Hi, all! I am on Day 2 of a 10 day reboot to start with. I began my weightloss journey (again, but this time doing lifestyle changes) and journey to get off of 14+ prescriptions (fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, thyroid, hormones, depression, anxiety, allergies) last summer. A change in jobs, a switch to eating less processed foods, and doing a gallstone cleanse, a yeast cleanse and oral chelation, has brought me down 31 pounds and down to 4 prescriptions! I have 63 pounds to go! So, I am exactly 1/3 of the way there.

I may go longer than the 10 days, but wanted to have small goals to obtain. I often have to travel with my work and that makes juicing hard to do long term.

Today, I have a headache and heartburn (which I haven't had heartburn since doing the gallstone cleanse!)

    Onward...and downward:)

Are fitbits really worth it? Have you seen a noticable difference before working out without one and with?

I just got mine yesterday. But one reason we got them was because we are going to start using some DVDs and we needed heart monitors. So the charge hr has that. The ones we bought first were a lot cheaper and they didn't work so we sent them back and decided to give this a try. I had a pedometer on my cell phone but that was another device to carry. This one also monitors your sleep which my husband needs he is a light sleeper and we wanted to check how that is going for him since it is so important to get your sleep. So one device has all of it. Lindy has had her's longer and she has been posting on all the walking she is doing and it is amazing. So I will get back with more information on it once I really get started. My hubby and I are using them as an anniversary gift to each other. Good health can't beat that gift.

eurocatbaby: Thank you for your input. Maybe once I get to a weight where I know I can work out harder than I can now, I'll look more into it. And wouldn't you know it, injured my foot today pretty good. Hoping it's nothing serious because I've been working out every other day finally for three weeks and was getting somewhere with it all.

    Hey Lindy,

My hubby and I got our fitbits yesterday. Due to bad back and mending from broken ankle and surgery for that ankle I don't think I will get as many steps as you yet. But I know that this will motive me. Have you had the fitbit register steps while you sleep? I woke up with 40 steps. We have the charge hr. Just got them yesterday.

Is it ok to eat veggies as well as juice?

  • Kristen

It's ok. Im not sure you would be giving your digestive system the rest a juice fast implies. However if your goals are otherwise, like just losing weight it might be fine for you. I know some who juice everything before dinner and eat a vegetarian dinner etc. Whatever works for you is ok! I find once I eat, it's a slippery slope and I am somehow hungrier. any particles or pulp even in my juice can make me hungrier than straight juice (after the hungries-which last the first 3-5 days for me-then smooth sailing). I add protein (powder) and fat (coconut oil, flax oil - 1tsp each) though b/c I still workout pretty hard daily and I don't want to juice more to get more calories... and I don't want to feel starving. :)

My daughter didn't finish half of her apple today and I can't stand wasting food so ate it. It was delicious and the reboot with Joe app says that fruit is "on plan." The difference is that I am also digesting the insoluble fiber (pulp). So far no stomach issues and I managed to close the Oreos bag after my son collected some without eating any. Good luck!

As long as you are supplementing your Juice with whole plant foods..the veg and fruits...then you are fine. Good on you fibro for not being derailed by the cookies and 5 lbs gone! But I relate with Kristen...snacking on a celery may trigger a binge for me this early in my journey. Just ending, finally! Day 1 of 60 Juice-Only. Taking it one day at a time in order to make today a success.

Hi! Ive been doing juice mostly with fruits veg nuts and seeds. Its been just over a week and ive lost 3lbs. I feel healthier. Ive found sugar is what sets me on a binge. Not the sugar in fruits and veggies but the added sugar in processed food. I havent wanted to binge since i started. ;)

Hello everyone, I started my reboot yesterday, I'm looking to get healthy and also to look great when I go to San Juan in a month and a half :). I'm trying to go for 30 days as I have about 40lbs to lose but when I have dieted in the past I lose weight pretty quickly. My question for the group is how do you normally shop for your fruits and veggies? I find myself going to the store either every 2-3 days because I don't want to buy to much and have some things go bad. The good thing I find is that I know there are staples that I always buy that I put in most of all my juices like celery, ginger, cucumber and beets and a few others. Do you guys have a system where you buy a weeks worth of fruits and veggies and at the end of the week everything has been used?

  • Kristen

I buy every three days too b/c I don't have room for more. I juice the same three juices everyday. So that's one green juice doubled, one beet juice doubled and the pear delight, single. This gives me five juices. So my shopping list is written down and I get the same thing everytime. I juice everything for the day once a day.

    How's day two going?

My husband and I shop a couple of times a week. We want the freshest produce we can get. We have a local farm that has a lot of our produce like fresh spinach and kale. Like you said you have the things you know you need all the time so you keep them on hand. As we get low on things we just start a list and that helps. We have limited losing produce from going bad this way. Stay focused and juice on.

    Agnieszka,

The cravings will change. My husband and I are on day 26. I am a life long veggie hater. Sugar addict & junk food junkie but since I have started this my sweet cravings are gone. We had a drink with carrot, apple & ginger. It was so sweet and the good kind of sweet. That doesn't mean I don't see the chocolate cake when shopping at Costco but I don't have the same relationship with that food. I saw the baguette and thought about how wonderful that would be made into a crostini with tomato and basil and large salad with it. My husband was amazed that this was what I was thinking about and not the dessert. We are doing this for health reasons and I am hoping to reboot my taste buds which I feel is happening since I dream of veggies and salads. We have 34 more days to go which doesn't seem like that long now. I didn't think I would be able to do this but it has been easy. Drink lots of water, plenty of juice if you feel hungry. We added an organic veggie broth at night after 15 days for something warm. After 15 days we also added hemp hearts for some extra protein. 3 tablespoons is 10g of protein. We have a tablespoon after the am, noon & pm drink. You just eat them with a spoon. They taste like nuts and we get a little crazy because it is something to chew. I hope this helps. You can do this just focus on what your goal is and the outcome. On the fat summit we are watching one of the speakers said yesterday a great quote, " A goal without a plan is just a wish." It is so true so have your plan of how you will eat when this is over too. Because wishes disappear and then you can go back to bad habits and gain weight. So you want to plan on making a life change.
