Week one completed and so far so good. The weekend was not perfect as I was away with family. Had a few veggie meals instead of juice. Did no juicing at weekend so will spend this evening preparing for the week. Does anyone else freeze juices? is there any nutritional disadvantage? The handiness of juicing in bulk is essential for me. Energy levels and motivation good. Paddy

I freeze juices in mason jars you just have to leave the top loose when you freeze and 3/4 inch of head space so the jars won't crack. They say they keep no longer than 10 days but I have heard other people say they kept them longer than t 10 days, and still taste delicious. Also, there are some people who use a vacuum pump that you can get with a foodsaver to remove the air and seal their mason jars which they refrigerate for up to 10 days. I have a food saver and the vacuum attachment I have not tried it though. Usually I make my juices every 2 days and freeze juice only when I am traveling and not able to make juices daily.

Jumana, Day 14. I only get weighed once a week.I am a scale addict and I had my whole day ruined by a number on a hunk of metal.I had my hubby hide our scale. But people are telling me they can see I lost weight and I can fit into clothes that were too tight.

What a surprise! This morn8ngs Day 8 weigh in was 2 1/2 lbs, meaning I dropped that 2 day 1 1/2 lb gain, plus 1 more. Phew! I was a bit concerned.

I'm now thinking it happened because I played in my weekly volleyball match on Day 4, probably freaking out my body into thinking HIGH CALORIE demand unavailable, better store up.

Still feeling bloated and tired, but am staying the course!

Jumama, when the weight starts to go up and down a little, it's just better to weigh-in every few days, because on a day to day basis you can have a loss or a gain and it plays with your mind a lot. But it's always a loss if you weigh just every week, or every 5 days. This way you save yourself from dissappointment. Because sometimes you're really good - you play sports, drink all the right stuff and you expect for the scale to reward you for all the effort and it's dissappointing to see gain or the scale not moving. And it happens - water retention, hormones, body adapting to a new weight, to a new eating regime... Keep up the good work!

Just spent 3 ½ hours making juices. I wanted to make a few days in advance and freeze a couple. Now I have room in my fridge. Lol. Day 13 and everything is going well. This time I followed Joes recipes from the 5 day reboot. I forgot the make the red ones though. Trying to juice the rainbow.

So I went to buy some organic grown fruits and veggies today and I have loooots of it now. :) I'm going to make juice tomorrow that will last me for 3-4 days and freeze most of it. I bought a lot of fruits, so they are going to last me for a long time, but I only bought leafy veggies for a few days, because after a few days they are all wilted already. I'm really looking forward to a juicing-marathon tomorrow:) Goodnight.

So, today I spent 4 hrs juicing and I only managed to juice half of the produce. I would have given up half way through, but I didn't want to stop before I juiced all the leafy veggies. So much work. And the kitchen was such a mess! But at least I think I have enough juice until next weekend :) And I'll see if I like juicing like this - if I do, I'm going to continue like this, and if I don't, I'm going to juice like I did until now. Nonetheless, I think I'm going to make my evening juice fresh every day. It's 1 a.m., so I'm off to bed, I have to be at work in 5 hours. Happy juicing!

day 10 - it's great reading everyone's progress and how things are going - prep for juices is time consuming but I combine it while I am cooking for my family - so I have daily fresh juice - and I drink a dessert juice while I am cooking to keep myself from eating - - still hate drinking the green stuff - and I am not that fond of the coconut water- don't like the process but I love the result - I am 1/3 of the way and losing about a pound of weight a day so I am liking that! - drinking plenty of water and yes I hear everyone I make about 1,000 trips to the bathroom! - good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! Down 0.6 of a pound today bringing up my total to 12 pounds in 8 days. Last night I was super hungry and didn't feel like making another juice and didn't have coconut water on hand. And coconut water is expensive by the way! Like 3 dollars for a 500ml can. But I'm in Toronto and our dollar is crap right now anyway lol. So all that to say that instead of juice or coconut water I had some boxed no salt added vegetable broth. At first the taste was pretty bland and I wasn't sure if I liked it but by the end I enjoyed it and it filled me up and put me to sleep. I hope everyone has a good day!!

I'm in a suburb near Chicago. When I was out grocery shopping yesterday I was on the hunt for coconut water. For a 500 ml at Target (large US store) depending on what brands it's around $ 2.00 - $ 2.50. I went to a few dollar stores and some smaller chain grocery stores and picked some up for $ .99 for 500 ml and $ .80 310 ml. I'm not familiar with stores in Canada. But, maybe try some smaller stores to see if you can find a better price. And 12 pounds in 8 days - that's amazing (I'm sorta jealous!).

    Hey everyone:)

So, I decided that the part of preparing juices is just too much work for me at this time. At the moment I don't have enough time to buy fresh produce, prepare fresh juice 3 times a day, clean my juicer everytime... It's almost a full time job:) And juggling work, finishing my masters thesis and juicing at the same time it's just too much. I reached my breaking point today (and instead of making juice I opened a store bought juice).

So I decided that today, after I finish this essay I'm writing, I'm going to the buy looooots of fresh veggies and fruits, and lots of zip bags, and I'm going to make juice that is going to last me for 3 days and I'm going to freeze it. And I'm going to make juice only every 3 days. I know it's not as full of nutrients as freshly made, but I think it's better to juice like this than to stop juicing at all:)

I hear ya it's a lot of work!! Some days I wake up and dread having to prep all that produce, juice it and then clean the juicer. All I can say is try not to lose sight of the bigger picture. Nothing that is worth anything in life is going to come easy and personally I feel all that work is worth the results of juicing. Stay strong :)!!

Day 7 done. The last two days, I've gained 1 1/2 lbs. Totally bummed about this. I'm using juicerecipes.com and I'm wondering if her higher amount of fruits in the juice, literally 2 apples practically every recipe, is what might be doing it?

I had pretty much eliminated all fruits, but berries, for their low glycemic index and now, adding all this fruit juice, with less emphasis on veggies has me wondering if she just wants every recipe to taste extra super good???

I'm leaving to drive to Chicago tomorrow and am juicing all the recipes, storing them in mason jars, and bringing them with me the next 5 days. We'll see how things go! :)
