthy eating. I'll be juicing for breafast and following Eat to Live and Forks over Knives the rest of the time...and doing 5-day reboots the beginning of most months. I'll still be here, though.
I find I have to have a mixed approach to. I juice for breakfast/lunch and follow a low GL/raw/vegan/peskatarian approach for my main meal. Still managed to drop a stone from 10 1/2 stone in a month so although slower seems to have come off the right places rather than loosing muscle. Good luck! I'm sure you will come out shining on the other side!
How much juice do you drink a day? I'm curious to know people's juice intake.
While on a juice fast, I do 64 ounces of juice and 64 of water.
"The greater the conflict, the more glorious the victory."
Second day of juicing going on.....i am starting to love juicing....love the taste....have no issues with hunger. The major problem was to make my colleagues understand y I am doing it, I am really serious about it etc as they flooded me with comments and puns and what not :( :P
I ignored them....no worries....going good so far....i also learnt that juicing takes much lesser time than cleaning the juicer later hehe....but then washing the veggies and fruits before juicing and cleaning the juicer properly later is v imp....
started losing few pounds already but I will wait until a week to see how much it goes exactly....loving it so far.
juice on my fellow mates :)
