Life has been interesting in terms of adapting to a plant based diet and i'm learning so much with each day that passes. Many positive changes.

CubsMommy ~ Joe Cross has info on that on his website but you may find more info online. I think it's always scary because you want to eat and join the real world again, but on the other hand, you've gotten used to not gaining weight because of the juice cleanse. It can be a scary thought to eat and gain weight. If I find good info to pass on to you, I will. http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/joes-tips-for-breaking-a-reboot/

That's fantastic! What an accomplishment. You must look so different now and getting so many compliments. It must feel great looking at yourself in the mirror and trying on new clothes. I remember going into a store and asking the clerk for a certain size. She looked at me and told me she thought I was 2 sizes smaller. I was shocked when I came to find in the fitting room that she was right; a most pleasant surprise! You'll have to take it ever so slow when you begin to eat again and that might cause even more weight loss. Do you know how long you want to go?

I'm only doing juice only until after my 100th day...I have gone into the clothing store and went straight to the 2X section...Lol...only to realize that I can now shop in a non-plus size clothing store...Sorry Lane Bryant but now there's a new world out there for me...I am currently in XL but my tee shirts fit me big so I might actually fit into a large in tee shirts but not in blouses...a size large in a blouse would be awesome...what kind of foods should I start off eating?

I think 100 days off of food will make the transition back to eating a big deal. I told, Autumn, that I had read that you should take it really slow for half of the time of your juice cleanse to ease back into eating. That's 50 days for you! I would start with whole, plant-based foods -- fruit, soups, and a little salad -- stuff like that, but definitely broths and maybe apples that are peeled. Amy's, makes a low sodium, low-fat, butternut soup, that I like. I remember a little difficulty eating again this time around -- not something I've felt before. I just didn't feel that good. Nothing wrong with my tummy or anything, I just didn't feel that great fro some reason. I thought I had eaten slowly enough but I don't think tot back in the saddle slow enough or that I varied the phytonutrients (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage) foods as it shouId have. I've never gone as long as you, though. WOW! A hundred days of juicing is a huge commitment. I don't know how you done 86 days, but I imagine seeing your body and labs change has been quite motivating. Quite an accomplishment on your part; few people could do what you've done so far. My only wish for you is that you reach the goal you've set for yourself in the coming 2 weeks.

My results are in ...bye bye Insulin (lantus & Humalog), Krill Oil (fish oil), aspirin...I'm a Type II diabetic with neuropathy (don't notice much of the neuropathy anymore), chronic pancreatitis due to history of noncompliance with insulin and hyperlipidemia (my sugars go sky high which inturn makes my triglycerides out of control resulting in pancreatitis, fatty liver, hypertriglyceridemia...Cholesterol was 309 now 178, Triglycerides at one point were over 1,000 now 169, A1C was 10.5 now 6.6, Microalbumin was 82 now 1.1...to summarize my cholesterol is now within normal range, hemoglobin A1C is under such good control that my Nurse Practitioner said to me..."I never thought I'd say this to you...stop taking your insulin!!!" After years of fighting with me to take it...Lol...The best part of all is the microalbumin which detected early signs of kidney damage ...TOTALLY REVERSED, NO MORE SIGNS OF KIDNEY DAMAGE!!! I love all the support everyone here had given me...without you guys this never would have been possible to achieve...

CubsMommyof4, Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at your doctors. Maybe she just doesn't know anything about juice fasting. Next time you see her recommend this website to her and ask her to check it out. She can also watch the movie too. Last time I went to my doctor and told her I was doing a juice fast she was very excited for me and she knew who Joe Cross was. I told her that me and a friend of mine went downtown to see him and we purchased his book to start juicing. This was a few years ago but I still juice everyday and eat a light vegetarian meal for dinner. My body loves this way of eating. A lot of my health issues disappeared about a month after I started this. Best of luck to you! Hope everything gets better and don't give up!

Thanks laurene...that's a great idea...the receptionist saw me and the first thing she asked was what kind of surgery did I have to lose all that weight...and she requested the info for herself...LOL...hopefully she gives it to the Nurse Practitioner...

I went to the Dr today (or Nurse Practitioner...to be exact)...I was declared per my BMI...which I don't remember the exact number...I am officially not Obese...per my BMI...I don't agree when I look at myself in the mirror before getting dressed...lol...The NP said she was not happy with the way I lost my weight but she was very happy that I did lose the weight...she kept going on and on about me not getting any B vitamins...and this vitamin...and that vitamin...and blah, blah, blah...she was amazed at how good I looked but was worried about my zero protein intake...she told me to take Vitamin B100...never heard of that before and I'm an RN...and she wants me to take a Multivitamin...but I know we are not supposed to...she also wants me to start adding in a little protein like a hard boiled egg, or chicken...UUGH...then she wonders why I haven't seen her in over 6 months...or almonds, walnuts or pecans...I will in a few weeks...I'm not ready yet...and she wants to see me back in 1 month for a weight check...guess she doesn't believe that my fast will be over soon...she checked my labs CBC, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Glyco HB A1C, Lipid Panel, and a urine test (microalbumin/creatinine ratio)...In the past I had early signs of kidney damage...which is still reversible...my labs won't get picked up until 10am tomorrow and they close at 1pm so I won't have any results until Monday at the earliest...I'm gonna be a nervous wreck till then :(...Nurses are the worst patients...Lol

Hello CubsMom ~ I know what it's like to be emotionally "beaten" up by your doctor. It happened to me a couple of weeks back when visiting an orthopedic doctor. You can leave the doctor's office feeling pretty low. So glad you wrote about it and shared your experience.

Congratulations, first off, on your weight loss and your endurance. That speaks volumes about your commitment to get healthy. It's too bad that not everyone can see that. About protein ~ I know that Joe has mentioned adding a protein powder to juices after juicing for, is it 15 days? Not sure but I do add a protein powder that I like to a fresh grapefruit juice that I buy at Whole Foods. I tried Joe's protein powder but just didn't like the taste. I use Garden of Life, Raw Fit. http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Protein-Nutriti...

As for kidneys ~ I worked as a social worker in a kidney dialysis unit and saw the devastating affects of kidney failure on people's lives. There is good news about that though. There is now much evidence about how a plant-based diet can help reverse kidney issues. Dr. Gregor, who I think is simply one of the best out there, has info on it ~ http://nutritionfacts.org/2012/10/04/preventing-k...My doctor just shakes his head when he reads my blood work every year. He told me I have the kidney function of an 18 year old and I think it's due to my plant-based diet.

Good luck with your blood work and don't be bullied. You're doing the very best you can. I think juice cleanses are extremely powerful and healing. As for BMI ~ well, a better way to judge is to take your height in inches, divide it by half ~ your waist should be no bigger than half your height.

    Stay plant and juice-strong CubsMom!
