Hi everyone....today is day 28....really getting tired of juicing. I have been a member of this group for a while, but for some reason, the posting doesn't show up in my notification. This is happening for 2 groups. It says I a member of this group, but I don't now when someone posts. Does that happen to anyone else? I used to get notifications from this group. Juice on!!! -

Folks anyone else battling the cold weather, need inspiration / motivation. Green juicing might change up to carrot and orange only for couple of days and have a break from the green. Any tips ?

Day 17, I have lost 6.5 pounds so far which I am really happy with. I started at 134 lbs and am currently at 127.5 lbs. I'm about 12 lbs away from my goal so i'm eager to keep seeing that scale go down ( I weigh myself every 5 days so my next weigh in will be on Wednesday). I've had pretty good energy, i've been walking and jogging at nights and included the squat challenge since day 1 of my cleanse so i'm seeing good results there too. 13 days to go!

Hi All, I have a question about the protein powder. I have 3 kinds of plant based protein and I cannot stomach any of them. I am very sensitive to liquids with textures and it all tastes gritty to me. I even bought Joes thinking that it was made for juices, but I had a hard time getting it down. If anyone uses Joes and likes it, I’m willing to sell it half price if you pay the postage. Let me know. I always used whey protein and have no problem with it, but we are not supposed to have whey. Help anyone?

Try spirulina. You can get it in a health food store. I got mine from GNC. I open three capsules and dump it in my green juices. I haven't noticed a difference in taste or texture. It might help. Here is some info on spirulina (edible algae/superfood) from the University of Maryland Medical Center. I hope this helps.

I don't have scales in the house, I use the hospital scales and weigh in every 2wks or so (when I get around to it actually) and so far each time the weight had gone down, I know if I weigh myself daily my weight would go up and down and I refuse to let that type of thing happen as it de-motivates me hence my decision to get weighed every 2 or 3 wks, I'm g'teed to loose weight in that timeframe!

On those days you can't see the change on the outside, remember the changes happening on the inside. Didn't you say your A1C is down the other day? You can do this. It will show in the end.

Clemmie, I am also a type 2. and have found just the opposite effect from a juice fast. that through my juice fast my FBG, and daily BG readings came down. my A1c dropped to 5.6.

if the only thing we drank was fruit juice i can see where the concern with causing problems with diabetes, all the added fructose could cause our BG to rise. but with a 70/30 mix of vegtable to fruit we are getting so much good healthy nutrition, it makes our body very happy.

my doctor said i was going to put him out of business, if i kept it up. im ok with that.

Good morning! Down 0.8 of a pound. Feeling good. Only 16 more pounds until I reach my goal weight. Today I'm dealing with a lot of people who are questioning the juice fast and who tell me they are worried about me. It's throwing me off my game a little bit. 2 co-workers this morning were convinced that what I was doing was extremely unhealthy and were worried I would pass out. Then a friend emailed me and told me that science says juicing can actually cause diabetes. All this is just annoying me and making me doubt myself. Anyway I'll try not to let it get to me. I hope everyone has a good day today!

Hi Clemmie - I just wanted to encourage you to hang in there. You might want to tell people that you're doing a cleanse. For some weird reason, when I tell people that I'm on a juice fast, they turn up their noses and start giving me all their negative opinions, but if I say that I'm doing a cleanse, they're suddenly interested in knowing all about it.

I also want to set your mind at ease regarding diabetes. When I began adding juice to my life almost 3 years ago, I was injecting 105 units of insulin every night (and that's a LOT). Besides that, I was on the maximum dose of a diabetic medication called Metformin. Within 3 months, I was off the insulin and a month after that, off the pills. I am now diabetes free. I have cured my disease.

When you're doing a juice fast, you're likely getting far more nutrition than most of the people around you, so you keep doing what you're doing and ignore all the naysayers around you. This is your life and their opinions are nothing but words.

Remember to drink coconut water. It will help to keep you from getting light-headed. If you don't like the one you buy, try another. It took me 6 different brands before I hit on the one I like (UFC from Walmart).

Stay strong and don't give up.

Clemmie, hang in there. Juicing is probably healthier than what others are eating anyway... But I do understand how you feel. It annoys the hell out of me too, when my co-workers start giving me funny looks and tons of advises on how I should be eating, when I put my green juice on the table in the morning. I sometimes tell them, that I'm juicing only the first half of the day, but than I eat a normal lunch/dinner at home. Just so they can say "oh.. that sounds much better already!" Or I tell them that the doctor is thrilled with my lab results and told me to keep on doing what I'm doing as long as I check my blood every 2 weeks or sth. Not exactly true, but my lab results are faaar better than they were before:) In the past sometimes the comments throw me off so much, that I started eating. Not because I thought they were right, but because they made me feel so down, that I needed food to comfort myself. And I always tell myself - maybe I feel annoyed and a little less motivated after I hear everyone telling me to eat, but I will be far more annoyed with myself and sad, if I give up now. Hang in there! Happy juicing!

Health/juicing/weight-loss seems to be like politics and religion. Everyone has very strong opinions about how to or how not to, and why. Personally, I just make up my mind what I'm going to do and do it and try not discussing it with too many people around me. If I'm hanging out with friends or coworkers I just simply tell them I'm doing a cleanse or something... I have found if you ask five different people you will get five different answers about how best to get in shape. Don't let them shake your resolve! This isn't forever… It's to get to a goal weight and to transition to a balanced healthy way of eating that maintains your new weight.

Thanks guys I appreciate the encouragement. I'm resolved to complete the 30 days and also transition out properly. Good point about the coconut water. I had some this morning and I think it did help.

Hey Clemmie, point them in the direction of the FAT, SICK AND NEARLY DEAD MOVIE that might shut them up once they understand what it's all about and I'm with Kate bugger what they think, you know the truth so just keep on showing them the way to a happier healthier life, in the end they will start wanting to know more about it all once they see what you are doing works, congrats on the success you have achieved so far (that goes for everyone else in the group too) just keep working at it and day by day you will get there.

    JUICE ON!
