To Soose. Thanks so much. I have the app and just seemed like a lot of food. I had done three days with just 3 of Joes Green Juice recipe. I was feeling great didn’t feel the need for anything else. Then I saw the food suggestions on the app. On his movie he stated juicing , nuts and beans. Never said anything about salad and soup. The way he talked about fasting I figured the juice nutrients would suffice. I wasn’t sluggish. As a matter of fact I felt amazing. I just might see about getting the book.

Hello Alice Wheaton! I hope you are doing well. I can’t get over how amazing I feel. I sleep like a log now. I have so much energy. It’s so wonderful seeing the weight come off. I’ve chosen to go ovo/ vegetarian because of the juicing. Never thought I would step away from meats, chicken fish and dairy in my life!!

Hello!! I’m Rita Le Roy. I’m from Brandon, MB. I’m new to juicing. We’ve been doing smoothies for years every morning but I’m overweight and 52. Ive been at it for 10 days and feel great. 17 lbs down. Just have one question. The App has recipes and other foods to add. I thought in a fast it’s just the juice you are supposed to be drinking only for 30 to 60 days according to Joe Cross in the films. I am just a bit confused. Can someone help me out? Just wondering if I’ve got it right. I’ve added the other foods and it feels like cheating.

Joe makes it clear in his reboot book (got it checked out from library right now) that a REBOOT (not a water or juice fast) can also consist of other fruits/veg solids and smoothies that you would juice, not juice only. I'm eating a large salad every day and also occasionally some veg soup. I seem to be doing well that way and was glad someone (was it Zeke?) posted quotes saying this was okay, that I wasn't ruining my reboot. We're all diff - YMMV.

Hello, it is great to be here and I live in Calgary, Alberta. Gratefully our -25 weather is behind us! Is there anyone else from Calgary here?

How long have you been doing the reboot and how is it going?

Hello from Vancouver! I wanted to know the difference between the juicing and having smoothies. Can someone help me out??

Hi, Starboy. A smoothie still has the indigestible fiber in it. Juice will have most of the indigestible fiber removed.

To make a smoothie, you would put the ingredients into a blender or food processor, and just process until it's smooth, or as smooth as that particular machine can make it. (A "high speed" blender will process more finely.)

To juice, in the most primitive way, you can then take the smoothie and pour it thru a cheesecloth or other bag and squeeze or put it in a sieve -- what comes thru will be juice. It still might have some fiber of the indigestible sort, depending on the fineness of the sieve/mesh/filter.

Next question is usually "I thought fiber was good for us." The indigestible fiber is good for health, yes, but when juicing, there's also an advantage to not having the digestive system (especially of an ill person) handle all that, giving it a break and concentrating the nutrient and enzyme load in the juice, for the purpose of healing.

There are a lot of juice machines and presses that will do all of this juice production for you in various ways, even in what appears to be one step. Some grind the ingredients using one or two arbors,, just crush it up, then screen the fiber out leaving the juice. Some scrape the ingredients with a knife sort of like a series of razor blades mounted on a mesh basket -- and then spin the pulp/fiber out using centrifugal force while collecting the juice below. Lots of different designs. :)

Hello from Halifax. I'm on Day 1 of 14. I juiced in the past but never a full blown fast. Feeling mildly nauseous and headachy but staying strong! I'm not exactly sick but definitely not well either. Tired, overweight by about 50lbs and just not comfortable physically or mentally with my body right now.

But what a great idea! Surround yourself with giant furniture! I don't see any 50 lbs to lose now. Lol. But seriously, I'm rooting for you 1 down and 1 day at a time. All the power to you girl!

Hello Canadian Maple, just wondering how you 15-days went? Did you push through the nausea okay? As a soon to be newbie your post made me wonder if I will be able to cut it. Maguscanook

Hi all, I'm in NS, the centre of the Province, near Truro. I'm here to gain weight! kind of the anti-rebooter? I'm very underweight. My brain and body dont have the hunger sensation.(due to a neurological issue) I need a way to load up on nutrition and gain weight. Looking like a 12 year old boy is no fun for a grown woman, plus its unhealthy.

Hey Ellen, Are you able to try protein drinks? Appearently they help. Also at the risk of sounding flip and I apologize but maybe you are they way you are and that's just going to have to be okay with everybody, it is with me! #nobodyshame. And watching the foodnetwork, it's always made me hungry. Nice pic of you!

Wanted to say Hi. My name is Mike and I am from in and around the Toronto area (a bit more north). Love the lifestyle and waited till day 8 to ensure I was finally past the hurdles before I joined the group. Good luck to all
