I started with 4 days just juice and then went onto eating raw or toasted nuts when I get the craving for something crunchy. Then there is always beans or falafel. Plus when I need more I make a salad or Buddha bowl with lots of variety. Even edamame and vegan cheese in it. Remember you can have 4-6 servings of juice a day. The recipe from the movie is 2 servings. I always look at it as one day at a time. I am on day 48 and have lost 30 lbs. If you find it difficult to do long term, try one week a month.

Hey fellow Canuck's!! Just wondering is everyone doing juice only? I am starting tomorrow and I have tried and failed in the past with strictly juice, so I might juice with one giant salad a day.....wondering if I would get the same benefits as juice only?? Any thoughts??

I have also been struggling to get started. I don’t think the salad a day is a bad idea! I think the benefits will be great that way too and help get things moving. From what I’ve learned is it’s very important to have a clean system getting started and I think salad would encourage that. Happy juicing.

Hi, I'm Kate from Penticton, BC and am on Day-21 of 60. I've been on this site for the past 5 years and decided to attempt 60 days since I'll be 60 in September. I thought it would be a good way to commemorate the big 6-0 birthday. The scale is moving slowly right now and it's a little discouraging so I thought I'd join you for support and to be supportive.

    Onward we go.

Have a great day juicing and or eating clean.

Hello Canucks! I am a Three Day rebooter, trying to "go long" with some juicing everyday. Just reading the posts below, lots of interesting information from the group......Leahbear, in my case I have been off and on with Joe's program, using the 3 Day Weekend Juice program. This 3 day program is the way to go to get started. Download the one page shopping list for your 3 day program, and you are good to go (no all the juices are not just green, see the 3 day program guide I mentioned). You Go Gwenyth and MagusCanook, hope it is warming up in TO! Best of luck and Great Willpower to all ! William in Surrey BC

Thanks, I am on day 17 and it's going ok! Have slipped a couple times,

Have lost 10 lbs, also noticing on the days I have cheated that I am learning my food intolerances!

To Leahbear. Joe uses the green juice recipe. The recipe he uses is two servings. He suggests 4-6 servings. So either two of the recipe or three. The green juice recipe has 4 stalks of celery 2 granny apples a large cucumber a bunch of kale I use three large leaves a half a lemon peeled and a 1” chunk of ginger. That recipe is two servings.

Hello there fellow Canadians! Today is the first day of my first 30 day juice fast. I am hoping it helps clear up some digestive issues I have been having for over a year now.

Hi Canooks, I am beginning a 30-day Reboot (my first) next Sunday. I chose that day because Sunday/Monday are my days off and I didn’t want to possibly feel crummy at work on the first few days. I won’t go into my boring health details but I haven’t felt truly well for a long time. As well, I could stand to lose 45-50 pounds. Wish me luck. I live in Toronto.

Good luck! I am also in Toronto and starting today. I hear the third day can often be the worst, but I hope not for you if you are going to work that day. Let me know how it goes!

I did get the book. Just wanted to be sure and get some more info. I have some knowledge about nutrition but it was very hard to understand that just juicing could be enough. There would not be enough fibre or nutrients for daily energy but I was feeling fine. Thanks for your help. It was a great idea to get the book. I have also decided to give up meat, chicken, fish, pork and dairy. I know I’m crazy but eh. Always try something once right???

Quote: "On his movie he stated juicing , nuts and beans. Never said anything about salad and soup. The way he talked about fasting I figured the juice nutrients would suffice. I wasn’t sluggish. As a matter of fact I felt amazing. I just might see about getting the book."

I keep seeing people here say after 15 days to add protein powder to some of your juices. I do see people suggesting veg broth. I've seen a suggestion to add in a bit of a good source of fat at some point. Nutritional stuff in things like chia seeds, flax seeds... I've seen coconut oil. I guess the movie alone is not enough of a nutritional guide -- try the FAQs page here and scan the Ask a Nutritionist pages as well as get ahold of the book which is not that big or difficult.

You know, we're all in different nutritional shapes when we come here. [ I could live off my fat for months while others would be in real trouble. Sugar content in some juices would be a problem for some. I don't see it affecting my blood sugar though I try to cut real sweet stuff with more greens. ] We need to listen to our bodies and educate ourselves.
