"In January 2009, a study was published in which researchers took 34 different vegetables, juiced them, and then dripped the juice on 8 different cancer cell lines to see what would happen... And some of the vegetable juices had remarkable anti-cancer effects.

The most powerful anti-cancer vegetable in this study was garlic.

Garlic stopped cancer growth completely in all 8 tumor cell lines, which included breast cancer, adult and childhood brain cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, and stomach cancer.

The second most powerful anti-cancer vegetable was leeks, which is no surprise because garlic and leeks are in the same vegetable family: the allium family.

The most potent anti-cancer vegetables in this study were mostly from two families: the allium family, which is garlic, onions, and leeks, and the cruciferous family, which includes broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, collards, Brussels sprouts, bok choy, radishes, even mustard and wasabi.

Two other anti-cancer vegetables are spinach and beet root.

Food is medicine! And if you care about preventing and healing cancer, it makes sense to eat the most potent anti-cancer vegetables every day. ????

    Please share!"

I wonder if too much water has made the celery so yucky? Anyway I did find some good stalks however the bunches were small, Still juicing weight down to a loss of 14lbs going slow haven't been run/walking at all due to it is too hot to garden by the time I get back have to get out at 6:30-7 a.m. in order to do it. It is now in the 90's! 2 of my tomatoes have drown from the torrents, 2 more are on the cusp. I bought 4 new plants and potted them in 1 gallon containers they are acclimated to the sun so they sit out in the garden until the bad areas dry up enough for me to plant them. I also bought and planted 4 tomatillos, as they are great bee attractants. I replace the watermelon that drown in the raised beds. And the kale is struggling. Not sure what the problem is.

Hey Buddies! The night before last I had a text asking me if I had used my credit card for specific items. I saw the charges and knew I had recently ordered from amazon, so I said yes. In the morning I had an email as well so I went in to my account and found 2 charges I did not buy, and also the amazon charge. I don't use that card for Amazon as I have a Prime card there. So my card was canceled and I needed a new card. They expedited shipping and I was waiting for the card to arrive as i was told I would have to sign for it. I had left the garage door open because my husbands car was hot and I wanted to cool off the garage. He was off in the truck to get some things at home depot, when he came back he found the envelope on the ground in front of my car! I was glad to get it as I use it for all of my purchases except Amazon, but was surprised I didn't have to sign for it as I was told. Luckily I had gone out to get some things the day before and i had plenty of things to juice, I just forgot celery as the store I was in had yucky looking celery. So I substitute romaine for the celery in my Hawaiian Pear, also they had no pears in that store so I subbed in apples instead. The taste was great!

Looks like there's no room for you anyway on Mt Everest. The photos of all those people lined up are ridiculous. lol

Heading out here shortly to meet workers for some tenant repairs. Then I have 2 tenants moving out in June. Have to pick out new hardwood looking flooring. I've been replacing all carpets the last few years. Much nicer. Carpet today is junk. Then off to Trader Joe's to reload.

I should make Joe's Detox Soup today.

So funny that you mentioned pizza and wine! Today I am taking a juice break as it is Pizza and wine tasting day at one of the wineries I am a member of. We went to a few wineries that are farther away to pick up wine club which I had not picked up for months so we ended up coming home with 3+ cases of wine from 3 wineries. I have 5 more to pick up at and will keep all of that wine in boxes to go to Arizona next year. I will quit all of the wine clubs at the beginning of the year. I have 3 wine barrels all stained to bring to Az with me, not sure if I will turn them into a long table for the backyard or if I will put them in the courtyard and put planters on top of them on either side of the fireplace in there.

Good Morning! This morning my weight has gone down! Yay stuck for a few days and now I have released a total of 11.4 lbs! So excited about this! I also strung flash tape to keep the deer out of the vegetable garden. Today I will pull the weeds along the fence line and plant in some flowers, that I picked up at the store yesterday.

I ended up having to go get a few things for my garden and stopped to pick up some juicing goodness while I was out and about. I did get all of the things I wanted to do in the garden done, turned the compost pile adding in fertilizer it just had one hot spot so hopefully it will heat up this week and begin to be productive.so we are off to day 10!

Today starts day 9 I hate my metabolism no weight change however I have not been going on my morning run due to weather, family and trying to get some packing and cleaning done in the house to get ready for the move. I am working on books, I have all my books laying on the pool table to sort through and decide what to keep and what goes. I know at least 75% will go. We have more in boxes in my husband's shop he needs to get them out of the rafters so I can sort through those too. But I will sort through the ones I have now and box up the ones I don't want to keep. Juices made for the day, will have to shop for produce tomorrow I have enough to make enough juices for tomorrow though. I just went through the fridge, and knowing me I may put it off another day if I can.
