I had a good day yesterday but had difficulty falling asleep. Weigh-in I was down 1.8 lbs. from yesterday so I have reached my goal of losing a total of 15lbs. by the end of January. I will keep the ball rolling into February. :-)

Right now I need to weigh daily and post on here how I have done. I have had a difficult time getting the Juice Only ball rolling again and I feel that 'going public' will help me. Weigh-in this morning I was down 1.6 lbs. from yesterday so I am finally just below what I was when I finished my 42 day Juice Challenge December 13th. Arghhh! I agree with others that it is often easier to keep going than to start again!

I had knee surgery a few years ago before my surgery the doc suggested I ride a recumbent stationary bike to build up the muscles that attach to the knee. Every become been bike works really good and it's not a strain on the knees.

It definitely helped with my knee pain, I would have thought the opposite but nope it helped thank god. I think it helped because as you pointed out it help build the muscles and also the increased blood flow to the joint would no doubt have helped too.

Thanks for your encouragement, Scott. I also appreciate your exercise suggestions. I have read up on quick interval training and hope to one day get back at it. At the moment my osteoarthritic knees are so bad that I can only exercise in the pool which I do 3x a week. Hopefully I will lose enough weight to make land exercise feasible. Right now I can't stand for more than a few minutes and I use a walker or canes to get around. I am on a waitlist for knee replacements but want to lose 60 more lbs before the first operation. I have lost about 30 lbs since I joined Kate's November Challenge. I have been following your posts since you started and you have done really well! Congratulations!! At weigh-in this morning I was down a pound so I am encouraged to keep on juicing! Have a good day everyone. :-)

Your welcome Shandolyn, yeah the knees can certainly be a problem alright, mine are holding up so far but they do ache at times but I actually think the exercise has help some, when I first started this journey they were one of my main concerns because they hurt constantly and I wasn't sure if doing exercise was going to exacerbate the problem or not but I can say that I can now go up and down stairs without too much pain at all and without having to hang onto rails or walls, something I haven't been able to do for many years.

Slowly but surely life is getting better, still a long long long way to go but very happy with where I am and where I came from, today I will be in the pool doing a 45min workout (first time) so hopefully the body and mind will be up for the challenge!

Well done on your results so far Shandolyn, just keep at it, don't beat yourself up over weight gains here and there, they will always happen, it's what we do when it happens that really makes the diff between success and failure, me I look at it as just part of the journey to a happier/healthier me and it makes me more determined to just keep pushing forward to my goal.

Good luck with the Knee op when they happen, hopefully that will give you some relief from what is a painful problem.

1.4kg (3lb) loss this week for me, I think I'm down around 60lb or so now so tracking along nicely from when I first started my Juicing fast.

One week left for this January Challenge......I had lost 12 pounds but I have been adding soups, nuts and fresh vegetables this past week and have gained 2 pounds back. For this last week I am committing to Juice Only to try to make my initial goal of losing 15 pounds during January. I will report my progress here to keep me accountable. :)

Shandolyn I wouldn't let a couple of pounds worry you too much, the body can be funny how it reacts to different things like a change in diet, just keep at it and eventually you will win (the secret to any weight loss success is to not give up, if something isn't working for you try something else until your body is happy to release more weight, it's that simple, try and do some exercise if you aren't already if you are ramp it up a bit, do a bit of research on HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) the beauty of it is it can be as quick as 3 x 20sec intense bursts followed by 20 second rests between each burst, do that 3 times a week and you will seem results (do some research and see what it's all about).

    Good luck with your journey

I am on day 23. I started adding back in some soft solid foods on day 21, Salmon is what I chose, just an ounce or thereabouts.

And last week, I decided to eat the avocado, instead of blending it in my drink recipe on a couple days.

Today, I had avocado, salmon and scrambled egg to accompany my beet juice recipe.

I forgot to weigh this morning, but Yesterday I was 12 lbs down from a 189 start.
