It was wonderful to see sooooo many enthusiastic Reboot Juicers at Joe's Book signing June 1st, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. What a motivating and inspiring evening. Joe was very generous with his time and graciously greeted everyone with a personalized moment, signing and photo op. Check out his new book #FULLY CHARGED and learn Joe's 7 Keys to Weight Loss, Staying Healthy & Thriving.

Watch this video for some special Fan moments and 'behind the scenes' of Joe's Las Vegas post "Gettin Lucky in Vegas" with Michelle Johnson, that he spontaneously posted on his Facebook thread. We were filming for ourselves and a few folks we had gotten talking to, and a few others from the Las Vegas RebootJuicers Meet-up group and was able to catch the special moment. Enjoy a snippet of time with Joe Cross. Be sure to see Joe when he is near you -- it will be memorable and well worth the trip. Relax & Enjoy - Eat & Drink Plants ;)

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, I have been busy on my other forum group "Juicing and PlantBased Society

I wanted to update the forum with some photos of reboot friendly food that we found when My wife & I went to Las Vegas to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. I needed to pay some special attention to my lady and avoided all the social media / community forum stuff. Even though I have been an avid rebooter going on 5 years now, improving your health is a 'tough row to hoe' -- for myself, it took 1-1/2 to 2 years to completely transition to an exclusive plant-based approach and when I did, I have been able to maintain and sustain my weight loss and health. I drink juice everyday and eat plants at every meal. However, as soon as I would stray a little, or "a bite of this" or a "bite of that"....Boom - 5 pounds gained, a sleepless night and a shirt that didn't fit.

Presently, I do not crave animal flesh, dairy, eggs, sugar or processed refined/packaged and junk foods, as a matter of fact - I get a little nauseous when I look at those foods and definitely feel ooky if I inadvertently eat those ingredients hidden in restaurant foods . This past weekend on our Anniversary celebration, my wife & I ate one of our old favorites from past years (any special occasion we went to get doughnuts - plural, usually a dozen!) -- a Krispy Kreme glazed/raspberry filled doughnut! YOWZA-- what a head rush of sugar. Betty's throat closed up and she got a headache almost immediately. About an hour later, both of us were belching & burping doughnut! BLECH

After that experience, we will be forever abstaining from Krispy Kreme and immediately moved on to our now favorite Vegan Restaurant for "green tea tofu cheesecake with cashew Cherry Chocolate Soya ice creme and an almond crust, decorated with a Lotus root crisp"

    [img src="[img src="">">

For dinner we ate the best non-chicken and not-fish we have ever tasted. we think it tasted even better than real animal chicken and fish. All of these food photos are Reboot Friendly foods if you can believe it! There are options to SAD when you venture forth and seek out alternatives to old ways. You can teach an old dog new tricks! This place was my wife's idea and somewhere she has wanted to try for about a year. They use the old school Buddhist preparation of Seitan, Tempeh and Tofu and have many years of training in plant-based cuisine.

The following photos have no meat/animal, dairy, or eggs -- everything is plant-based foods without the guilt, deprivation, restriction or need to count calories.

Eat More Plants = Weigh Less

    [img src="[img src="">">

^ HOUSE SPECIAL NOODLES WITH SHRYMP & PORCK

    [img src="[img src="">">

^ SIZZLING CHIKIN WITH VEGGIE IN GARLIC SAUCE

    [img src="[img src="">">

^ SALT N' PEPPER FISCH It's the thin wrap of nori seaweed that makes this dish outta this world. it reminded me of Black Cod fried Fish. I was blown away! I had thought that a Buddhist Veggie Restaurant would be puritan foods, or flavorless foods. boy did I get an eye-opener. We even had a Wonton Soup and a delish Cilantro salad with a smoky tasting tofu cheese interspersed through out. Just Cilantro with a few sprigs of Spinach and this tangy lemony dressing with a smoky tasting cheese -- I thought it was Smoked Gouda!

    [img src="[img src="">">

I am a changed man forever after visiting this place. Gone are my days of Mongolian Beef, Sweet n' Sour Pork and Chicken Low Mein. I will never doubt the Buddhist's again and will seek out Vegan establishments wherever I find myself.

P.S. there was even a Juice Bar Vegan Diner that we found. And I was able to stick to my daily Modified Reboot Juicing & plantbased foods lifestyle while on vacation! So when visiting the most sinful and indulgent cities in the world-- get off the strip, and away from the casinos ..... Seek out VEGGIE HOUSE RESTAURANT on Spring Mtn Blvd. and VIOLETTES VEGAN on Desert Inn. There is even VEGE NATION on 7th & Carson just off Fremont Street in Old Downtown Vegas.

Give me a buzz at 928.758.7689 -- 360.220.2518 --- 1.800.906.2624 and let me know your coming and I'll meet you there!

Hello! My name is Carol, and I am brand new to juicing. I watched Joe's two videos and have ordered a Breville juicer and am excited to get started. I am 65, live in the foothills near Auburn CA (northern California), and still work fulltime. After watching Joe's Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead, I feel completely compelled to become part of this movement, and look forward to being a member of Baby Boomer Juicers.

It's been a long time since I've been on the site however - the really good news is that I kept the weight off and now I'm going to do some more! The incredible first phase had me really control my eating which is amazing, I lost 25 lbs. I'm going to do it again and try to lean more to the juicing lifestyle, it's great that we are in our spring as I plan on planting some veggies as well :-)

This article is posted here for the benefit of our BabyBoomer Juicers members. Originally published on MindBodyGreen.com and http://www.forksoverknives.com/everyone-eat-plant...

EVERYONE SHOULD EAT PLANTS by Rich Roll who is a graduate of Stanford University and Cornell Law School, Rich Roll is an author, world-renowned ultra-endurance athlete, a wellness advocate, husband, and father, and an inspiration to people worldwide as an example of courageous and healthy living. He is the first of two people to complete five Ironman triathlons on five Hawaiian islands in under a week.

There is a misconception that eating a plant-based diet is unnatural, the purview of activist radicals and the socially marginalized. Instead, I submit that it is beyond a doubt the most natural, healthy, and advisable thing you can possibly do to optimize your wellness and become bulletproof to Western disease.

    Outrageous!

What’s truly outrageous is just how sick we’ve become. We live in the most prosperous nation on Earth, and yet overall we’ve never been more unhealthy. Chronic illness is killing us and bankrupting our economy. One out of every three deaths in the US is caused by heart disease, America’s #1 killer. A close second is cancer, killing one out of every four in the U.S. alone. 70% of Americans are obese or overweight. And by 2030, 50% of Americans will be diabetic or pre-diabetic. Total insanity.

How did we get here? Of course the answer is complex, but the biggest contributor is what we eat. Currently, 94% of the calories consumed by the typical American eating the standard American diet are empty, lacking any true nourishment whatsoever, with only 6% of calories coming from fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and seeds.

Natural has become unnatural. Unnatural has become natural. We’re completely upside down when it comes to food and health. And it’s time for a change.

To right the ship, we must begin by confronting the reality that we’re actually addicted to foods that are killing us. Atop the list are processed foods—soda, snacks, desserts and other packaged items laden with preservatives, saturated fat, sugar, fructose corn syrup, sodium, and other unnatural chemicals. Of course, we all know these foods are bad for us. And yet so many are powerless when it comes to giving them up.

    Why?

Because many of these foods are specifically devised to activate the pleasure centers in our brain, enslaving us to habitual poor dietary choices—the very essence of addiction. When combined with our national preference for excessive meat and dairy intake, blood cholesterol escalates, clogging our arteries; our cells become cancerous; and our immune systems spiral out of control in response, creating a state of chronic inflammation. This confluence of factors creates a persistent condition in which our bodies become disease incubators, sentencing us to an almost certain future of chronic illness.

Even more outrageous? Standard operating procedure for treating these common chronic conditions—everything from high cholesterol to erectile dysfunction—is to prescribe medications that treat symptoms rather than address the root cause of the issue. Counsel and guidance to improve diet and exercise have been supplanted by Lipitor, Crestor, Viagra and countless other pharmaceuticals designed to quell the symptoms of every conceivable malady.

Taken as a whole, the aforementioned four conditions (hearth disease, obesity, cancer and diabetes) account for approximately 75% of our current health care costs, to the tune of countless billions of dollars annually. This is simply not sustainable. And yet the great irony is that so many chronic diseases (exempting certain cancers of course)—in fact 90% of all Western disease—need never exist in the first place. It’s time to reverse the trend. But how?

Simple. Eat more plants. You might be surprised to learn that a plant-based diet is the only nutritional protocol known to man that has been shown to prevent—and in many cases, actually reverse, these four and many other chronic illnesses that unnecessarily plague us.

    { For more info on how you can alleviate the need for surgery, pharmaceuticals and invasive treatments, by simply eating & drinking plants.... see the "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" testimonial of Dan Miller at: http://youtu.be/LF4djArEXvwor, Feel free to review the complete journey to recovered health and overcoming obesity, diabetes, heart disease and osteo complaints at: http://www.envirohealthtech.com/weight_loss.htm}

In the most simplistic terms, if America flipped the Standard American Diet so that we began getting 94% of our calories from fresh, whole plant-based foods (rather than current levels of 6%), most of our diseases would simply vanish. And our health care crisis would essentially repair itself.

I know it may sound daunting. "I can’t imagine life without pizza! How can l possibly live without eggs?"

Personally, I cannot emphasize enough how adopting a 100% PlantPower diet revolutionized my life. But I also realize not everyone is ready to jump in with both feet on Day One. I get it. I sympathize.

So I’m here to say, relax. Don’t be afraid. Ease into it. And let go of the idea of perfection. Let it go.

This is not about deprivation. Instead, it’s about a willingness to release old ideas you’ve harbored your whole life about what a healthy diet entails. It’s about being open to the adventure of experimentation, exploring and rediscovering whole foods in their natural state. It’s about developing an enhanced connection to and relationship with your body, learning to pay greater attention to the nexus between the foods you eat and how you feel and function. And ultimately, it’s about developing a more acute intuition about what truly serves you, so you can reprogram yourself to make better choices that are in your best long-term interest physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

With each successive step along the path, you’ll begin to notice changes. As your energy levels improve, your preferences will shift from empty calories to foods that actually nourish you. The more whole, plant-foods you incorporate into your routine, the more likely those unhealthy cravings will subside. And before you know it, that hankering for cheese might just vanish altogether.

Against all odds—and despite being a self-avowed junk-food junkie for most of my life—it happened for me(and myself Dan Miller & my wife Elisabeth Rae http://community.rebootwithjoe.com/profile/danmill...).

And I’m here to tell you that it can happen for you, too.

At the end of the day, there is only one rule:eat more plants. Because baby steps move mountains.

I’ll leave you with this: Embracing a plant-based lifestyle didn’t just repair my health. It was the key that unlocked my heart and allowed me to discover, embrace and unleash a better and more authentic version of myself on the world.

I wish only the same experience for you. Because we need more of who you really are.

So I have been on this reboot 43 days. Kind of fell off this weekend. I need to be more serious and not eat anything, but just juices. Going to go to just juices now starting tomorrow. Prayers and support please. :) I don't know why I feel like I have to have food in the evenings. I will do this! 19 pounds isn't that bad, but need to get off 42 more pounds. I started to feel so much better. Going off sure showed me that it wasn't worth it.

ITS NOT CHEATING IF YOU EAT PLANTS

Quote from Joe Cross, "First, a Reboot is defined as a period of time where you commit to drinking and eating only fruits and vegetables. That’s right, I said eating! You just have to figure out what works best with your body and your lifestyle. It’s different for everyone. You may lose weight faster if you juice only, but it is perfectly fine to eat your fruits and veggies too! Do what works best for you."

kathaleena maybe you might consider a MODIFIED REBOOT WITH FOOD? Success has been found both eating and drinking plants.

I bought Joe's new book and in it he writes about coconut water: "Coconut water is a great source of electrolytes, which are important for your reboot. If you 're not fond of the taste, try adding some fresh lemon, lime, or orange juice. If you really can't stomach it, we encourage you to drink another juice that is high in electrolytes, such as beet, cantaloupe, celery, or watermelon."

patricia - sorry I took so long to answer your concerns, I was away from my desk all weekend and enjoyed a great 54th birthday celebration.

I will post the same answer as below again:

"I am not up for canned, packaged coconut water nor refined/flavored/processed coconut water either.....they taste nasty. There are some brands out there that are uber-expensive and supposedly taste okay. I am with Maxene....if I can get a real coconut, I bang it to get the water then hammer it apart and scrape out the meat to use. Most use coconut water to add electrolytes but you can add better electrolytes with fruit & veggies in your juices. To me coconut water is just something extra you don't really need to buy to have a successful reboot experience."
