You can do it Essence! Today is my day11. Being Saturday I would normally be making breakfast for my husband and me and planning on where to go for lunch.. But I'm going to stop feeling sorry for myself and go make my juice! Hope you have a great day!

Day is going pretty well... Feeling kinda hungry, but at the same time not. Seems like there is a distinction to be made here between feeling "hungry" and "empty" and the brain has a tendency to call it "hungry". Well brain .... I'm challenging that!

Hello everyone! I made it through Day 6! Thank you for those who made suggestions and gave advice. It really helped me. I appreciate it. :)

When I started on Feb. 9th, I weighed in at 340. I was really holding fluids and was so swollen at that time. I weighed this morning, and I am down to 324! That's 16 lbs!! I know most of that is water weight lost, but it makes me smile to see the scale going down! I am now moving full steam ahead looking to get below 300 lbs!

I hope everyone has a great day and remains strong! I just finished my lemon water and am going to make my morning juice. Juice On!!

What are your goals for rebooting?

As well as weight loss, I wanted to generally feel better. The silent killer - blood pressure was high. My sleep was poor. And I didn't have the energy I used to have. I needed to focus better - my study was suffering. I wrote these down and what I wanted to see. I also took body measurements. And because I am a little OCD put it all into spreadsheets and journals.

Today, before I took my blood pressure meds, I checked my blood pressure. It was normal. I measured it three times, just to make sure. Normal each time. Too soon to stop the meds and I need to see my doctor before I do, but this is such a good thing. This reduces the chances of stroke significantly.

I am sleeping better. I am not exactly leaping out of bed in the morning, but I don't think any of us actually do that. But I am sleeping all night and wake feeling better. Can't remember needing a nanna nap at all since I started juicing. Also watched all of the movie last night. Didn't struggle to keep awake. That hasn't happened for awhile. If I can refind the link I will post it - I read an article about poor sleep and ways we can improve our sleep patterns - one was to drink more plant based juices!

The writing down of goals I think is important. Staged. Made manageable. That's why I do graphs from my spreadsheets - I might not be at that goal yet, but if I see the line heading in the right direction, I know I am on target.

So - for those days when you feel hungry, or feel that it is all too difficult, or your weight loss has hit 'one of those stages', you can go back to those goals. Note the changes. Be proud of what you have done to date.

It is not just about weight loss. What other changes are you seeing that shows that this is making a difference to your health and well being.

I have lost the tape measure! BUT the side on view in the mirror was pleasing. Parts of my body I know are smaller ... just need the tape measure to confirm.

Valentines done and dusted. We did have salad and baked salmon, which was really good. Probably the scoop of home made icecream and the glass of wine weren't the best idea - but it only comes around once a year. This morning - all the vegetables which didn't make it into the salad were juiced for breakfast - including the radishes. If you need a bit of a kick to your juices - radishes will do it.

The scales aren't showing anything dreadful so feel okay with that. Tonight is the dinner we organised with friends last year - so juice all day and not overdo it tonight. My partner is off on a bushwalk tomorrow (so I can study) and I can have a full day juicing.

Next week - I have two lunches for work. Have convinced my colleagues that the cafes which serve salads will be best and they are all happy with that. If they have cold pressed juices then I will do that. If not will juice around those.

In part is about planning - as long as I can be moderate (and plant based) in that single meal I have during the day and juice around it, things still seem - albeit a little slower. When the students return to campus - it will be easier.

I'm now on day 10 of a 10 day exclusive juice fast but I don't feel like stopping so I need to run out tonight to buy more veggies to juice!

I've lost around 8 pounds in 10 days (with lady bloat, no less) so I'm happy with that - impressed I lost any weight, to be honest - I'm so used to weight sticking to me! I haven't cheated or felt the need in the past 10 days, but I plan on going out for brunch on Sunday and trying to take our baby to a restaurant for the first time! We shall see how that goes. I hope to now adjust to a diet made up predominantly of juicing with occasional meals when I feel like it, or the occasion calls for it. I don't have any serious weight or health reasons to go juice crazy so I think I can strike a nice balance with the inclusion of meals.

Had to buy a cupcakes for my dog on her 12th birthday... Because I'm that person. I'd love to have one too but no, it's her day! Haha. My baby is also 2 months today, so a sweet Valentine's Day for me! They've taken turns barking and squawking at me all day so I've only had time for one juice! Waiting for my husband to come home to have another!

Haha, I forgot - I had my bra on as a strapless and it slid down and off! I guess that means I'm losing inches! I was home alone, so it wasn't as scandalous as it could have been, but beware of waredrobe malfunctions ;)

    Take care!

Hi, Happy Valentine's Day!! I am on day 6 today. I am having a rough time today because I feel so hungry...it's Friday, the weekend is here and it's Valentine's Day, so my mind and thoughts are trying really hard to get me to eat! If anyone has any suggestions on how to conquer this, please share with me! I need to do this and DO NOT want to mess up!! TIA

Hi KT! Congratulations on making it to day 6! I'm on day 5, and felt very hungry when I woke up. I've found that if I just wait about a half an hour, the hunger goes away, so that's my approach (of course I also drink water or juice or something). Maybe you could find a juice recipe that gets you excited, and look forward to that today?

Sun~ I feel you there. I am going to get another glass of ice water and to be honest. going to find something to keep my "mind" busy so i can make another full day.

kt - drink up. If you are getting enough from the juice and your water intake you shouldn't feel hungry.

KT... Lemon steep tea- (half a lemon juiced in hot water for 5-10min). On another note I'm just finishing up a certification in Sound Therapy. This is something I'm also going to experiment with during my fast so I will pass on what I learn. I have read some things about using crystal bowls, your voice, and or meditations to "fill" you up. I realize I'm not being very descriptive here, but again this is something I plan to experiment with and will gladly pass on anything I find helpful! I also don't want to mess up, but some fish is totally calling my name right now!

Hello all! I have done a 10 day and 14 day juice fast in the past and always love it, but haven't been able to maintain my results... So here I am again! Hi Essence and everyone else on this post! I am So Excited to meet everyone here :-)

....I would like to join you and help you (and me) stick to this plan! I have fasted in the past and made some fabulous progress only to gain it right back... I am 45 years old and have a 10 year old autistic daughter and I am a single mom. Like I said I have fasted in the past and have had wonderful results....I have always water fasted so my longest one was 15 days. I am recently separated and worry a lot about what happens if something happens to me when me and my little girl are all alone ....That really scares the heck out of me to say the least. I did the body for life program back in 2002 and I made top 10 for my age group...had a professional photo shoot and they put me in their magazine and today...you would never know it. I guess the last 7 years of stressful living and trying to make someone else happy has really taken it's toll on me....Now I am ready to step up!

I want to start a 90 day fast tomorrow...I know yours is a 30 day fast...and you just started today but, I would like to join you and support each other and anyone else that wants to join the crusade! I want to lose 75 lbs total so I can have my life back...that is what I have gained since 2002 and I met my last hubby...I need to do this for my health, to get focused in life, for clarity, for a deeper spiritual connection and to be around for my daughter for many years to come. My mother and I never had a good relationship...(god rest her soul) and she had cancer since she was in her late 20's ...starting with ovarian cancer and ending with Lymphoma when she died at 42...I am 45 ...my goal is to drop 75 lbs in 90 days and celebrate my 46th birthday from a whole new level....

I have been battling depression....I feel cut off from everyone...from the world and my days have been so uneventful...I live in a HUGE Tourist area...I live in Myrtle Beach but, instead I have felt like I have been living in a black hole while everyone around me is living and moving on...Tomorrow I start my Journey...There ....I did it! I stated a fact in front of who knows how many people :-) ...I have to be accountable to someone because I bought my juicer on 1-14-2014! No kidding... and everyday I say....Tomorrow I will start....Well, I am done procrastinating! ( I could right a book on 'procrastinating....but, not right now , maybe next month...LOL) It's time to take my life back...I want my life back....my energy back...my excitement back...I want to simply feel ALIVE...Tomorrow is not D day...Tomorrow is 'ME' day.....Anyone that wants to join me please send me a message ...I have a blog and I am going to start one page to just track my journey but, I have a forum that I could open up if I have enough people that would like to post daily thoughts....

This is me...I am real...I NEED Support :-) ...and I am here to give YOU support *Big Hugs...Southern style* Blessings to Everyone on this Journey!

Hello everyone, I am on day 10 today. I don't really have an end date in mind yet, just seeing how things go..My migraines occur every 2 weeks so I have to be on this for atleast another week or more...It's been hard for me some days. Yesterday in particular, everyone at work had amazing smelling food for lunch and my desk is right by the break room/kitchen...ugh!

I'm also a little bit sad that I can't celebrate Valentine's Day with my husband the way we normally would, (going out to dinner, making dinner at home), and since we get Monday off from work, it was the perfect weekend for a nice getaway..But he has been very supportive and we decided to postpone a weekend trip for another time..Since it's still a special occasion, I am going to make spaghetti squash for dinner, as a little treat. Making everything from scratch, no preservatives, no oils, dairy, or animal products. Wish me luck! =) And Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, stay strong! I will try to as well...

you're right Jan. I'll tell you it was tough, I had a mini breakdown when I got home, but once I remembered there's no turning back now, I got up and made dinner. It was pretty good.
